It was going on two days that Eli was missing. Elliot and Liv were going nuts working on Ursa's case while Fin and Munch worked on Eli's side of the case. It seemed every lead they got turned out to be a dud. Elliot didn't know how, but he knew that Wesley was responsible for the kidnappings and Ursa's molestation. They all knew the longer Eli and the other girl was missing, the less likely it was that they were dead.
It was something that Elliot didn't want to think about. He was working overtime to produce just a single lead for the other families and to keep his mind off Eli. Liv had taken a day off to spend it at home while the older kids went to their classes at college for the first time in a few days. Lucy was working for her other families and couldn't make it until tomorrow.
Elliot sighed and collapsed in his chair. He just got back from talking with the people at Wesley's Bronx Garage about his part of the case. The man had came in yesterday to get the car's wheels changed. All four were nearly bald. "Cap, the garage still has the tires the van had yesterday. Send CSU to the garage to get the tires."
"Got it. Oh and Elliot, Munch and Fin think they have a lead on the guy that's in the video. A man saw him buying some first aid stuff at a corner store a couple blocks from Central Park. They're on the way there, I'm calling Liv and having her meet you guys over there." Cragen said.
Munch and Fin were already at the store talking to the clerk when Elliot and Liv got there in their separate cars. Fin greeted them as they walked up to him. "Hey, clerk said he was buying first aid stuff and candy by the buckets. Main candy is three musketeers."
Elliot and Liv exchanged worried looks. "That's Eli's favorite candy," Liv muttered while Elliot went to talk to the clerk himself.
"No security cameras, but we're canvassing the whole block," Fin said, watching Elliot walk away from the clerk in a huff. "He's loosing it, Liv."
"His son was kidnapped," Liv responded simply.
Munch called them over two doors down. "Security camera works and caught the way the guy went. He walked, meaning he's close to here."
Liv and Elliot glanced around. Munch pointed the way that the man walked. "He went that way. There's an empty house down the road and around the corner."
Elliot and Liv started running towards the house. They didn't know what the house looked like, but there was a good chance that the gray van would be in front of the house. Just as they suspected, there was an old red house on the corner that had a gray van parked on the street in front of the house. The grass was way overgrown and vines crawling up the house. Paint was chipped on the porch and part of the fence was broken.
Fin motioned that he was heading to the back. Elliot nodded as they all got out their guns. Munch had just arrived in the car and headed for the back where Fin had nearly disappeared at. They sneaked up the front door and tried it. It was open. It was dusty and dark. However it was light enough for them to be able to see.
They saw Fin and Munch down the hall checking the kitchen and back areas. Liv went to the right to check the living room while Elliot checked the dining room on the left. There were signs that there might be an injury, which worried both Liv and Elliot. Not only for Eli, but for the other girl as well.
When Fin and Munch met them at the base of the stairs, shaking their head, Elliot motioned up the stairs and they all nodded, falling in line behind him. There were three bedrooms, two on the right one on the left. Fin and Munch went on the right while Elliot and Liv went to the left.
They stopped shortly at the door. A man was speaking. "Okay, this will hurt a little."
Elliot wasted no time slamming into the door. "Police! UP AGAINST THE WALL!"
It was the man from the video that they had been chasing for two days. The girl that was missing was on the bed, her pants torn at the knee with a deep cut. Blood was running down her leg and she had tears in her eyes. "DAD! LIV!" They turned to the door to the bathroom. Eli was tied to the old desk leg by the bathroom.
The man stood up and grabbed the girl. "We're walking out of here." He had her by the throat and was squeezing. The girl was trying to scream but was couldn't. She started kicking her legs and the man grabbed the girls legs and held her tighter.
"Let her go,"Elliot ordered, stepping forward. Liv slipped behind him. Pointing her gun at the man, she knelt down and untied Eli. He leaped on Liv as she pulled him as close to her as possible. She backed up as Fin stepped in front of her with Munch beside him.
The man looked panicked as three guns pointed at him. He backed up against the window. "Let the girl go, dirtbag!" Fin repeated.
Elliot stepped forward, eyes looking manic, panting hard. The man swallowed and sighed. He squeezed the girls throat harder, looking directly into Elliot's eyes. He rushed forward as the girl passed out. The man tossed her to the floor as she passed out and Elliot tackled him against the wall. "Hands behind your back!"
"OW! You're hurting me!" the man complained.
Scoffing, Elliot cuffed him. "You're lucky you're even alive right now."
Munch and Fin were huddled over the girl. "She's got a pulse still. Jackass just made her pass out." Fin said, lifting the girl up in her arms.
"This is detective Munch, I need a bus at the abandoned house on the corner of Adams and West street." (FYI never been to New York so I don't know many street names.)
Elliot lead the man out of the house to a patrol car where the officer in uniform took him. Elliot tightened his fist as he watched the officer put him in the back seat of the car a little too nicely for his liking. "Dad!" Elliot turned to the voice.
Eli was in Liv's arms, dirty and clothes torn. Elliot went to him and enveloped him and Liv in his arms. Eli buried his head in his father's chest and sighed deeply. Elliot kissed Liv's head then Eli's. He was so thankful that Eli was alive that he didn't hear one of the buses that was called to the scene ask to see Eli.
The EMT had a bag with him and waited patiently as they broke apart from their small group hug. The EMT followed Liv and Eli to the bus and checked over Eli thoroughly. After fifteen minutes and the second bus showing up for the girl, they stepped back from Eli. Liv and Elliot were waiting behind them slightly impatient.
"He's fine, just a little banged up around the wrists from being tied so tightly. I'd definitely have a shrink check up on him as well, though," the EMT said, letting Liv take Eli back into her arms.
They all went back to the station house, leaving CSU to deal with the scene and van. Cragen was waiting with Huang when Elliot, Liv, and Eli walked in. Liv had called Cragen on the way over and asked to make sure Huang was there to check on Eli before she took him home.
An hour later, Huang lead Eli out of the interview room to Elliot and Liv's desk. He rushed to Elliot and gave him a hug. Huang smiled at them. "He's fine. A little shaken up, but I don't foresee anything that will cause harm to his mental state growing up. I would suggest trying to get Kathy to see him, though. He really misses her."
"Stay here and draw, Eli," Elliot told his son, giving him a pencil and a scrap piece of paper. Liv, Huang, and Elliot walked a few feet away to where Eli was out of earshot. "I've tried over and over again. She won't even see me."
Huang nodded. "Yes, It took a lot of convincing before I even could talk to her. She seems to have really regressed and trying to hide from the world."
"What do we do? Eli needs his mother," Liv said, crossing her arms. She loved that boy like her own, but she knew that he needed his own mother just as much as her.
They all looked over at Eli drawing a picture of the family. Huang went over to Eli and watched. "That's a nice drawing, Eli."
"Thanks, that's dad, Maureen, Kathleen, Lizzie, Dickie, Ethan, Sean, Ryan, and Via," Eli explained. "That's me on the far end."
Huang pointed to a person. "Whose that?"
Eli looked at the person he drew. "Liv, she lives with us now instead of mom."
"Does that make you feel sad?"
Eli shrugged and didn't say anything. Huang looked at Elliot and Liv worriedly. "You miss your mom?" Huang asked. Eli nodded, looking from Elliot to Huang.
"I miss mom, but that doesn't mean I don't like living with Liv. I'm glad to have Sean, Ryan, and Via as my little siblings." Eli hurriedly tried to explain.
Elliot went to his son and bend down beside him. "I'll try harder to get your mother to see you, okay?" Eli smiled and nodded.
"Thanks George," Liv said with a half smile. Huang nodded and excused himself.
"I'm going to head over to the hospital and check on Kathy. See if she's any better." He explained.
Elliot watched him try to leave, but he called him back. Huang waited farther away. "How is she?" Elliot asked in a quieter voice.
Huang sighed heavily. "She's still not eating. I've tried to get her to see the older kids, but she refuses. Says she doesn't want them to see her like this."
Elliot sighed and thanked him. He wished that Kathy would want to see their kids. However, he knew she wasn't strong enough. He called Eli over and he, Liv, and Eli left to take him home where the rest of the gang was waiting to greet him. Tomorrow, they would have to talk to the man, find out his name and why he did what he did.
