I was rereading some of my old poems today
The ones that I said in the book description were terrible.
I hadn't read them in so long
(It's been a year since I started this book)
That I had forgotten how I thought at the time.

I can remember the way I felt
When I was writing "Stupid".
I had to work on a group project
With the 5 most annoying kids in my class
And I was so frustrated and mad at my life.
And I wrote a little rant-y thing
That could kinda-sorta-maybe be
Called a poem
And published it on Wattpad
And regretted it.

And a year later
Read it and found
That it was maybe not deep and metaphorical
But it was my life and it was real
And the ending was darkly funny.

And "This Summer".
I still feel that way sometimes.
(And by sometimes I mean
Way more often than I should.)
But a comment inspired me.
Don't look back, just keep moving forward.
You can't change the past
But you have some power over the future.
