The Ministry of Magic

I dedicate this to the fabulous InsufferableKnowItAl 😘😘 thank you for my covers dawling! 😍😘

PSA first: Y'all...

There's so much anger in the world right now. I feel as if I need to share this. I can't handle all of these cruel posts anymore. I've been noticing more and more hatred all over Wattpad lately... to when I can get on here, which is very seldom at this stage in my life, because my family needs me more right now... My stories are for fun and an escape from reality. NONE OF THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. It's an exaggerated fanfic from my point of view of The Harry Potter Magical World. Which means I can create my spin on it, because it's a fanfic based story... there are waaay more serious problems in the world right now than nitpicking some fictional characters and my choices on how I choose to write them in their versions of actions or personalities. To which really, can be imagined however we picture. Because JK Rowling gave us the stories of when her characters were in the adolescences of the Hogwarts years... and I use the next chapters of their adult lives to create a world of how I think it might've happened... a lot happens in your lifetime from how you think from being a child, a teenager, to an adult. Your mindset matures and changes with every stage.

I wanted to bring attention to everyone to please be mindful of your words, because they can really hurt. So please... I beg you, let's all try to be nicer to one another. Wattpad used to be so much fun... it's taken a drastic turn I've noticed over the past few years. And I'm subconsciously thinking, damn... maybe this is why I've kept away for so long too? To not see this meanness anymore... but I'm hopeful, times will change and being nice will overcome. But, on a last note... I want to thank you, and especially thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my readers and supporters of my stories. I love you all. And I see you all my darlin's... 🥰 And I hope I can reach those who don't care as much for my stories, to hopefully change their minds one day. So be open minded when you're reading my stories. It's a roller coaster of emotions, and I'm here to help us all get away for awhile from all the stresses of our day to day lives and share some love and a laugh or two...

And... for crying out fucking loud, drink some giggle water and relax. It's just not that serious y'all... And I want to thank everyone for your support once more... I have over 900,000 views, almost 1 million, on this story and I just can't believe it!! This was my first Dramione ever. I loved creating it and I can't wait to finish up my other Dramione stories. And I hope all this cruelty goes away by the time I return to update. Thank you again! I love you all...

POV: Hermione Granger. September 1, 2000.

It's been two years now that the war has been over. I graduated from Hogwarts in 1999 and Ron and I were married this past summer in June.

The wedding was beautiful and everything we could have imagined. Except for the fact my parents weren't there... Their memories can never be restored. We tried everything and I finally have accepted I needed to move on with my life with my new family and my new husband, Ronald Weasley. I always felt apart of them. They welcomed me as one of their own after my fifth year at Hogwarts. It took a bit longer with me to becoming accepted into the Weasley's, rather than Harry... Because, Mrs. Weasley wasn't too fond of the perceived 'Hermione Granger...' she believed that ratchet woman, Rita Skeeter's lies in the 'Daily Prophet.' Nevertheless, I eventually won her over, and now I'm one of them.

Everything was back to normal. Ron was working at the joke shop with George and helping him cope with the loss of Fred over these past few years. George really has come back around since Ron started working with him.

I was working at the Ministry of Magic as the Senior Undersecretary of the Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. I loved my new position and had worked really hard for the past year to achieve this remarkable opportunity.

Harry was working as an Auror here at the ministry. In fact, he was very close to becoming the new Head Auror of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

We didn't see each other often at work. But almost every weekend, Ron and I were with him and Ginny. Harry and Ginny were married in November and she was now five months pregnant. Ron kept bugging me about wanting a baby. But I was not ready. Thank Merlin for birth control...

💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫

The ministry was preparing for the Quidditch World Cup this next summer in August. We had been extremely busy organizing and planning this event. And it was just beginning...

We had our first meeting this morning with the new head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports. No one knew who this person was yet because Kingsley hired him or her last week. And Kingsley wanted everyone to be surprised.

I gathered the parchments tucking them neatly inside a folder for the minister as well as my belongings and glanced at my watch on my wrist. I was running late and the meeting started in five minutes.

I left my office and quickly headed to the meeting room a few doors from mine.

I was looking through my folder to make sure I had everything and wasn't paying attention to the person I accidentally bumped into.

I dropped my parchments along with everything else I was carrying and I glanced up to apologize to the person I ran into.

"Oh please forgive me. I wasn't paying attention. I'm late for the Quidditch World Cup meeting. I..." I stopped talking immediately after I saw the person I ran into wheeling around.

The man was tall, wearing an expensive black suit, black shiny wingtip leather shoes, and ice cold slicked back blonde hair.

Draco Malfoy.

He gave me a wicked smile and I could smell his hauntingly fragrant cologne that always made me like the way he smelled. But that was the only thing I ever liked about him.

"Well, well, well. Mrs. Weasley? I presume?" He darkly mocked in poking fun at my decisions.

"I kept my maiden name thank you very much, Malfoy. And yes, I DID marry Ronald." I sneered at him and informed Draco that indeed married Ron.

Draco huffed aloud and smiled at me shaking his head.

I rolled my eyes and pulled my wand out of my skirt that I kept close by in my waist, summoning the papers to come back together neatly in the folder while Draco taunted me again.

"What are you doing here Granger?" He sarcastically questioned me.

"I work here Malfoy. I could ask you the same question!" I was furious at his teasing that he'd been doing for almost ten years.

He didn't answer my question but instead came back with a refutations attitude to make my hair in a French twist almost unhinge in fury ready to battle.

"What do you do here at the ministry?" He spoke while smiling and placing his hands in pockets of his fancy trousers.

"I'm the senior undersecretary to the Minister of Magic." I proudly informed him winning this silly banter.

"Of course you are." Draco said arrogantly provoking me once more.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I gave him a warning look to try to undermine me and see what happens.

"Only that you've always been very driven and you've been out of school what... almost two years? And you're already at a high ranking position here at the ministry. It's very impressive. I mean for fuck sakes, you ARE Hermione Granger." Draco then started eyeing me up and down licking his lips and dirtily grinned.

"Thanks for the profanity in a backhanded compliment." I was now ready to charge at him.

"You never answered me. What are you doing here?!" I raised my voice as a couple of on lookers stared at my sudden outburst and I smiled at them assuring I had the situation under control.

"I'm attending your meeting for the Quidditch World Cup conference." Draco finally answered me gloating.

"For what?" I was shocked and then I felt my stomach dropped as I watched his lips mouth aloud.

"I'm the Head of Department of Magical Games and Sports. I just started last week." He raised his eyebrows smiling that damn arrogant smile.

"You're the new Head of Magical Games and Sports?!" I cynically mocked him and Kingsley's decision clutching my folder in my arms that had finished organizing itself.

"Oooo..." Draco pursed darkly and moaned stepping forward to be closer to me, getting in my face and whispered. "Does that sting Granger?" Opening his mouth clenching his teeth together and sucking in his right cheek, he winked at me.

"Shove off, Malfoy." I pushed him with my shoulder knocking into his chest walking around his body as he watched me walk away from him.

He followed behind me as I could hear his fancy shoes hitting the tile floor.

"Wheeeet Whooo." Draco whistled in cat calling at me. I turned around to face him rolling my eyes at that wicked smirk across his face and turned into the office where the meeting was being held.

I sat down next to Kingsley handing him the parchments. "Here are the land permits and the..." I looked up as Draco sat directly in front of me. I glared at him giving him a go to hell look.

"Is everything alright Hermione?" Kingsley noticed my tension and I quickly recovered finishing my sentence handing over the folder. "Yes, as well as the tent registrations for all the countries."

Everyone else came filing in and Kingsley made his big announcement.

"Before we begin... I'd like to introduce our new Head of Magical Games and Sports. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Draco Malfoy in his new position." Kingsley clapped and soon everyone else followed along with utter shock smeared across their faces.

I took out my quick quill and notepad to document the meeting. Draco stood and thanked everyone for the warm reception and began his speech and plans for the Quidditch World Cup.

I listened to Draco in anger remembering how much I hated him.

The foul, loathsome, evil, little cockroach...

He wouldn't stop eyeing me during his speech. What was his point? Why was he staring at me? I decided to read his mind with my legilimency skills, hoping he wouldn't notice what I was doing.

"God Damn... That Granger. She's still the sexiest woman I've ever seen in my life. She's tortured me for a decade. If only she knew what I wanted to do to her..."

I immediately stopped feeling my breakfast rising up my throat. But for some reason, in that same moment, I felt a twinge of excitement firing between my thighs. Draco's liked me all this time? I felt nauseous and stimulatingly nervous.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity, Minister. I look forward to planning this event with you all and I assure you... I will not disappoint you." Draco concluded his meeting and smiled in my direction again.

Kingsley stood up and went to shake Draco's hand as they laughed and embraced in their achievable future working together. More wizards and witches came up to Draco to congratulate him on his new appointed career.

Kingsley left and I stood up to leave to return to the comfort of my office.

I sat at my desk when I heard a knock on the siding of the door. I looked up and Draco was leaning in the entryway with his arms folded and his right foot crossed over the other, while smiling with intention behind those shivering blue eyes.

"Would you care to join me for lunch Granger?"

"Why would I do that Malfoy?" I bitterly asked.

"Oh come on Granger. I won't bite you. Unless... you want me to?" He grimaced and sadistically gestured.

"I'm a married woman, Malfoy." I reminded him in suggesting to watch his manners thinking to myself. Sure, Draco Malfoy minding his attitude and me acting as if he has morals.

"Is it against the law to take a married woman to lunch?" Draco mocked.

I was silent giving him that same death stare.

"Oh, come on. I want to catch up with my old nemesis." Draco smiled and teased.

"Fine. I'll take you to the 7 Bistro down the way. That's where we all go for lunch if we didn't bring something from home. It's ran by a pure blood wizard family so you should be comfortable." I scoffed at him referring to his obsession with pure blood wizardry.

Draco rolled his eyes and stood off the door frame waiting for me.

I grabbed my bag and wand ready to strike him if he tried anything.

I brushed against Draco as he touched the small of my back while leaving my office.

I jerked forward to keep him from touching me any longer. Even though, secretly... I enjoyed Draco's touch... what is wrong with me?

Oooooo!!!! Stay tuned!!! Thanks for reading!!! 😘😘😘
