I didn't want to think about all this but eventually, I went down memory lane.

Past time...

I knew Myra for the last 20 years since we became friends with Sujal and Viren. She was very cute and pretty from the very beginning and I always liked her but never said anything about it to anyone as she was Viren's sister and I didn't want to offend any of them.

Slowly she started getting even more beautiful with time. I really liked her and was mesmerized by her beauty.

But the problem was that she also knew that she was very pretty and those silly boys around her made her more than aware of the fact. She was seen flirting with a few guys and I felt bad about it. I liked her but could not afford to lose the friendship of Viren and Sujal so I turned my back on that issue.

About a few months back, my family thought that since we had completed our education and joined our family businesses, we should get married as well.

Ron refused firmly that he had no wish to get married for at least 10 more years. And even if at some point in his life he would think of it, they should not worry about him because he would find a bride for himself. 

Everyone knew how stubborn he was, so naturally, my family started to look for a girl for me. They asked me if I was in a relationship with someone or was interested in anyone. But I could not tell Myra's name.

  Then one fine day Sia Chachi ( paternal aunt) proposed a marriage alliance between me and Myra as she was also her relative.

We were about to go for the new year party as it was New year's eve when I got to know that Chachi suggested Myra's name.  My happiness knew no bounds as I was going to meet her and now I would not have to keep myself away from her because our families wanted us to be together.

We reached the hotel... She was standing there with Saanjh and looked hot like a red hot coal. In her sexy little red dress.

She was all set to give me a heart attack as all the men were looking at her.

Even if I would have turned into the hulk, I could not have stopped them from ogling at her.

But I could at least be with her so that others don't get time and chance to flirt with her as very soon she would be mine if she has no problem with the proposal.

But before I could ask her, Shaurya asked her, and I had to wait for the dance to get over.

It was my chance to go and be with her before someone else might ask her to dance with him. 

Immediately, I rushed to her and asked her for the next dance and she agreed. I pulled her in my arms and felt very good.

She was very light on her feet while dancing. I felt a bit nervous in the beginning because I wanted to make a good impression and show her how good of a dancer I am, but as we got more comfortable, I loosened up and showed off some of my smooth and graceful moves.

She raised her eyebrows at the moves and I was feeling very happy because I finally got the chance to dance with the girl I liked.

The music stopped and I felt that the spell that was cast around us was vanishing when she turned to go but I could not let her go like this. So I asked her for another dance. She looked around as if she was looking for someone.

Who could that be?? Viren or Sujal?? Or someone else?? 

Then she smiled and nodded, I was very happy and took her in my arms again.

She was a good dancer too so I also tried to match my dance style to Myra's this time and followed her lead.

I was getting conscious that my moves would likely reflect my emotions and the thrill of dancing with my dream girl. But that didn't matter much now as it is, Sia Chachi was going to arrange a meeting between us on the next day.

We walked  into the new year in each other's arms. What a beautiful start to a new year.

Next day...

Our families arranged a meeting between us on the very next day and I was very happy about it. I still remember the day...

We met at Sujal's place where they had a new year party. I realized that she was a bit reserved at the moment but I thought that maybe she is feeling a bit awkward as we have known each other for almost forever.

Very smartly Chachi arranged a meeting between us before the party so nobody knew about it other than her and my family.

I was a bit apprehensive about Viren's reaction but he seemed to be happy with the proposal.

" Viren, I can understand if you don't want Myra and me to be bound in matrimony. See, our friendship means a lot to me, if you are uncomfortable with this proposal, please tell me, I don't want to hurt you. "  I said.

" No!!  Though I am closer to Ron, I know you very well, you are a very nice man. It would be a very good thing if you both liked each other. She is a bit impulsive, and childish I think, she needs someone like you. I am glad Sia aunty brought this proposal. Do you like Myra? "

" I was surprised when Chachi suggested her name, my family is very excited about it. She is a very nice and pretty girl, only someone stupid would not like her. And I really want to strengthen our friendship, now that you are ok with it, I would be happy if she chooses me." I said. He hugged me.

We were given some time to talk to each other and sent to a room. She seemed to be a bit tensed and reserved at first.

" What is the matter, Myra? Why are you looking so tense? "  I asked her gently.

" No, nothing... I am fine. "

" No, you are not. Please be comfortable. I am Raj, the same Raj you know for years, the same Raj, you danced with, last night. We both were comfortable at that time.  Please don't feel awkward, just because our parents want us to be together."

" Thanks! I am fine now. Raj, I know you for so long, but this situation is awkward. See, I don't want to get married just now. I don't know how this thing came to their mind all of a sudden.  "  She said hesitantly.

" Is that the only reason you are tense? If you like someone else, you can tell me. We all are friends, you can be frank and say whatever you want. Please be yourself. I swear, even if you like someone else, I would not tell our families or Viren. You can trust me. "  I said.

She was quiet for a minute as if she was thinking about whether to say something or not.

"  No, there is nothing like that. I am actually shocked a bit, it is just too soon. I have not even thought about it. "  She said and I smiled.

" I understand... We don't have to give our decision just now. But for the sake of the relationship between our families, I think we should give this a try.  I enjoyed our dances last night as if we both were a perfect couple, dancing partners. I am sure, if we try spending some more time, we would like each other. Let's meet a few more times before deciding anything. "  I suggested. 

" Ok! " She said looking downwards.

I told chachi that she needs some time to get comfortable with me and the whole idea of getting married, but I am ok with the alliance. If she also agrees, we can get married.

Our families were very happy but she looked confused.

Our parents assigned us to work together on the games so that we could get to spend more time with each other.

And I was enjoying being with her. She was working on the games and though I tried to drag my eyes away from her, I was still looking at her continuously.

She was the prettiest girl I had ever met and my heart had always picked up its pace whenever she was around.

Well, I was on top of the world but... I didn't know what was going on in her mind.

I wish, I knew...
