In the summer

The world is dehydrated

But in the winter, I am

The wind pulls tears from my eyes

And freezes them on my face 

And I'm so stressed 

All the time

I got sick from dehydration once 

A year ago at Disney World

It wasn't fun 

But I think I would prefer vomiting 

To the feeling I get from dehydration now

I get tired and irritable and feel like crying 

But crying would make me lose more water 

I'm in a desert of emotions 

I have to ration my tears carefully

Just drink more water 

That's all 

Carry a water bottle around to my classes 

Except I lose it every other day 

Use the water fountain then

I'm only feeling this way because I'm dehydrated.

I feel like I'm going to cry

I gulp down a cup of water

Then another

I can suddenly see an alternate future 

Where I'm addicted to water 

Like some people are to alcohol

I drink water at every moment 

Desperately 

Wishing 

That all my problems 

Were caused by dehydration.
