Ace Crimson Pov

I groaned as I flipped over my bed.

"Mistress Ace, you alright?" I heard Alfie asked and I nodded.

"F-fine." I stuttered as I started getting up for school but my head ached like a pile of bricks just hit it.

"Ow." I muttered as I gripped my hair. Alfie walked over and placed his hand on my forehead.

"You're sick." He said

"No. I'm not." I said as I looked at the clock. 4:00 AM. I have to get ready.

"Master Bruce will call your school. You're not going today." He said

"But Alfie, I'll miss out new lessons. I can't afford to get held back." I said as he got up and a wave of cold went through me. I quickly hid under the covers and shivered.

"You'll catch up. You need to rest. I'll tell Master Dick." He said and walked off.

"Great." I muttered as I turned over and closed my eyes. I felt a pair of lips kiss my forehead and I smiled.

"Enjoying the warmth, sunshine?" Bruce asked and I cackled weakly.

"Yeah. Very much." I muttered and he smiled.

"I'll give your homework to Dick so he can pass it for you." He said and I nodded.

"Thanks, dad." I yawned and drifted off to sleep.

Bruce Wayne Pov

I smiled as I look at my little heroine. She hates it when she gets called princess but I'm sure she'll love it when Dick calls her that someday.

"Master Bruce, Master Dick's awake." Alfred said as quietly a he can when he peeked his head in the room. I nodded and stood up. I walked over Ace's study table which is very organized and filled with homeworks and projects. I grabbed the homeworks and projects due today and walked out of her room. Dick's sitting on the couch and I smiled at him when he met my eyes.

"So she's sick? So sad." He said and I sat next to him.

"Hey Dick, how was your morning training?" I asked

"It's alright. So, how is Ace?" He asked in concern and I chuckled.

"She's resting for now. But I need to know something." I said in a serious voice and he gulped.

"Don't worry, it's not that bad. I just need you to answer honestly." I said and he nodded nervously.

"Do you like her, Dick?" I asked and he widened his eyes as a blush crept on his face.

"I-uhhh, I....." He stuttered for words and Alfred chuckled.

"Master Bruce, I believe he'll tell us when the time's right." He said and I smiled.

"These are Ace's projects and homeworks. Stay safe, Dick. Make sure to stay out of trouble. Ace won't be there to take care of you." I said as I handed the stuff to him and he cackled.

"I'll be fine, dad." He said as he stood up and I nodded.

Ace Pov

I finished the soup Alfie made for me and rest on my bed. It's already 5:45 PM. I feel so useless. This is the first time I get sick.

"Knock knock." I heard someone said and I smiled.

"Come in." I said and I felt the bed sink.

"You alright?" He asked and I nodded.

"I'm fine, Dick. How was school?" I asked as I looked at him and he smiled. He placed a wet towel on my forehead and I shivered.

"It's alright. But Babs and I missed you, though. The bullies took advantage of that and bullied us every chance they got." He sighed and I growled.

"I'll make sure those bastards will get so many bruises to design their ugly faces." I muttered as I clenched my fists and Dick grabbed my left fist.

"Don't. Just give them comebacks that we'll laugh about. No physical harm." He said and I sighed as I unclenched my fist.

"Alright, fine." I muttered and Dick's wrist computer rang.

"The team has another mission. Get well soon, Ace." He said as he kissed my forehead and I smiled.

"Stay traught, Dick." I said and he smirked.

"And you stay whelmed." He said as he squeezed my hand and walked out of my room.

"Stupid sick day." I muttered as I sneezed again.

It has been four days and I'm finally free from sickness! Dick helped me with the lessons I had to catch up to and the homeworks I had to finish.

"Recognized, Wild Card B04." I walked in the cave and saw Zatanna sitting on the couch bu the living room. The rest must still be busy. It is still early, 3:30 PM.

"Hey, Tanna. What's up?" I said as I sar beside her and she had tears in her eyes.

"W-what happened?" I asked and she suddenly hugged me as she cried on my shoulder.

"H-he's gone, Wild. He's gone." She cried as I hugged back and I soothed her back.

"Who is?" I asked

"D-dad." She stuttered and I widened my eyes.

"What happened?" I asked again and she cried even more.

"Maybe you haven't noticed. B-but Klarion tried separating the world of k-kids below 18 from t-the adults." She said

"So that explains it. Dad and Alfie didn't respond to my calls when I called for them. I just thought they're busy." I said

"Y-yeah, and I-I put the h-helmet of F-Fate to stop K-Klarion and d-dad offered himself a-as replacement f-for me." She finished and I kept on comforting her.

"Shhhh, it's ok, Tanna. Your father just wanted to live your life. You'll see him again. Alive and well. I promise." I whispered to her and she nodded as she kept on crying. I just hugged her and whispered comforting words for her.
