The Great River

We sailed for a while. Some time later we passed by the Argonath, two humongous, majestic statues, carved out of the rock. One stood on each side of the river. This whole experience still felt rather unreal. Like, I'd wake up at any moment in bed back at home, or even in Rivendell.

I spent rather a lot of time looking intently at the necklace. I had tried, but the pendant would not open. I didn't want to force it, so eventually I just left it. I wondered what could be inside.

Our canoe was the fullest, somehow fitting 4 of us in a 3 person boat. I sat in front of Merry, who had Pippin behind, and ahead of me was Legolas who was paddling the boat along the river. It was a rather smooth sail, hardly any waves or bumps. I fell asleep a couple times as the boat glided softly along the water, it relaxed me quite a bit.

Us three hobbits in our boat had mentally agreed that we were okay with leaning on each other to rest. Not that there was much room not to, anyway.

I awoke as the boat stilled with a slight jolt, sitting upright causing Merry to sag forwards. I nudged him awake with a smile, he did the same with Pippin. I stepped out of the boat, desperately trying to ignore my heated cheeks.

I thanked Legolas for paddling us all that way, whilst us three were in the back resting. Though, being a strong elf like himself he brushed it off like it was nothing.

I gazed around at the new surroundings, we had reached the foot of Amon Hen. By some it was also called the hill of sight. Soon we settled on a gravel beach, and a fire was going immediately.

I noticed odd behaviour radiating from Boromir. Like he was fighting a conflict within him. Frodo had noticed too, we whispered to each other briefly about our concerns. I concluded with the fact that it was none of our business, we should respect his space, and probably lack of willingness to answer questions of curious hobbits.

Aragorn informed us that we would be crossing the lake at nightfall, to approach Mordor from the north.

After some bickering between the man and the dwarf, we settled down to rest.
