" Thanks a lot, the moment Sia aunty suggested your name, I knew you were the best choice for Myra. She really needs someone like you. I am really happy. Thanks a lot. " Viren's eyes were filled with tears and he was smiling like a lunatic.

Myra's parents, Mohit uncle, and Sujoy uncle came to me.

" Raj, take some more time and think again. Accept this alliance only if you want to get married to her. Please don't do it just to get us out of this situation "  Myra's parents asked me.

" No, I had accepted the proposal of this alliance, but it is a bit awkward situation since she was engaged to my friend till an hour ago and we were supposed to attend their wedding. It will take time for me to get used to the idea that we are getting married. I hope you understand. " I said a bit hesitantly.

" Fair, enough... Even she would need some time to adjust to the thought. We appreciate your straightforwardness. Thanks a lot, beta, I am glad that you are going to be our son-in-law. God bless you. "  Viraj uncle said. He was looking relaxed and had moisture in his eyes.

" I know he is a wonderful boy. I know him since the day he was born. He is a gem of a man just like everyone else in the Kapoor family. They treat their women like queens. Our Myra would be very happy there Viraj. Don't worry. " Sujoy uncle said and hugged me.

" Uncle, Please ask if she can accept me as her husband."

" Of course, we will ask her about it. Do you want to talk to her before taking a decision? " Viraj uncle asked.

" I had already given my consent at that time. It's ok,  Please ask if she can accept me as her husband."  I said.

" Sure, beta. "

Everyone looked very happy. And  Sujal also got emotional. I told them to stop crying or I would think that I made a mistake and change the decision.

They all laughed and asked me to get ready.

" I will ask my assistant to get the best wedding outfits that match Myra's dress. " Mohit uncle said.

"It's ok, uncle, I have many new outfits. "

" No, we get married only once, so we should not compromise on these things. Leave all that to me.  Wait for 30 minutes. I will get at least 10 designs for you. You have a perfect physique so I guess no alterations would be needed and if they will be needed we will get them done immediately. " Mohit uncle said.

" All of you reach the hotel go to your rooms and get ready. Sujal, Viren, Mohak, and Sahaj will help me in arranging everything."  Sujoy uncle said.

All the guests took their bags and left for the hotel where the wedding was to be held and my family also made some quick calls to arrange things.

Dad, Chachu, Ron, and Rohan rushed to make the arrangements at home and call some of our very close relatives. Mom, Chachi, and Roohi went home to make the arrangements the welcome us after the wedding.

In about an hour, I shortlisted the outfits and tried them. Mohit uncle helped me in selecting the right one that would match perfectly with Myra's dress.

We all reached the hotel and went to our respective rooms to relax and get ready. I went to take a relaxing bath.

Myra's POV
An hour ago...

Lying on the bed with my face buried in my soft pillow, I was thinking that I should have gone with what my parents had planned for me. Raj would have been a better partner for me.

I went down memory lane again...

After that meeting at Sujal's place, Raj told everyone that we needed to spend some more time together before we could reach any conclusions.

He even asked me out the next day, I tried to refuse as I was dating Manik, and Manik and I were going on a date for the lunch. But when my family insisted, I finally agreed to go for dinner on the same day.

It felt very awkward in going on a date with two different men on the same day but I didn't have many options.

My lunch date with Manik was spoilt by that stupid girl, but the dinner date with Raj was very nice.

It was a beautiful evening, he took me on a long drive with soft romantic music in the car as we drove down a scenic route surrounded by trees. The sun had set, and the sky was painted with hues of pink and orange.

I was feeling relaxed and he was in high spirits, chatting and laughing. I had never seen this side of him. We were enjoying each other's company.

Eventually, he stopped the car, I was surprised that he had stopped the car in front of my favorite eating joint at a cozy little restaurant nestled in the countryside.

" Hey, how do you know that it is one of my favorite eating joints? " I asked him.

He just smiled warmly.

Awww... That smile!!

"  Well, I did some homework as I wanted our first date to be very special. So I asked one of my best friends to suggest a nice place. " He replied.

" Viren! You asked Viren?" I asked.

" Who else can know you so well? Now shall we go inside? " He said. I nodded. 

Raj opened the door for me, and we were greeted by the warm glow of candlelight and the soft sounds of jazz music.

We were shown to our table, set for two with a white tablecloth, sparkling silverware, and a single red rose in a vase.

Wait a minute!!  This setting was a bit different than the last time I had come with my friends.

" Hey, this is looking different,"  I said.

" They have different settings for different kinds of guests. I wanted a calm, cozy setting so that we could get to know each other." I smiled.

Throughout dinner, we continued having a lively conversation, sipping on glasses of red wine and sampling dishes from the restaurant's gourmet menu.

He was looking at me with admiration and affection, and I could not help but return his gaze with a warm smile.

Some inner voice told me that I should tell him that I was dating Manik and he was my boyfriend, but somehow, I didn't want to do it.

Manik was going to Surat and he would have to stay there for indefinite years, that was a piece of shocking news for me. How would we manage a long-distance relationship?

We had just started dating, it was the time to get to know each other, and that could be done by spending some time together, but he was going away, how would we come closer?

I was still confused about that relationship now as I didn't know if our relationship would work or not and on top of that, he expected even a long-distance relationship.

But Raj needs to know... Something in me said, but I ignored it. I was enjoying my time with him. Manik and I were not fully committed to each other till now, were just at the testing or initial stage.

My family had given me another choice and I wanted to see if Raj was better for me than Manik.

So I thought of spending some more time as Manik and I had to decide if we should go ahead or forget about it.

Somehow, I was enjoying myself more with Raj.

" Hey!! Come back to earth... I hope you are not getting bored in my company. Are you?? "

" What? Oh, no!! "

" You seemed to be miles away, is everything alright? Is there anything that is bothering you?? "  He asked.

" No, not at all! I was just wool-gathering. I am sorry. "  I replied. It was too soon to tell him anything about Manik as it is I had not even told Viren about that till now.

" Don't be sorry! It happens to everyone. I just wish that I was the object of your thoughts. " He said. But I just smiled.

We shared an amazing dinner and a dessert of chocolate fondue, dipping fruit and cakes into rich, melted chocolate. It was so good.

As the dinner comes to a close, we stepped outside, he held my hand tentatively and looked at me, if I was ok with it. I looked at him but didn't say anything, he gave me a smile that made me feel warm inside.

He took me to his car and then to my surprise, he asked me to lean against his car and we watched the stars in the clear sky. We took a moment to appreciate the peaceful countryside and the sound of crickets chirping in the night.

It was a magical evening,  and I knew that it will be a night that I might always cherish. I wanted to meet Raj again. I was still confused between them.

We were driving back and he started a casual conversation.

" So, if I have not bored you to tears, would you like to come out with me again? "  He asked.

" I would like to as I really enjoyed it a lot. "

" Great!! And I promise to surprise you again. " He said with his amazing smile.

" Hmmm, that means, you will ask Viren again? Is he behaving normally with you? I mean, you were coming on a date with me, was he fine with it? "  I asked.

" Oh, don't ask me, he is so very excited to send you away, that he treating me even better so that I can take his problem away from his life. "  He smiled so cutely.

" I will kill him... And how can you take me away from his life? " I asked.

"  By marrying you. If you agree to marry me, I will take you to my home and keep you there. "  He said with a weird expression that I didn't understand but somehow I liked the way he looked at me. I was getting conscious of his eyes on me and looked out of the window.

Raj was also as good as Manik... I wanted whoever was best for me and I needed some time.
