Chapter Two: Tribute Parade
We start out with Caesar Flickerman sitting in a booth above the road of the Parade; he's sitting beside Pullox and both men are having a lively conversation about the games before the chariots have arrived.
"Oh, right you are my friend, right you are-- oh! Looks like the first chariot is pulling in! This'll be District One ladies and gentlemen," Caesar announces over the loudspeaker, his voice booming with every word. "Ah yes, and don't they look lovely, I think their Stylist has done a wonderful job," Pullox agrees, as they roll out waving.
The female of the district is wearing a jet black dress that insinuates all of her beautiful curves. The top of the dress is low cut revealing a beautiful rose gold necklace adorned with every kind if jewel imaginable. The dress only has one strap going along her right shoulder. The bottom of the dress shimmered with all of the colors of the rainbow like oil, and is covered all around the hem with emeralds, ruby's, and sapphires. Her hair has been colored to a rich strawberry-blond and pinned up into a bun, but with the end of her hair sticking up like a peacocks tail feathers. There are two visible pins on the sides. They have flowers made of diamonds on them. She also has a broach that was made in her district just below her right shoulder. Her sharp nails have been painted a bright amethyst purple with gold flecks and given an edging of turquoise stones. She has a smokey purple eye makeup bringing out her beautiful topaz eyes. The male from district one is wearing a dark amber tuxedo. The buttons made of the purest onyx and threaded with purple string.
Caesar makes a joke about the district, and then it's back to seriousness as the next district pulls into view. "Ah, yes ladies and gentlemen, it's the next chariot arriving now-" "And this one is in fact District Two, what are they again Caesar?" Pullox interrupts. "Why, one of the most important, Pullox! They're Masonry and the Training of Peacekeepers! Ladies and gentlemen, a Capitol favorite!" Caesar replies, his words flowing perfectly as the tributes pass below.
The female of this district, is covered in what appears to be grey and white chalk. The chalk is smeared in such a way that it looks exactly like polished marble. Her hair also looks as if it is the most detailed part. It is cut in an asymmetrical way, longer on the left than on the right. There are long, thick strips of cloth draping on her right shoulder to the left side of her waist. She is also wearing a long flowing skirt that is split down the front to the right. She is wearing pure white contacts giving her an inanimate appearance. Her right arm is raised and her hand is slightly cupped. Around her hair is a pure black crown of ivy. The male is covered in a polished black and dark grey chalk. This gives him a similar appearance to the girls. He does not have anything on his muscular torso, but has a Roman contortions battle skirt on. He also has some wrist cuffs on. His hair is a simple short cut, and his head is adorned with a pure white ivy crown. His arm is raised with a ceramic sword in hand.
"Wow. That was-" Caesar adjusts his seating position. "Amazing! Beautiful! I'm sure these two will receive lots of votes from the Capitol citizens, and they're sure to get Sponsors!" Caesar says enthusiastically.
"And now, on to District Three!" Pullox announces as the chariot comes down, tributes waving and laughing. "What a nice pair, you know I think their outfits look professional. Their Stylist did a grand job!" Pullox announces proudly. He and Caesar share a few laughs as the chariot passes by.

Alright lets get down to it; Kira Hunters, the District Three female tribute, she's tall and muscular, light brown hair and green eyes. She wears an electrifying orange dress, dragging on the floor a few inches at the back and the front coming up slightly above her knees; the waist of which appears to be torn or sliced across her right side. Her partner, Hugh Janus, wears a matching electric orange suit consisting of orange dress pants, a white long-sleeve shirt with ruffles around the front collar giving it a Mexican flair, and an electric orange jacket long-sleeved, it gives off a casual vibe. He wears shoes that spark as if electricity flows across them. Kira wears a similar shoe, but hers are heels, stilettos. She also wears orange gloves that reach her elbows, the backs of which jut strait out from the point of her elbows like lightning. The fingers of the gloves only cover the index and ring fingers, the rest are left bare.
Kira's makeup is electric purple, spiked from her eyelids out to her eyebrows, with a mixture of light orange and hints of electric blue. Her lipstick is shaded purple, it doesn't pop out and is not wild and crazy, just soft purple. Her nails are painted purple as well. Draped around her shoulders are red wires, wrapping around to her waist. In places these fake wires seem cut, exposing their gold fringes on the inside. Hugh wears the same thing but on the opposite shoulder, his left, and his wires are bigger.
They race through the parade route waving at the crowd and dazzling them with smiles and the occasional spark of electricity flying off them as they move along.
"Oh! Ladies and gentlemen, it's my own personal favorite District and tributes! Capitol citizens it's District Four!!" The crowd goes wild, as did before, and people cheer them on. "Now, District Four is your favorite?" Pullox asks, cocking an eyebrow as he turns to Caesar. "Yes indeed, Pullox, you see I love fish. And seeing how they catch the fish I eat, they're my favorite!" Caesar shrugs, tossing his hands up and then clapping for his favorite pair of tributes. "Now, an interesting fact about these two; neither of them volunteered for this!" Caesar announced, earning a simultaneous gasp from the audience. "Yes, no one volunteered for District Four! Most unusual, seeing how they are a career district and we receive volunteers most every year," He explained.
The female wears a short, shiny, turquoise dress with sea green accents. Its sleeves are ruffled around her nubby shoulders and it is tight and form-fitting. It stops mid thigh. Her legs are covered with fishnet leggings. She wears ankle boots , the same color as her dress. Her hair is done in beach waves, with pearls pinned in it. All of her accessories are pearl. The male wears a tux with the same material as the female's dress. His shoes are brown. His hair looks wind blown, like he has spent the day fishing. They are standing straight, the male waving and smiling to the crowd. Seeing her gloomy state, the male cracks a joke that makes the female laugh, and they continue on smiling at the Capitol people.
"Oh dear." Caesar was heard mumbling. "What is it? Frankly the district of power has always been a favorite of mine," Pullox announces nonchalantly. Caesar, for once, fumbled with his words as the chariot moved on. "Uh, well, this years tribute male is a little-- um-- well--- he's Coriolanus Snow Adver," Caesar gave a nervous laugh as Pullox froze. Clearing his throat, Caesar spoke loud and clear this time; "Ladies and gentlemen District Five!" He announced.
Today you get to see my designs on their chariots. Since I'm stuck with district 5 though I'm not complaining.................... Much. I picked out a few colors mostly blacks with a few neon yellow hints to it. I added some florescent lights to their hair as well making it look like they are power themselves. I made sure my districts tributes clothing made them look the best and be skintight in a few choice places like the arms and legs showing that they had muscle and the waist on the girl so she looked like a goddess with guys throwing themselves at their feet. I had to admit it looked really good. I told them to stand away from each other for a while and do make the crowd love them and to do their own thing and then randomly start talking to each other about the different districts completely ignoring everyone around them and focus on each other.
The crowd hardly did more than clap for the two standing as far from each other as they could in their chariot, Coriolanus waving at the crowd with his killer smile like that. The girl merely waved half-heartedly as they moved on toward the mansion.
"Ahem, now that that's over with-" Caesar mumbled. "It's on to District Six!" Pullox said, giving a warm smile although, up this high, Caesar was the only one to see it. "Ah, yes, District Six. You know I always forget this district? It's a shame they don't really do something worth remembering." Caesar said sadly shaking his head and clicking his tongue."I should hardly say no one remembers them, they are in fact in charge of transportation, they made it possible for you to come here Caesar," Pullox disagrees, gazing out at the crowd and the districts outfits. "And my they're looking stylish!" He added, grinning from ear to ear. "Ah yes, that I must agree upon. And aren't they siblings? I believe they are," Caesar mused, half to himself. "Mmmm, yes, I believe you're right." Pullox thought aloud.
The female from District Six wears a bold red train-conductor's outfit. Her button up jacket is red and her pants a sleek black. She wears tall black boots that reach her knees and wears black hand-gloves. She also wears a shiny rimmed black hat, it's a conductors hat. Her nails are painted black and her lipstick is a bright and juicy red; her makeup is soft smokey eye with lengthening mascara, her cheeks have been slighty rosed with some blush. Her partner and brother wears the exact same outfit but it seems more boyish, their stylist wanted them to be dressed like twins to make the Capitol feel sorry for the siblings having to enter together to fight to the death.
They roll down the parade route with mournful glances, waving slightly in an attempt to quiet their fears, each gripping each others hands forcefully; making promises to keep each other safe.
"And, on to greater things. The weather for the day of the games is looking grand! Although I should say it doesn't really matter, the Gamemaker's will be deciding the weather for the arena," Caesar spoke with a slight chuckle at the end. Pullox laughed and patted Caesar on the back; "Yes indeed my friend, indeed. Well here comes the District Sevens! My don't they look grand! The district of lumber, ah yes, I always do love how they dress for the parades," He shook his head and smiled, waving at the audience from his perch in the high booth.
District Seven. The female is dressed in skin-tight wood-brown pants, symbolizing the bark of a tree. Her top is just a frail, knitted, army green, loosely fitting and slipping off one shoulder; it symbolizes the leaves of a tree, probably a pine or something with dark leaves. Slung around her left shoulder is a dark purple and maroon braided rope, or piece of cloth resembling a rope, but having soft fabric. This symbolizes the many ropes used in hauling the tree trunks after they've been cut down back in the district. She wears boots up to her knees, they are decorated as bark from a tree. Her hair is stuffed all up inside a tall hat, made from the bark of a paper birch tree, this hat sits high and has a braid made from blonde string wrapping around it. In a slight opening sticks out a dried and pressed green leaf, and coming off the front, sticking out the sides, the back, are more leaves. Some are dark purple, matching the color of the rope, and others are army green, matching the color of the shirt. Also covering the hat in various places are bits of moss. Coming down from underneath the hat are strands of blonde fishing rope; a small and stringy rope mainly used in certain types of fishing and to make fish nets. This hangs out from under the hat in various places and from a distance resembles strings of hair dropping down. And at the very back of her hat, hangs three leaves and one stick-branch with seeds from a tree dangling from it. Her makeup is done with the cover-up having a gold tint, the eye shadow being bright golden, a dark jade around the ends of her eyes, black ink eyeliner, and her eyebrows are caked in lush greens and peacock blues, in the front of her eyelid where her eye meets her nose is a gold flame shadow-type makeup, and her eyelashes are lengthened with black mascara. Her lips shine with a pale pink gloss, her teeth the perfect white as she smiles and waves to the crowd, despite her feelings of fear for the unknown. Her partner wears matching brown pants, probably a little looser fitting and more manly, and he wears a cotton shirt, the color matching the green of the females shirt. His shirt comes to a V at the top, but has criss-cross ties in it. He has a leafy necklace, and a purple-maroon rope, matching the girls, wraps across his shoulder and down to his waist under the opposite armpit. He wears black boots to his knees, also made to resemble bark. He is also waving, but he refuses to smile as he keeps thinking about what will happen to his partner and friend.
"Ah, well what do you think of them, Pullox?" Caesar asks, gazing off into the distance with a hand holding up his chin. "Yes, they look stunning! I think they've really got the Capitol in their pocket! They may have a chance at Victory!" Pullox replied ecstatically. Caesar mock-laughed back, "No no, you see I think one of the careers will claim victory again," He said. "Well no time to debate! Here comes District Eight!" Pullox informed his co-reporter.
The female of the district is wearing a long flowing dress. The base color is black, but there are strips of neon colors, green, blue, pink, orange and many other colors, all coming from her right shoulder and running across the front, wrapping around her legs and down the overly long tail of the dress. The dress only has a right shoulder and no left shoulder strap. She is wearing two rings with long flowing strips of pastel colored cloth. She is wearing a tall headdress mad of lots of odd shapes and lots of multi-colored strips of cloth sprouting from all sides.
The boy of the district is wearing a different type of suit. It is a pure white, resembling snow, with black trim on all of the edges of the suit. It is standard length in the back with angled sections on the front of the jacket, almost giving it a reversed tail coat look. The shirt is a black so dark it makes him appear to be even more pale than he already is, but making his bright eyes seem bluer than thought to be possible. He is wearing a boutonnière of a neon green rose with dark blue baby's breath. He is wearing a standard pair of black slacks and simple black shoes.
"Well well, aren't they just lovely? And the boy is the youngest the games age can be! He's only twelve! Do you think he can have a chance at winning? The Capitol seems to like him!" Caesar asked, gesturing to the crowd that cheered loudly. "Ah, yes Caesar, the crowd does like him. But I don't know if he can win, we'll just have to see if he surprises us in the training session with the Gamemakers!" Pullox announced, checking his schedule which showed the next televised event would be the training sessions. Caesar slapped Pullox on the back, laughing heartily. "Well! A big surprise it'll have to be! If he wants to win, he's gonna have to show fierce strength and he has to be cunning to beat the big brutes from stronger districts!" Caesar argued, laughing again. "Yes yes, well now here comes District Nine, ah the girl looks stunning. And her partner doesn't seem too pleased to be here!" Pullox got back in the zone with the parade, watching as District Nine slowed below their station, and then on to the President's Mansion.
The girl of the district is wearing... denim overalls? They are buttoned only on the right side over a plain white shirt. She is wearing a plain straw hat and has a pice of wheat sticking ot of the left side of her mouth. Her pail skin is smeared with dirt and her bare feet are blackened with mud. She's smirking sassily with one hand on her hip and the other waving at the crowd.
The guy of this district is also wearing overalls only buttons on the left side. He is practically a mirror image of the girl, except he is holding a pitchfork and scowling.
"Mmmhmm District Nine seems promising, Asher Brix looks like a strong young man. And the girl seems cunning," Caesar mused, checking how they ranked in the Sponsor Charts. He grinned at their results. "And now to District Ten!" Pullox said excitedly.
District Ten, being the district of Livestock, it's tributes were strong and well disciplined. Scarlett Aspen is dressed in animal-skin clothing; her skirt one of cowhide, reaching only to her thighs and resting slightly lopsided. Her shirt is sleeveless and stops at her belly button, it's made of deer skin. She wears a shawl draped across her shoulders made also of cowhide it's a reddish brown. She wears heels with feathers pointing out the sides; these feathers are white, brown, and/or a soft mahogany.
She wears several bracelets made of feathers and tree roots, and atop her head rests a neat root headband that's been braided and laced with small feathers. Her hair is done up in swirled curls, in a loosely hanging bun at the back, and a small braid rests on her right shoulder. Her district partner, Arrow Arturo, wears no shirt and his pants are jeans with cow-skin chaps on the front. These chaps are black and white, like a traditional cow. He wears brown cowboy boots and a bear claw necklace. His hair is messy and uncombed, looking as if he didn't really care about anything. He waved and captured the audience with his smile, while Scarlett scowled and constantly rolled her eyes at him.
"Hahaha! Oh ladies and gentlemen, Caesar just kissed his schedule when he saw he had the day off tomorrow on Capitol News!" Pullox' voice boomed through the mic and the room filled with laughter as he wiped tears from his eyes. "Oh, ho ho, being an interviewer for the games, and a news reporter for the Capitol isn't easy folks! So of course I'm glad to have a day off. But don't get me wrong; I love Panem and am proud to report it's news!" Caesar spoke up. "In other news, here comes District Eleven in their chariot, having white horses instead of black like the others, what a pleasant surprise!" Pullox pulled the audiences attention back to the parade happening now. "And a beautiful day it is, their outfits are lovely, great job Stylist!" Caesar announced.
District 11 woman costume:
She wears a beautiful white silk dress. Her dress is whiter than snow, shines like the sun, and softer than a butterfly wing. She has silver like the sparkles in the air. Her shoes are silver also. She wears a see through white cloth on her arms. She has a green crown with diamonds in the top. She has also have a pink hawaiian flower. And pink lipgloss.
District ll man costumes:
White tux with a silver tie and black shoes. He has also have a green crown.
They are supposed to be the embodiment of mother and father nature.
"Mmhmm, and now we're down to our last tributes, the final chariot, ladies and gentlemen it's District Twelve!" Caesar said excitedly, feeling he had to make some sort of grand announcement for the district that never won.
District Twelve, the district of coal mining. As Katniss pointed out in the books, District 12 always came to the parade dressed as-- you guessed it --coal miners!
The female is dressed in embarrassing white coal miners attire. It's been dirtied to represent how much work the miners in twelve do. Kydler is totally angry at her stylist for dressing them this way, there's not really anything special about her district. Her partner however, was not dismayed by this torturous costume, he was just excited to be here! Mike Wizowsky waved and smiled and even made jokes to the Capitol citizens, while Kydler scowled on her side of the chariot, hoping that if she looked tough sponsors would pick her out as a winner and maybe she'd survive the arena.
"Uh, you know-- I don't really know what to say, Caesar." Pullox said nervously. Caesar was quiet a moment before responding, "I know what you mean, but lets not upset the poor tributes, they were amazing! And they make that coal miners outfit look good!" Caesar argued, waving down at the crowd and giving a thumbs up. "Ladies and gentlemen that was Kydler Green, with her partner Mike Wizowsky!" Pullox caught on to Caesars excitement and joined in. Caesar made a few more jokes before signing off to broadcast the President's Speech.
"Ladies and gentlemen of Panem, I want to thank those of you who could be here in person; and even thank you to those who are at home watching this on live television, I-" The President was interrupted by a scream from the chariots. Displeased, his eyes scanned the tributes until they came to District Five where Coriolanus Adver screeched again, causing President Snow to flinch and glare at the kid. "I want to thank-" "Yaaooow!" Adver's yelling made the crowd murmur and his partner try desperately to shush him. Snow glared at him and then proceeded without further interruptions. "I want to say a special thanks to our interviewer for another years game, Caesar Flickerman, and another special thanks to our Gamemakers, especially the head Gamemaker Drakosa, whom are no doubt working to build an amazing arena which will please us all greatly. And another thanks to all the Mentors and Stylists for doing so wonderful with your tributes." He went on to say several other things about the games, a speech about the rebellion, the war, the Capitol winning and that no one should defy us. He ended with; "And May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor. Happy Hunger Games!" And the chariots raced back to their starting point, taking the districts to their rooms in the Training Center for a goodnight's sleep until morning, when training begins.
