Chapter Nine: Waking Up and Memories
The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the pain. It was excruciating. I tried to lift my arm to rub my eyes but it stung badly. "Ms. Peverell, please refrain from moving." I heard a kind sounding woman say. She rushed over to my side and helped me sit up. It was then I noticed all of the flowers balloons and candies surrounding my bed. I smiled. "You're a very popular young lady. Both Gryffindors and Slytherins alike have been visiting you." This made me happy. "When can I leave?" I asked. She frowned. "Not for a while, you were gravely injured." She explained. I frowned too. "Oh......" Suddenly the door of the hospital wing was threw open. "I must protest this Professor." I heard Professor McGonagall say. I saw her walking with a strange looking man and Professor Dumbledore, who looked extremely angry. He stormed over to my bedside. "You opened it didn't you?!" He yelled, grabbing me by my pajamas and shaking me. I began to cry. "Please don't hurt me!" I begged. Madam Pomphrey rushed forward and pulled him off of me. I clutched my knees to my chest and sobbed. "That is no way to treat a child Albus!" She said sternly. "She may have doomed us all!" Dumbledore replied angrily. "Albus that's rather harsh she's just a child." The stange man said. "I have proof from two very well respected students that she did Minister!" Dumbledore yelled. "I-I d-didn't d-d-do it." I sobbed. Professor McGonagall sat by my side. "Then who did Victoria?" She asked gently. "If I tell they'll kill me!" I cried. "We will protect you." She said. "It was Ron and Ginny...." I said quietly. "Liar! Mrs. Weasley said that you were a liar and a monster! It was those to who came forward to me with the evidence!" Dumbledore said, glaring at me, he held up Ginny's diary. "I should expel you immediately and have you taken to Askaban." Dumbledore yelled. "Albus, lets at least hear the girl out before we punish her." The Minister said. I looked at him thankfully. "It wasn't me." I said again, this time firmer. "But Ms. Weasley said it was. She even gave us the diary as proof." The Minister said. I shook my head. "It's Ginny's I was there the day she got it at Flourish and Blotts." I explained. "They were the ones who attacked me Professor McGonagall. Ron dragged me into the third floor bathroom. He and Ginny cut me, they took some of my blood for some reason and then Ginny said something over by the sink, it was weird sounding and she read it from the book. The sink opened up and they left me there. I don't know what happened afterwards because I passed out." I explained. Professor McGonagall rubbed my back. "There you have it Albus. It must have been the Weasley's." She said. The Minister seemed convinced as well. "I am not so easily convinced. These are two students who's family has been close allies of mine since the first war with Voldemort." Dumbledore sneered. I frowned. "You mean the same family who hated me, who used me as a slave and beat me every day? It may have not been Arthur or Percy or Fred and George, or Bill or Charlie, but it was Molly Ron and Ginny! They made my life a living hell!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face. "I don't believe you." Dumbledore said. I whimpered. "Then show us your memories." Professor McGonagall said. "How?" I asked. She and the Minister looked at Dumbledore who grumbled pulled out his wand summoning a large round saucer thing filled with silvery water. Professor McGonagall pressed her wand to my temple and pulled away, a strange silvery mist coming from my head. She eyed Dumbledore as she did this. She pressed her wand into the saucer. Suddenly the surface rippled and we were looking at one of my memories as a child. I was about seven and I was skin and bones and my hair was dirty and tangled. Molly Weasley stormed upstairs and I flinched. "YOU STUPID WHORE!!!" She yelled, pulling out her wand and freezing my body. She came over and kicked my stomach. "How dare you try to show yourself to my children! I could have gotten in trouble if Bill or Charlie had seen you!! I had to modify their memories because of it!" She yelled, continuing to kick me. I heard a crack and I began to cough up blood. Molly growled. "Now now, I can't have you die on me. I'll lose my slave." She hissed. She undid the freezing spell and grabbed me by the arm. "Please don't take me there." I heard my younger self beg quietly. She apperated us to the terrible room where the terrible man stepped out of the shadows. I heard Professor McGonagall and the Minister let out a gasp. Professor Dumbledore watched as he stepped out from the shadows. "What is the meaning of this Albus?" The Minister asked in shock. Dumbledore frowned but said nothing. He just watched as he healed me and then tortured me. "She was accused of trying to kill her sister, but I knew that wasn't the case. A monster had tried to kill Ginny Weasley that day." He said. "A monster? Why on earth?" Professor McGonagall asked. "I was just as confused but when I first saw Victoria I understood why. She's a demigod, an a powerful one at that. It seems that she gained most of the godly heritage leaving Ginny almost human." Dumbledore explained. "That doesn't justify torturing me." I said through my tears. Dumbledore looked at me as the memory faded. "It's true that what I did caused you great pain but it put blocks on your godly powers. It made it impossible for monsters to find you." He replied. "Molly didn't know, she just thought I was hurting you. I would never purposely hurt someone without reason." Dumbledore said. The Minister frowned. "But apparently Molly Weasley will." He said. "I'm going to have a talk with Mrs. Weasley." The Minister said, walking out of the room. I sighed and looked up at Professor McGonagall. "Can I go to sleep now?" I asked. She nodded and walked out of the hospital wing, Dumbledore following after her. When they left I let my head fall back against the pillow and I fell asleep.
