Once upon a time, there were two deities who lived a peaceful life in a ruin in the middle of space. The wiser of the two controlled sunlight and gave the big blue planet Earth it's daylight. The other who was the more foolish of the two controlled the night atmosphere and gave Earth it's nighttime. The two would switch places on directing their powers on different spots on the earth. This would create the day and night we all know. The balance for the longest time was perfect between the two entities. Both respected each other and their porpoise. Everyday was the same. They would cast their powers on earth and switch places every twelve hours. But one day was different. Day had foreseen it coming. But it happened when Day had least expected it. It started when Night asked about the Daylight and what it did. Day explained that the daylight brought brightness to the world. It made people awake and active. Night understood this and asked if people did anything at nighttime. Day answered by explaining that that is when people sleep. They also can't see very well. Night nodded sadly and went back to casting night. A few days later, Day went to trade places with Night when suddenly, Night attacked by shooting the Darkness at Day. Day fell to the ground in pain. Night was growing more and more furious. Night said that it was no fair that everyone enjoyed daytime. Night said that he would kill Day and steal daylight to have people honor him. Day sighed. Day tried to explain that it was wrong to steal the daylight and the dangerous consequences it would have. Night ignored Day and shot more darkness at Day. Day knew Night wouldn't stop and finally attacked with daylight. Both held on their attacks. However, the daylight was more powerful and knocked Night to the floor. Day helped Night up and said that they shouldn't be fighting. The powers were meant to work together not against each other. Night sighed and said that nobody enjoyed the nighttime. Day shook its head. Day responded saying people enjoyed the nighttime as much as daytime. Some even preferred the Night. Day also said people did many different activities in the night including dreaming and campfire stories and star watching. Night thought about it. Night saw Day's point and decided that the two should continue their roles in peace. Day agreed with a handshake and from that day on, the entities continued their job until something happened a month later.
