After Grimlock and the Dinobots took Sideswipe in, they began training him on how to fight, and how to survive, and they taught him what it means to be a Dinobot. At first, it didn't go well as Sideswipe was having a hard time learning how to roar like a Dinobot. But then as the days passed, Sideswipe began to do good during his training with the Dinobots who were now his family.

TWO YEARS LATER...

Sideswipe was relaxing while stargazing when Grimlock went to speak with him.

Grimlock: Sideswipe?

Sideswipe: Oh, hey Grimlock. What's up?

Grimlock: Me Grimlock came to tell you that we Dinobots are running low on Energon. Me Grimlock was wondering if you would help us on our mission to find more Energon?

Sideswipe: Are you sure you want me to help you guys find more Energon? But where would we find them?

Grimlock: We Dinobots search for Energon at mines. But our mission would be risky as Primus knows if Decepticon scum or even Shockwave will find us and keep us from getting more Energon.

Sideswipe: Shockwave? Do you mean the One-Eyed Decepticon scientist?

Grimlock: Yes. Remember when we Dinobots told you about Shockwave and how he tortured and experimented on us?

Sideswipe: Yes, I remember that. He sounds like a mad scientist. I'm sorry that he treated you and the Dinobots like lab rats many stellar cycles ago.

Grimlock: Do not worry. We Dinobots managed to escape from that evil Decepticon scientist. Do let Grimlock know when you're ready to help Dinobots on our mission to get more Energon.

Sideswipe considered Grimlock's offer to help him and the Dinobots find more Energon despite their dismay and despite the risk that they will be caught and killed by the Decepticons. One hour later, Sideswipe went over to meet Grimlock and the Dinobots are they were about to be ready on their mission to travel over to the Energon Mines to get more Energon cubes despite the risk.

Sideswipe: Grimlock! I've decided to help you and the Dinobots with your mission to get more Energon.

Grimlock: This is good news. Follow us but be cautious when we travel to Energon mines. The Decepticons might be there and they might be expecting us.

Sideswipe: I understand, Grimlock.

Sludge: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go find some more Energon.

Grimlock: Follow me Grimlock's lead.

Later that night, Sideswipe followed Grimlock and the Dinobots over to the Energon mines. But before they could go inside, they went into hiding and they saw some Vehicons and Decepticon miners mining for some Energon. Sideswipe knew that his Dinobot family and Grimlock were serious when they said that their mission would be risky.

Sideswipe: So what's the plan, Grimlock?

Grimlock: *looks at Sideswipe* You distract the guards by luring them away with your dinobot calls and don't be seen when We Dinobots enter the mine. We will call to join us and you'll be on the lookout for any Decepticons or Shockwave.

Sideswipe: Got it Grimlock and this will be the perfect time to put on my armor that I made.

Sideswipe puts on bone-like armor on him to avoid being recognize and putting his mask on. Sideswipe had made this armor and mask out of scrap metal months ago, it was not easy for him to make it right as he did a lot of practices and he finally made it right.

Sideswipe stealthily got out of their hiding spot as he did a Brontosaurus call and a Velociraptor screech to sound like Sludge and Slash.

Guard #1: Did you hear that? It's one of the Dinobots. 

Sideswipe: *imitating the Dinobots*

Guard #2: I hear it too! They're this way.

The guards head towards the direction of Sideswipe's Dinobot calls as he runs away and following Grimlock's instructions to not be seen. The Dinobots are impressed.

Sludge: Him Sideswipe did well of Me Sludge's call in Dino mode.

Slash: He is very good at doing my calls in Dino mode and makes me as his sister proud.

Slug: Me Slug wished that Him Sideswipe did Him Grimlock's roar.

Grimlock: Sideswipe is taking his time to do Me Grimlock's roar, Dinobots, let's go.

Grimlock and the Dinobots came out of their hiding spot and enters the mine as Grimlock contacts Sideswipe.

Grimlock: Sideswipe, We Dinobots are in.

Sideswipe: Copy that Grimlock, I'm on my way.

At the further part of the mine...

Sideswipe knocks out the guards from behind and quickly makes his way towards the mine.

Sideswipe enters the mine as he is now with Grimlock.

Grimlock: You know in your part?

Sideswipe: Yes, keep a lookout.

Sideswipe goes in front them as he looks out for any Decepticons or Shockwave in here.

Snarl: Oh, look out for the Insecticons. They're really nasty ones, We Dinobots fought them off during our escape from Shockwave.

Sideswipe: Yeah, I can't forget those guys either.

Sideswipe peaks his helm in where the energon is recently mine and looks around for any Decepticons or Shockwave as there is no one there.

Sideswipe: All clear *They enter the center of the mine* I guess the miners are taking a break.

Sideswipe, Grimlock, and Dinobots picked up the Energon crystals and putting them in a cart that Slug is hauling.

Scorn: Do we have to only full half of the cart with Energon when we are low on it?

Sideswipe: I'm sorry Scorn, we can't take all of it, because the Decepticons will know that we're here and we don't want to draw any attention.

Grimlock: Him Sideswipe is right, Scorn. *turns to Slug* Okay, Slug, let's go.

Slug pulls the cart as they head towards the exit. The Decepticon miners came back from their break and spotted Slash, who is behind the Dinobots. She gasped when they saw her.

Miners: Intruders!

Slash: We've been spotted!

They quickly run away as the miners called for the guards.

Miner: The Dinobots are here and they stolen some Energon! Get Shockwave.

After, Sideswipe and the Dinobots exit all the Vehicons appeared and are shooting stun blasts at them. Shockwave's orders are to capture the Dinobots and not blowing up the Energon.

Grimlock: Sideswipe! Slug! Swoop! You guys go, we'll hold them off!

Sideswipe: Okay! Slug, get going!

Slug wastes no time as he races off to their base. Swoop strikes down the jet Vehicons as Sideswipe strikes the the car Vehicons with an electric prod. Then a large blast came as it almost tripped Slug. Sideswipe turns his attention towards the blast as he sees a large purple tank chasing them and he turns to the Dinobots.

Sideswipe: I assume that tank is Shockwave?

Slug and Swoop: Yes!

The Vehicons came to Shockwave's side, waiting for his orders.

Shockwave: You take care the rest of the Dinobots at the mine, I'll take care of them.

The Vehicons turned around as they fly and drive towards the Energon mine. Shockwave kept blasting them in his tank mode trying to make Slug trip.

Sideswipe: Is Shockwave crazy? He knows that if he misses, he'll blow up the Energon!

Swoop: Shockwave is smarter than he looks, he'll do anything to capture us. He's only blasting to make Slug loose his footing.

Sideswipe thinks of something to get Shockwave out of the way, so they can get the Energon to the base safely. Then that's what hit him.

Sideswipe: Swoop, grab me and place me on Shockwave, I'll hold him of as long as I can.

Swoop: Are you sure about this? Remember what we told you how capable he is?

Sideswipe: I know and yes, I'm sure.

Swoop grabs Sideswipe by the shoulders and he places him on top of Shockwave as Swoop head towards back to Slug. Sideswipe begins punching Shockwave in his tank mode, Shockwave swerves as he tries to get Sideswipe off of him.

Shockwave: I find your attempts to stop me to be...illogical.

Shockwave got Sideswipe off as he transforms into his robot mode. Sideswipe lands on his back and then he gets up. He charges at Shockwave as they began fighting. Sideswipe has been trained street-fighting from Tap-Out long ago before he ran away. Shockwave blocks and dodges Sideswipe's strikes as Sideswipe is being careful to deal with the Decepticon mad scientist.

Shockwave: Your thoughts of beating me is illogical. A lot of Autobots tried and lost. 

Sideswipe: I'm not trying to beat you, I'm keeping you busy.

Sideswipe tries to kick Shockwave, but he dodged it as he wraps Sideswipe around with his arm cannon and used his free servo to remove Sideswipe's mask. Shockwave takes a look at Sideswipe after he removed his mask.

Shockwave: So you're Sideswipe that the Vehicon mentioned after you and the other two Dinobots got away.

Sideswipe struggles to get free from Shockwave's grip as he headbutts Shockwave in the face and he lets go of him.

Sideswipe: *puts his mask back on* Knowing my name won't be enough, Shockwave. I'll keep hiding as you'll never find me. *transforms into his vehicle mode and drove off*

Shockwave: *aims his arm cannon at Sideswipe* Illogical, you won't be hiding soon. *preparing to kill Sideswipe until a spiky tail came and whacked Shockwave as it messed his aim*

Snarl: And you're not gonna kill, Him Sideswipe! 

Grimlock and the rest of the Dinobots run to Sideswipe's side.

Grimlock: Why aren't you with Slug and Swoop?

Sideswipe: Shockwave was on our tail, but I managed to hold off to buy them enough time to get back to the base.

Grimlock: You did a great job, Sideswipe. Me Grimlock proud of you.

The next morning...

Sideswipe was doing his training with the Dinobots. He is doing tracking lessons with Slash. Sideswipe puts his servo on a footprint and examines it.

Sideswipe: Insecticon...a male....his insect mode is a beetle...and he was here two weeks ago.

Slash: *examines the footprint to be sure if Sideswipe's description is correct* Correct.

Sideswipe: Yes!

Grimlock: *approaches Sideswipe* Sideswipe...it's time we need to train you more, after your encounter with Shockwave last night is the beginning and he'll be looking up about you. Your strengths, weaknesses, and your background. We Dinobots need you to be prepared when you meet Shockwave again.

Sideswipe: Understood, Grimlock and...*sighs* I hope he won't find my brother and stepfather.

Grimlock: *puts his servo on Sideswipe's shoulder* They'll be okay...even with Primus shut down, he'll look after them.

Sideswipe: Thanks, Grim.
