Thank You Note + Questions

After a year and nine months of writing this book, I've finally been able to complete this story, The Achilles Heel. I've never been this slow and laid back in writing a book before. The process of writing this book was the pure definition of vibes for real.

I had a lot of feelings throughout the process of writing this book. For the most part, I didn't like the book. My confidence in the storyline I'd created was low, somewhat non-existent even. But all of that changed when I narrated the storyline of this novel to a writer colleague who always gives me honest opinions. She told me she didn't understand why I find the storyline to be of average quality because its a very nice one.

And that comment changed my life. I kid you not.

My whole attitude towards writing this book changed. I became more interested and enthusiastic about writing. I took my colleague's comment to heart and ran with it because I knew it was genuine. She never sugar coats her words.

I'm grateful for the transitioning that occurred in the process of writing this book. Though I should have completed this book much earlier but somewhere down the line,  I wasn't paying much attention to it. I started focusing more on my drawing talent. I know I should be able to juggle both and one skill doesn't have to suffer because of the other. But I lost my zeal for writing.

I lost the zeal for a personal reason, one which I'd share when I'm ready.

I'm glad I've completed this book. I'm so happy and I feel so liberated. I wonder how you feel.

And I care to know. That's the whole essence of this note.

First, I'd like to say thank you so much for even reading this book in the first place and coming this far. This novel wasn't an easy read at all. It was depressing, disturbing and frustrating, so I understand you completely.

I hope that the ending of this book gives some form of closure though. I hope it doesn't feel out of place, considering the kind of stubbornness David exhibited throughout the book. I hope it doesn't feel odd or rushed.

I'd love to know your thoughts on this novel in detail which is why I'd be asking a series of questions right away!

1. Do you think the story of David illustrates the title of this book well?

2. Did you feel a sense of loss when David began to act like a villain in this story? Did you feel detached? Did you feel resentment towards him?

3. In your honest opinion, do you believe that guilt can really make people do the unimaginable?  Do you think it can push people to a certain extreme?

4. Rate this book based on the following criteria:

a. Dialogue

b. Description

c. Sense of connection to option A and B.

d. The level to which your emotions were affected.

e. Overall quality.

5. Was Zipporah's death necessary at all?

6. A character from this novel that you like.

7. Is David a good or a bad person? ( This question isn't as simple as it looks. Answer carefully)

8. Was Celine wise in the way she behaved and handled situations?

9. How would you have felt if Celine and David were a thing? Do you see any chemistry?

10. If you had a son or daughter who made the mistakes that David made, what kind of parent would you be to him or her? Would you be like Folakemi, the parent who stood by him till the end or Kelvin (David's Dad) who resented him from the start? Be honest with yourself.

Those are my questions for you. Please answer them carefully and honestly. 💓

Thank you once again for reading this book and for completing another novel in this series. It's always phenomenal having you guys in my comment section for real. I'm truly thankful for your support.

I won't be writing for some time. I'd like to take a break to consider and work on some things. But I'd be back when I'm ready.

Thank you for everything.

Yours Truly,
The Dream Elixir.
