10:Dreams tell stories
Shortly, about four days, after our encounter with the mortal, I became very tired which was unusual so I knew someone wanted to show me something. "We need to rest." I told my companions. Their eyes showed confusion yet they did not say a word. "I need to sleep. Heira, you are on first watch. Demetri, you follow her. I will not stand watch and do not wake me unless one of you is dying." I unmounted, took a straw mat out of my saddlepouch and layed it on the ground. After that I went to sleep.
Lycus was in a throne room waiting for someone. He was clad in armor with his staff in hand. Suddenly the doors opened and my grandfather entered. Did he know Lycus? "Lycus, what has gone into you?" Alexander questioned, taking out his sword. "Alexander Hess, I have come to overthrow you and curse this place with horrific plagues. Yield and no blood will be spilled." My grandfather was as stubborn as ever. "No, I will not. I should have known you would. I have warned Amadeus against your daughter, Cassandra. I told him she and you whould use him to get close to our family and overthrow me. Yet he did not listen and now my words are proven right." Cassandra? Lycus advanced towards my grandfather. "You leave the children out of this." Behind my grandfather the doors opened. "Father, Lord Dominic is requesting to see- Lycus what are you doing?" My father asked in suprise. Behind him Cassandra appeared. "Father, what are you doing?" Lycus frowned and loomed at Cassandra. "Dear, please go. Father will be back." She left, but my father stayed. "Amadeus, tell Dominic I will se him shortly. Now leave." My father bowed stifly and left. "Let us continue." Lycus said. I knew they were discussing serious matters yet I felt I needed to follow my father. I left the throne room and walked to where my father was. He was talking to Lord Dominic. Cassandra was nowhere to be seen. "King Alexander Hess said he will see you in a few minutes. May I ask what the fault is?" Lord Dominic frowned and sighed loudly. "Do not tell a soul, but a few of the other houses such as Dorn, Stone, Rek and others are siding with Lycus to overthrow you father. I must not say more, but heed my warning, do not trust the daughter of Lycus. She had the blood of evil in her veins." My father glared at him. "Cassandra is a good, innocent soul. She can not hurt a soul." From the throne room shouting and fighting were heard. My father called for the gaurds and ran to the room. I followed them. On the inside my grandfather had Lycus pinned to the ground. He had a few cut on them, but they were already healing. "Father, what happened?" Alexander looked at his son. "This man is a turncloak. Gaurds, take him away." They gaurds took Lycus and took him out of the room.
My dream changed.
I was still in the palace, but it was in the present. My father sat on his throne looking awful. His hair hung loosly, his eyes were sunken and he looked thinner. "Where are you?" He murmered and I realised he was sleeping. "If I find you, you will regret what you did." The doors opened and Jason entered with Meraki at his side. The horse neighed as if she new I was here. "Your grace?" Jason asked uncertainly. My father woke and glared at him. "What?" Jason gulped and walked foward. "Twice your son has been caught and both times he had escaped. The Lord Commander of Poka said he was with two companions. I think they are Heira and Demetri." Amadeus nodded and stood up. "Yes, I knew it was them. Any news on the vampire-trackers? How far are they?" Jason twitched his fingers nervously. "They are near Alexander's location. They will catch up on them in less than two days. Should they kill him to make it easier to bring him back?" My father shook his head. "No, I want the palace with to flash to the trackers. When they reach Alexander she must do a frozen spell to freeze the trio in time. I do not want them killed. Now go." Jason mounted on Meraki and left. My father slumped back into his throne. "I will find you, Alexander." He said as if he knew I was here. I willed my self to wake and before I left the dream, my father looked directly at me and growled.
"Wake up, Alexander!" I sprang onto my feet, knocking someone to the ground. The person growled and I looked down to see Demetri in his dragon form, laying on his back. "Look where you're going." He said in my head. I pulled him up by his claw and he turned back into a human. "Why did you wake me?" I asken even though I knew I was waking myself. "Heira, she had a dream. You must hear what happened!" I sighed. He woke me to hear what happened in a dream? "Fine. Take me to her." Demetri led me to where Heira was sitting. Somehow she had found othet clothes when I looked at Demetri saw he also was dressed in fresh clothes. "Where did you get the clothes?" Heira glanced at her clothes. "I bought these for Demi and I." I looked at het confused. "Demi?" Demetri laughed. "It's Heira's nickname for me." I nodded yet I wondered why someone whould want another name. "Why did you not buy clothes for me?" Heira sighed and stood up. "It does not matter. I had a dream about your mother." Suddenly I became furious. After the meeting with my mother I felt not like myself. "What about her?" Heira looked close to tears. "I saw her death. How she died from TB, I am truly sorry." What was she talking about? "What is TB?" I invested. "It is a sickness which effects your lungs. Do you remember your mother coughed the whole time and lost weight? Well, that's symptoms of TB." This new informatiom made me uncomfortable. What other things do we not know of? "Well, thank you for telling me. We must go there are vampires on our trail and we need to reack Kea in two weeks." We mounted and before we started riding, Demetri stoped me. "What did you dream?" I turned away and told the horse to start walking. This was another horse for I left Naz in some town. "I dreamed of people and their problems. Now come, we must hurry."
