Purify
"No! There has to be another way! There's no way that Void's bane is Gaea." Logan exclaimed.
"Kuuipo's right. Although there are no myths about Void and we don't know who his bane actually is, Mother is Gaea. That's our only lead, so we need to take it." Annabeth explained.
We all nodded. "But where do we go? What ritual do we have to do to bring her back to life?" Noah asked.
"We should go to the place Gaea was permanently put to sleep, which is right outside of camp." Percy suggested.
"That would make sense." Leo agreed. Hazel and Frank nodded their heads. Piper and Jason pondered on that for a bit before agreeing with what Leo said.
"Then it's settled. We have to bring Gaea back from her slumber." I said
-
We went to the pavilion for lunch, starving, since we all skipped breakfast to go to the meeting. Not being able to tell anyone what we're going to do, I quietly sat down and ate my breakfast, which consisted of a bagel and a smoothie.
Quickly after eating, the four of us gathered near the forest and away from the training campers. We walked for a while until reaching a clearing.
"This is where Leo flew to kill Gaea. She fell here after blowing up. We have to combine powers to create an aura powerful enough to bring her soul back to life." Annabeth explained.
"How do you know all of this?" Percy asked.
"Heightened powers, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth giggled as Percy softly punched her in the arm. Aww, they're so cute together!
We stood in a circle, holding hands. Percy and Noah across each other, and Annabeth and I across of each other. I closed my eyes, feeling that the others were too. Channeling my energy into the middle of the circle, I opened my eyes slightly to see if we were all glowing. I was curious, okay?
Sure enough, we were all glowing white. I smiled and closed my eyes again. I concentrated on sending my energy to the middle again. I finally opened my eyes again and let go of everyone's hands after the surge of power left my body.
There was an blast and growls coming from behind us. The aura that we had created was still there, unmovable, but we had to stop because there was a disturbance coming from our surroundings.
We turned around to see Krios and Koios there, along with a couple hellhounds. "Well, what do you know! Void was right!" Koios chuckled and Krios grinned evilly.
How'd they know we were here?! Are one of the 6 spies? Or maybe the 7?
We charged, Annabeth and I taking Krios and the Poseidon brothers taking Koios. Using my wings, I flew up to Krios' height and slashed at his face with my stygian ice arm, which turned into a blade, while Annabeth tried to wound his sword arm with her drakon bone sword.
But the titans were faster, stronger, and smarter. Krios knew what we were planning and quickly stepped backwards. He reached out and grabbed Annabeth. She struggled in his grip but then quickly shadowtraveled out of his grasp, startling the titan.
"How?!" He asked, bewildered. "Chaos, that's how." I said as I shot a ball of pure light energy at him. He couldn't dodge it and ended up stumbling back. They were both facing us as we grouped up back together.
Then we felt a flash behind us. We turned to see Gaea.
But from the stories I was told about her, she didn't look the same. She looked more healthy. She had a beautiful green dress and a flower crown around her long wavy hair. She looked more like a lady in her twenties than a wrinkly grandma.
I got on one knee, along with the others. "Lady Gaea, what an honor to meet you."
"Stand up, children." She said, in a kind voice.
"Mother?" I heard Koios ask. I almost forgot that they were there.
"My children, oh how long it has been since I've seen you." She exclaimed, rushing over and hugging them both.
They were both a bit confused as to why their mother was all of a sudden softhearted.
"You've been corrupted by Void. Millenia ago, Chaos' brother had corrupted Lady Gaea, along with you and your brothers, hoping that you'd all become the perfect soldiers." Annabeth piped up.
They looked at us evilly, as if they only realized then that we were still there. "YOU! YOU DID THIS TO OUR MOTHER!" They yelled, charging at us.
Gaea snapped her fingers and froze them in time. "How?!" I exclaimed. "I have all the powers of my children, it was just locked away when I was corrupted. Also, I always cared more for the Earth than anything else, so I didn't bother to use them either. " She explained.
I nodded, still slightly shocked. We flew up to both titans to their eye level. Annabeth and I put our hand on Krios' temple, one of us on each side of his head, Noah and Percy doing the same to Koios.
Gaea unfroze time and the two titans' eyes rolled back and they fainted.
"We just purified them, right? We didn't kill them?" Noah asked. I nodded.
"That means they're on our side now, right?" Percy asked. "Yes, they will be a vital part to defeat my former husband." Gaea said.
"Former husband?!" I exclaimed.
"Unfortunately, yes. After I had been corrupted by Void, I was forced to be his wife. When I was tricked and turned, so did all of my children, titans and giants alike.
For a while, I started to fight back to the darkness. I became a deadly weapon against Void and he had to put me to sleep all those millennia ago. But he used his life force to put me away, making him to weak. He had to stay in the Void." Gaea explained.
"Woah..." Noah trailed off.
"But now he's out and trying to corrupt everything Chaos had created." Annabeth claimed.
"We need a plan of how to find the spy. Someone from the meeting is a traitor." I said. "Someone's giving info to Void."
"Who would it be? No one out of the 7 would go against the camp. None of the 6 either because we just saved camp." Percy questioned.
"I know Luke and Zoë guys aren't spies either because we had to purify them." Noah explained.
"Well then that leaves us to no one." I sighed.
"I can help infiltrate Void's ranks by creating traps in the earth." Gaea spoke up. "Thank you Lady Gaea, we are very honored that you are assisting up in this war." Annabeth kindly smiled.
Gaea smiled in return, slowly sinking back into the earth, taking her unconscious children with her. "I'll keep a lookout for any campers around the base."
"Wow...I did not see that coming." I said. "She is Void's bane."
We all walked back to camp in silence. As we made the clearing of all the cabins, it was as if nothing happened. But I mean no one knows yet about what's coming.
But I kind of wish that there weren't anymore wars. I didn't really want to be apart of this prophecy, but I wouldn't want any of my siblings to take my place. I'd rather take the fault for everything rather than them.
"You okay?" Noah nudged me. "Uh, yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about everything from the past week." I smiled, losing my train of thought. He nodded, understanding that I didn't really want to talk about it at the moment.
We all split up and did our daily activities. Percy and Noah were at the archery range, Percy teaching and Noah practicing with the rest of the campers. Annabeth was teaching greek mythology. And I went to sword practice, where Piper was teaching and the Aphrodite cabin was training.
"Hey Daniel, Piper." I greeted, walking over to them.
"How'd it go?" Piper asked. Daniel looked like he was eager to know as well.
"We did it. But we were ambushed by Koios and Krios. We had to purify them with the help of Gaea. They're on our side now, but we almost didn't make it. Either someone was spying on us during the meeting or one of us is the spy." I claimed.
Daniel and Piper glanced at each other. "Do you have any leads as to who it is?" Daniel asked, looking at me. I shook my head.
"Mentors and Prophecy of 6 report to the dining hall immediately." I heard Chiron shout through a microphone. We started running to the dining hall, nervous, since this had never happened before.
We finally got there to see a crowd of people, some screaming, some crying.
"What's going on?" I yelled, pushing my way through the crowd. I made my way to the front of the crowd, but froze at what I saw.
There was a camper on the ground, a pool of blood surrounding their body. A dagger with Void's symbol was sticking out of their shoulder blades. I held back a sob as I realized who it was.
Jason Grace was dead.
