Myra's POV

After taking a quick shower, I decided to wear a nice western evening dress but as per the suggestion of my mom, mami, and Sneha aunty, I wore a traditional dress and applied some light makeup.

I went out and saw that Raj had not come till now.  Where was he?? His meeting could not take so much time to wind up. Was he avoiding me??

Everyone was waiting for him to come. Roohi and Ruhan tried to call him and just then the doorbell rang and he walked in.

" Hey, Raj!!! We have been waiting for so long and tried calling you so many times, but it was unreachable. See Myra has been looking at the door since evening. " Viren rushed to him and embraced him.

" Er... sorry Viren, actually I tried telling the client a few times that I needed to go but you see, some clients are a bit difficult to handle. I could not let the deal go off my hands as it was my first independent project. " Raj said.

" So did you crack the tough nut? "  Viren asked.

" Yeah... Otherwise, I would not have wasted so much time. The deal is signed. " He smiled.

" Great!! Come, everyone has been waiting for you, especially our Myra. She has looked at the watch and door, more times than she must have blinked. " Viren said and everyone laughed making me embarrassed but Raj just looked at me and gave me a smile that looked a bit sad.

He came in, touched the feet of my parents, and greeted everyone with love and a big smile.

" Thank God, you have come, Myra di was missing you a lot," Saanjh said. Roohi and Saanjh caught his hands and pulled him to me.

" Isn't she looking very pretty?" Saanjh asked.

"  Yes! Very pretty. " Raj said. He said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

" And what about my brother, bhabhi?? Isn't he looking very handsome? " Roohi asked.

"Yes, he is. " I said.

" Thanks, you are looking very beautiful today. " He said and I heard a few whistles.

" Bhai, where is Ron bhai, now his phone is ringing but he is not picking up the call. " Ruhan asked.

" He has gone to do something chachu had assigned him to do. He may come later on. "  Raj said.

The snacks were being served. Everyone was enjoying and he looked perfectly at ease with everyone and took the teasing with a smile. The dinner was about to be served just when the doorbell rang.

A servant went to open the door and Ron walked in.

" Hey, Ron!! Finally, you have arrived.  What took you so long? We all were missing you. "

" I.. .I was stuck somewhere.  R.Raj has arrived?? "  He asked.

" Yes, Raj came about an hour ago. " Viren said.

" Oh, ok!! " He walked in and greeted everyone. He looked at me and then at Raj with a weird expression on his face.

What happened to him now?? I didn't like him much because he was blunt, but he was my family now. And he loves Raj a lot, so must start liking him too.

" Hey, Raj. I am surprised that you have already reached here. I mean... the meeting was going on and on. "

" Yeah, but as soon as I could, I came here, everyone was waiting for so long. I saw that my phone had 20+ missed calls. " Raj said.

"I need to talk to you, Raj. " Ron said in a very serious tone.

" Later on, Ron. He is your brother and stays in the same home as you. But he has come to our place as our son-in-law, for the first time, let us spend some time with him. " Dad said and he nodded.

The snacks were served to Ron but he declined to say that he was not hungry.

Though Sujal and Viren asked him why was he not eating anything, he said he had been distributing gifts and sweets to family and friends so was quite full as everyone insisted him to have something.

So dinner was being served, and Raj and I were asked to come to the dining table.

" Raj, I need to talk to you. " Ron said again.

" Yes..." Raj nodded.

" No!!  Sit down! Have dinner first...  I asked aunty about your favorite dishes and got all of them made, just for you as you are the guest of honor today. " Sujal said.

" How sweet of you, Sujal, but let me talk to Ron for 5 minutes. It must be important..." Raj said.

" Nothing is more important than food. Please, sit down. Or I will have to follow the OPH tradition of punching my brother-in-law. "  Sujal said and everyone burst out laughing.

" No!! Please... I prefer eating food prepared by you than your punch. " Raj said and we took our chairs.

" Hey, Ron... What happened to you, man?? You are quiet today. " Viren asked. 

" Nothing, just tired, have been working continuously since yesterday. I really want to go and sleep,"  he said and Viren nodded.

The food was served and everyone started teasing me about my culinary skills.

" Raj is a foodie, Myra what are you going to make for him? "  Viren teased me and I glared at him.

" Bhai!! "

" C'mon, tell him. " He teased and everyone started laughing.

" Mom, dad!!! " I said making a face.

" Viren, behave yourself!! Don't make fun of my daughter's culinary skills. " Dad said.

" I am not making fun of her, just worried about my friend's health. Don't worry, Raj, the best way to keep yourself safe is to keep her out of the kitchen. Don't eat anything made by her and you will not face any problems. In case you can't avoid it, keep Roohi near you. At least she can treat you. "  Viren said.

Everyone was laughing, Raj was enjoying himself a lot and I don't know why Ron was tensed, was not even smiling.

" All the best to the entire Kapoor family. " He said again.

" Shut up, Viren! I know cooking." I replied.

" Yeah, you can prepare just tea, Coffee, and Maggie. " Viren challenged me.

" I learned cooking from Srusti mami and Sneha aunty. " I said.

" And burnt all of them when tried to make them all by yourself. "  Viren retorted and everyone started laughing.

" Mom, tell him to shut up or I will pour some hot food over his head,"  I said.

" Viren!! Enough! " Mom said in a strict tone.

" That's ok, so what if she doesn't know cooking? You can't make fun of her like this. "  Ron said.

" Awww... Thanks, Ron. I love you for saying that. " I smiled at him but he gave no reaction and just looked at me weirdly.

" He is right and as it is, both mom and chachi are extremely good at cooking. I swear, they both are obsessed with making our favorite dishes. It is ok if Myra can't cook. " Raj said with a smile and I smiled back at him.

"Well you are saying it not to offend your new bride, after a few years, you would be joking about it as my dad does. " Viren said and dad hid his smile because mom glared at him and Viren.

" I hate you, Viren... now don't you dare to come pleading with me to make Maggie or a sandwich for you at midnight, I will not make it. You don't need a doctor to save your life after eating food prepared by me?" I glared at him.

" As it is you would not be here to make it for me. I will miss you, my doll. Please do come to stay with us... I love you a lot. " He became emotional all of a sudden and his eyes became moist.

" Awww... I will come, but will not make anything for you now. Find someone who can cook tasty elaborate midnight meals for you. " I said making a face.

"  No, thanks! I prefer maggie made by you. But jokes apart,  Raj, she makes awesome coffee, and Maggie." Viren said and Raj nodded. But Ron was behaving weirdly, he was glaring at Raj.

What happened to him??
