The next morning I fiddled nervously with my uniform, trying to make it perfect.

I heard Ginny sigh in annoyance. "You look fine Victoria. Lets go." She said. I looked up at her. "It's my first day." I said quietly. She frowned and flipped her hair as she stormed out of the room. I walked down to the common room where Alec and Claire sat waiting. Claire jumped up and hugged me. "Morning Cutie!" She said. I smiled at her gently. "Good morning Claire." I said quietly. She smiled and let me go. "I've got something for you, a good luck charm." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a cute little trident charm on a necklace.

She put it on around my neck. "Thank you." I said with a smile. Alec smiled as well. "And I got something for you too!" He said, clipping something in my hair. It was a pretty crescent moon hair clip.

"Thank you both. You're awesome friends." I said, hugging them both as we walked downstairs to breakfast.

When we got downstairs I accidentally bumped into someone, knocking me to the ground. "Watch it brat!" I heard my former brother Ron hiss. "Ron! That was rude!" A pretty brown haired girl said. The black haired boy nodded. "I agree." He said, reaching down to help me up. "Don't help her Harry! She nearly killed Ginny when we were kids!" He yelled. I flinched, the memory coming back.

~Flashback~

I was four years old, Ma'am and Sir still let me call the mum and dad. I was still a member of the family. I was playing outside with Ginny. The two of us were exploring an area in the marshes with Ron and the twins. Ginny had found a frog and was trying to catch it. I sat and giggled at this. Ginny smiled at me. "Want to play Vicky?" She asked. I nodded and jumped up, splashing in the puddles with my blue rubber rain boots and matching coat.

We splashed around and played with one another, unknowing at what was lurking beneath the water. Suddenly I saw something reaching up out of the water and grabbed Ginny by the leg, dragging her underneath the water. I screamed and tried to pull her out, hitting at the thing with my umbrella. Eventually it let her go and Ron in the others came over. Ron helped Ginny up while the twins pulled me away from Ginny. Mum came running out, demanding to know what happened. "I saw the entire thing!" Ron yelled, glaring at me. "She was holding Ginny underwater! She tried to kill her!" He yelled. Mum looked at me with absolute disgust. She stormed over to me and yanked me by the arm, yelling at me as she did. I cried and tried to tell her what really happened but she slapped me hard across the face. The twins looked at me with sympathy but they didn't do anything to help. She apperated to a strange room with an old bearded man who preformed spells on me that caused my body to fill with excruciating pain. Mum just stood off to the side and watched. After hours of this and other torture he finally stopped and mum yanked me up harshly. "See you next week Professor Dumbledore." Mum said almost happily. She apperated back home and threw me into the attic. "Mum please......" I begged, making her slap me again. "You are no daughter of mine." She hissed, locking me to a metal cot. "You'll be staying up here from now on brat." She said, walking out of the attic and slamming and locking the door. I began to quietly cry myself to sleep......

~End Flashback~

I was clutching my knees and rocking back and forth. "Look what you did Ron!" The brown haired girl yelled. She gently sat at my side as Claire sat at the other. They were rubbing my back in hopes of calming me down. "She's a perfectly nice person!" Alec yelled. Soon a dark haired older man came over, he glanced at me and his hard eyes softened. "Weasley, Potter, what on earth is going on over here?" He asked with a scowl. "Ron was harassing his sister." Harry said, reaching down to help me up. "That thing is not my sister!" Ron yelled. "That will be fifty points from Gryffindor and a detention Mr. Weasley for bullying a fellow student, and a first year no less." The man said. "But Professor-!" The brown haired girl cried. "I wasn't done yet Granger." The man, clearly a professor, cut in. "You, Potter, Jacks, and Macmillan each take five points for showing what it means to be true Gryffindors." He said, giving the group a minuscule smile before leaving, dragging Ron away by the arm. Harry and the brown haired girl were shocked. "Hermione, did Snape just give us points?" Harry asked. "Maybe miracles do happen." Hermione said with a small smile. Harry reached down and helped me to my feet. "You're Victoria, right?" He asked, giving me a dazzling smile. I blushed and nodded. "Yeah, and you're Harry Potter." I mumbled. "Harry is just fine." He said smiling at me. I blushed and looked away, and I noticed Ginny looking rather angry. I quickly let go of Harry's hand. "I should get going." I said quietly. I ran to my first class which was charms, my face as red as my hair the entire way.
