The Story
This story is going to be all in one part and all from Jerry's P.O.V. Just thought I'd let you know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I jumped around the cave system that I lived in. I never have been in the outside world. I never knew that there were these things called "trees", or "humans". I didn't even know that there was sunlight. I only knew what was in the caves.
I am a slime. I am green, bouncy, some may even say cute. My sisters and brother died in lava. As you call tell, they weren't very smart. Mama Slime died to an encounter with a very angry creeper. Now, I live alone in the caves, bouncing around until something interesting happened to me or anyone else that lived in the caves like me.
This is the story of how I met a friendly human, and how I died.
Some years after my family died, I remember overhearing some chatter between a zombie and two skeletons.
"I swear, it was a real life human. Would a weaponless zombie lie to skeletons who had bows and arrows?" the zombie said. I peaked around a corner to listen in on their conversation. I knew these skeletons all too well. They hated me, and they would not hesitate to kill me if they saw me listening in on their conversation. I only knew it was them by the small dents and cracks in their skulls, and they both had one rib missing.
"A human you say? There hasn't been a human here in many, many years," one of them said. I called him Bob. The other one, Bon, said, "True. Lets hope that we can kill him as easily as we killed the last human that came down here." They both smiled evilly at each other. I had never meet one of these "humans". I heard a lot of talk about them among the mobs. Sadly, I was the only mob that couldn't talk down here in the caves. A human looked like a healthier version of a zombie is what many said.
"I overheard him say that he was going to come down here tonight," the zombie said, making Bob and Bon even more happy.
I had memorized all the paths through this large cave system; some may even call it a riven. I knew where my small home was, where the lava was, and especially where the entrance to the cave was. It was always night when I went there, and I saw all the brave mobs roaming about, looking for something to kill. I was never brave enough to go outside the cave; I was afraid that I was going to die. Even if I had nothing to live for, I still valued my life.
So, knowing that it was day out because none of the zombies were leaving the caves, I went down to the entrance of my home. It was a small, one block opening that only I could hoop in and out of. Inside was a small, 5 by 5 room that I slept in. Sometimes I would stay in here for days at a time, just thinking to myself. But, right now, I was resting up for the night to come, ready to finally meet this human, whatever it might look like.
I laid down on a bed of vines I had collected from the vines in the cave. I closed my eyes and drifted into the darkness we call sleep.
"Holy crap!" I hear a voice echo through the caves to my home. I open my eyes and realize that the human has come. I jump out of my home and bounced down the cave to the riven. I look up and see the one human that I have ever known. He was wearing an iron chest plate only. He had an iron sword in his hand as he looked over the edge of the cliff he was standing on. He has these red and black sunglasses that didn't cover all of his blue eyes, which were filled with awe. I stayed hidden, afraid that he might kill me if he saw me. I didn't know if he was friendly, or hostile.
The next thing that he did was jump safely into the stream of water that poured onto the cavern floor. He took on the zombies, creepers, spiders, and skeletons all at once. I saw Bob and Bon get killed in the mess of things. I smiled to myself, happy that my bullies were dead with just a few swipes of a sword. Once all the mobs that had challenged him were dead, he said, "Yeah, that's right! Don't mess with CaptianSparklez!" By then, the caves were practically empty except for me and a few scared Endermen.
He turned around and saw something that made him very happy. "Oh, diamonds!" he said, running over to the gem stuck in the wall. That had always been there ever since I was young. The water had washed away the lose rock that covered the priceless item. As he mined it with an iron pickaxe, I daringly bounced out of my hiding spot. "One, two, three, three diamonds!" he said before he turned back around. I was out in the open and he had clearly seen me. Well, lets hope that he is friendly.
He stared at me curiously. "I have never seen a little slime before," he said quietly, taking small steps over to me. Putting all my trust in him, I jumped over to him. He crouched down in front of me. "Awe! What a little cutie! I'm Jordan, or CaptianSparklez," he said, placing a hand on my head in attempt to pet me. Instead, his hand just got covered in goo. I smiled as he whipped away the slimily goo. "Do you want to come with me?" he asked, holding his hand out for me to jump onto if I wanted to. I made a quick decision and hopped into his palm. He stood back up and let me rest on his shoulder.
We made our way to the entrance of the cave system I used to call home. During that time, he talked to me as though I was an actual human like he was. It made me feel nice inside. He told me that he was currently trying to build a tree house and was going to live in the caves for awhile while he was collecting resources. Finally, he wondered aloud, "What should your name be?" We walked in silence as he thought of what to name me. I personally didn't know what my name should be.
Then, out of nowhere, he practically yelled, "Jerry! That's what I'll call you!" I jumped up once, letting him know that I liked it. After that, we entered the part of the cave where he was staying. There was a bed, a crafting table, and two furnaces, along with a chest. He put away some of the ores that he had collected and put iron in one furnace and gold in the other one. Then, he took me over to a corner in the cave and made a small, 2 by 2, two block high cage out of cobblestone. He took me to arms length and said, "I'll be back to check on you soon. Don't worry, I won't forget about you, I promise." He set me down in the box and gave me one last wave good bye. Then, he was gone. He left me to go back out in the big, wide world.
Sadly, that was the last time I ever saw him when I was alive. I bounced around my new home for what seemed like forever. I heard the zombies and skeletons walk by when it was night. I soon grew hungry and thirsty. Finally, I was so deprived of food and water that I couldn't even jump around to keep myself occupied. And, he didn't come back.
Little did I know, he went on a huge adventure without me. He went to the Nether, built a huge tree house called Home Tree, and found bigger and better caves to explore. And, finally when I knew I was about to die, I let my thoughts float back to him. The whole time that I waited for him, I kept my thoughts from wondering to him. His bright blue eyes, his amazing glasses, his soft voice that could calm an angry werewolf. I let myself think 'I love and will miss him,' as my half a heart disappeared and I was gone. My life floated away like a child letting go of a balloon and watching it fly away.
I hope he would miss me as well.
It had been a few days after I had died. In my spirit form, I stayed in the caves, waiting for Jordan's return. Finally, I heard his soft voice through the caves just like when I first met him. Before I reached him, I heard him yell, "Jerry! You-you're gone! You died..." His voice trailed off as he said the last part. I made it to his side and saw his tears falling down his cheeks. I landed next to him and leaned against him. Even if he didn't know I was there, just seeing him made me happy.
"I never meant to forget about you. I went on crazy adventures without you and completely forgot. Rest in peace my little buddy," he said before leaving the cave.
After that, on the very top of his tree house, he made me a memorial and named his tree Jerry's Tree. A simple slime. That somehow changed a man's life. And watching him place the flowers down made me feel like I did matter to someone. And that someone happened to be the only human I ever met.
A month or so latter, some strange people came to my tree. All of a sudden, they took apart my tree. I thought that they were destroying it without Jordan's knowing, but I saw him with one of the people that were now rebuilding the tree. And, under the cover of the canopy of the newly built tree, they made me a new tomb. And the signs read "Here lies Jerry. He was a noble slime. May he rest in peace." And, once the tree was done, Jordan thanked the nice men who had built his new house for him and watched as they left. And, for the rest of the day, he stayed at my tomb, remembering me and the adventure we had together. And, finally, I felt at peace.
