12: Trouble at the docks

As soon as we docked I knew something was wrong. There was no one except for gaurds and they were looking at us. "Whose those guys in the awesome armour?" Demetri asked, his eyes big in wonder. "That is gaurds." He frowned and started walking towards them. I ran towards him,"Stop! What are you doing?" He gulped in suprise and shock. "What do you mean?" Someons put their hand in my shoulder. "Excuse me, sir. May I know your name?" I wirled around and looked into the face of a gaurds. "No, you may not. Can you not see I am talking to my friend?" His fingers dug into my skin. I did not winch. "Do not talk to a gaurd in such tone, boy. Tell me your name." I turned back to Demetri, ignoring the gaurd. Heira stood next to him. "I think we must do a tracking-spell to find the staff. Heira, will you do it and Demetri go find us horses." Demetri ran off and Heira started chanting. Behind me the gaurds turned me around and I intoduched him to my fist. He fell to the ground, unconsious. "You cannot do that to a gaurd. Come with me." Two gaurds grabbed me from the sides. "Do you think two mere gaurds will stop me?" The man laughed,"No, but two vamipres would." I looked at him in shock. "Do you know who I am?" I could not believe my ears. Vampire gaurds? "No, but by the smell of you, you are not mortal nor are you a wizard or vampire. What are you?" Is he also a vampire. "Tell me what you are." He laughed and told the gaurds to take me to his bunker. There I was bound with bronze chains. The man stood in front of me. "My name is Roose Goldfinger. I am a vampire as are most of the people of Kea. Who are you, boy?" An island full of vampires? I sighed, defeated,"My name is Alexander Hess, you shall know the rest of my identity." Roose smiled and called a gaurd. "Send word to king Amadeus, we have his son. Also remember to mention the fifty-thousand dracma rewards. No leave." The gaurd saluted Roose and left. Roose turned back to me. "Fifty-thousand dracmas? Do I mean so little to my father?" Roose walked to his table and sat down. "You see, Prince, you father said he would double the prise if you were dead or something. Since you are a vampire you will only die for a few hours. So let us make this quick. Also tell me where your friends are." I sighed in relief. At least they were safe. "I refuse." Roose frowned and walked towards me. "Boy, listen here. Prince or no prince, you will not talk to me in that manner! Now tell me where your friends are." I laughed at him to feul his fury. "Roose, I do not listen to lesser beings." I lied even though sometimes it was true. "Whatch yout mouth! If you will not tell then I will force it out of you. Do you remember that plant that can hurt vampires? Bronos, bring the plant!" I stared at him in horror. When I was two years old I accidently ate Ekdikeó(the name of the plant). I was sick for more than a fortnight  and it took another fortnight to heal my burn wounds. "You must not! It is dangerous for me!" The door opened and a gaurd entered with a glove and the plant in his hand. First he handed the glove to Roose and when the glove was on Roose's hand, he gave him the plant. "Go." The gaurd left through the door. "I thought you were going to kill me." The commander brushed the Edikeó against my cheek. It burned my skin yet I did not yell out. "I will, but first I am going to have fun with you. It is not everyday you get to torture a prince, no better, to torture Prince Alexander Hess!" I grimance in disgust. "I will not be tortured by a low island gaurd!" He laughed as he puched the plant against my cheek again. I winched in pain. Roose pulled the plant lover over my neck onto my torso. He ripped my tunic off, fortunately only the top part. The Edikeó burned my chest and this time I did scream. "Stop!" I screamed in pain. Roose laughed in joy. "Ple- no! If you continue I will tell my father." His expression showed he was afraid and I knew he was mocking me.  Behind me the door opened and Heirs and Demetri bursted in. "Step away from the prince!" Heira said and Demetri growled, he was a dragon. Roose let the plant fell onto my torso and turned towards my companions. I winched in pain and for the first time I saw a daggar in Heira's hand. "Little girl and her pet dragon, who are you to give commands to me?" Roose bellowed in fury. Heir did not so much as flinch. "I am Heira Snow of the Crause witches and this is Demetrius. We came her to save Alexander of house Hess." Roose laughed and looked at me with an excited gleam in his eyes. "A little girl and her pet dragon came to save you! I am so frightened!" He mocked us. I gave a low growl as my talons and fangs grew out. My eyes were also darker and I was straining against the bond. The Ekdikeó plant only enraged my fury making me more powerful. Heira ran towards Roose with sword in hand. Roose met her with his own sword and you could hear the sound of steel on steel. "Heira, entertain him, I will be free in a moment." She nodded and spared with him. I strained against my bonds and found that he had used Ekdikeó and magic on the bonds, weakening me. I had no other choice,"My apologies, Demetrius." He cocked his head in confusion and I whispered one word. Suddenly I warged into him and had control of his body. I looked at where my body were on the chair, the toxic plant was turning my skin an ashy colour. Yet I first had to help Heira and then save myself. With a mighty roar I ran at vampire speed and blew out scorcing hot flames. Roosed and Heira ducked to oppiste sides. I charged towards Roose, baring me teeth. "Who is now the most powerful, Roose?" I mocked him in a raspy voice. Both he and Heira looked at me in fear. "Heira, go to the door." She did as she was told. I turned back to Roose. "Now you will pass." I blew fire on him and it was done. Suddenly I warged back into my body, feeling weak and tired. "Untie me please." My companions looked at me in fear and slowly they started to move towards me. The last thing I remembered was Demetri glaring at me, in his human form.
