The Black Goddess
Turns out I did reveal who the other two survivors were. I obviously had to include Lucy as she's normally who survives in Fairy Tail, but I just felt it was right to include Damos too. And boy, did my main OC get to shine too. In his silver king form, I truly believe that it makes Damos my strongest OC I've ever made, even more than demon Ayu and Cry with his reality warping powers. But, we've still yet to complete this story and there may be some awesome stuff down the line. And remember, after this chapter, we'll be switching over to our world 3 team and their mission! I'm just guessing here but we may be about halfway through with these other world mission at this point, which means everything will be coming to an end very, very soon. Enjoy!
-POV: Neela-
After Mard Geer cast his Alegria curse, I thought myself and Tetsa were done for. We were both swallowed up by this living flesh and essentially frozen inside of it. There was nothing but darkness within. We couldn't see. We couldn't hear. We couldn't even breath. But, we weren't dying. It was a state of limbo.
But, in a moment of hope, the flesh melted away. This fire that rampaged through the castle spread even to where we were and it burned away the flesh that was trapping us. We were free once again.
"What..... happened.....? How did..... What destroyed the curse?" I questioned as I looked over to Tetsa who laid on her back, breathing very heavily. I rushed over to her and saw her wound from when she cut into herself was becoming worse. It was looking infected now.
"Oh my gosh, Tetsa, are you alright!?" I asked her as I helped her stand back up to her feet.
"I'll..... i'll be fine. Once this is all over..... then we can worry about me." She said to me but I just couldn't help but feel concerned for her health. I helped her walk down a corridor which, thankfully, had no enemies in it. As far as I knew, we were on one of the upper levels of the castle. And near us, we could feel an overwhelming presence of magic energy. That's where we were headed.
"This feeling ahead of us..... It's utterly staggering. What could it be?" I thought to myself as we arrived at a side corridor. And down it was where the magic energy was emanating from.
"Neela..... be prepared. We don't know what's down there.... but odds are that it'll attack us...." Tetsa said as I gave her a nod. We made our way through this corridor and, when we reached the end, we arrived at a spherical shaped room with nothing but a bridge that led to a platform in the centre. And, on that platform was the same demon that tortured us not too long ago. In front of her were all of these holographic screens displaying a bunch of different statistics.
"Ah, so you two were able to escape after all." The demon said without even looking at us. She could just feel our presence and knew we had entered the room. She turned to face us and she had a twisted smile on her face.
"The demon bugs I used rejected you, and it looks like Tetsa here cut hers right out of her body. I'm sure the pain was unbearable, and it looks like you're really suffering from it." The demon said to us as I ignited my right hand in flames.
"What are you doing in here? What are all those screens for?" I demanded to know as the demon giggled away.
"Face's activation was put on a halt by your little friends that went to its location. They blew up the main bomb by giving up their very lives. But that hasn't stopped us from completely wiping out all magic from this continent!" The demon explained to us.
"Rishia.... And Wendy..... they did what....?" I asked as a heavy sadness grew over both me and Tetsa.
"They died so they could stop the countdown. But it was in vain because we've found a way around this issue. Organic Link Magic." The demon said to us.
"And what's that supposed to be?" Tetsa asked her.
"Your friends merely stopped one bomb from detonating. The bomb that we were going to set off. But, there's hundreds, maybe even thousands more to activate. And, thanks to my organic link magic, I've connected myself to each and every other Face bomb. I've started the countdown once again, only it'll take 10 minutes for them to go off." The demon explained.
"So, if we slay you before that countdown reaches zero, the countdown will stop and the Faces won't detonate?" Tetsa asked her as she giggled again.
"Perhaps. Assuming you can kill me before that happens." The demon said to us as a second demonic presence filled the room. Appearing next to the demon was a spherical portal and walking out of it was woman. She had black twisted hair, a patch over her right eye, her upper body and waste area covered in bandages, and her hands and feet were sharp black talons, and she dawned a black cloak as well.
"No..... why did it have to be you?" Tetsa said, revealing that she knew who this new demon was.
"It has been quite a while, hasn't it, Tetsa? You're looking like you're about to keel over and die. I kind of wish that's how it was when we fought during the Grand Magic Games, but no. You ruined everything by beating me that day. And then you made me look like an even greater fool by losing to that Erza! But now that I've acquired the curse powers of a demon, I won't lose to you ever again!" The new demon roared as she laughed maniacally.
"Minerva..... to think you would stoop to something this low.... you gave up your humanity..... all for petty revenge." Tetsa said to her as she made me let go of her. Tetsa stood straight up and took a deep breath, then she began to emanate a powerful magic aura.
"I'll let you have your fun with them, Minerva. Just hold them off for a bit until Face goes off and they lose their magic. Then we can kill them." The other demon said to Minerva.
"I don't think so, Kyoka. My only concern right now is Tetsa. I don't care for the other one. I'm leaving her for you to deal with!" Minerva said to the other demon as her and Tetsa charged each other. They clashed by locking hands with each other and then headbutting one another. But neither fell back. They both remained strong.
"Your magic is able to nullify any other as long as it's weaker than your own! But in the face of my new curses, you can't nullify them at all! I've become unstoppable!" Minerva roared as she let go of Tetsa's left hand and reeled back her arm. In her palm, a black sphere appeared and she thrusted it forward right into Tetsa's gut. She sent her sliding back a bit but I stopped Tetsa by catching her in my arms.
"Tetsa, you're in no condition to fight right now! Please, let me handle this!" I pleaded to her but she refused.
"Neela, i'm fine! She doesn't care about you anyway. Only me. No matter what you do, she's dead set on killing me. So just leave her all to me and focus on Kyoka!" Tetsa said as Minerva came running at her. But, instead of letting Tetsa fight her, I stepped in between them and threw a punch at Minerva with my flaming right fist. I struck her right in the face and made her slide back a few feet.
"Get out of my way, creature! I have no qualms with you! Only that bitch behind you!" Minerva shouted to me but I stood my ground.
"No, I will remain here. If you want Tetsa so badly, then you'll have to take both of us down." I said menacingly to her as she grinded her teeth and screamed from frustration.
"So be it then! One more death will have to suffice me! Territory Obstruction!" Minerva shouted as she made a multicolored transparent sphere appear around my body.
"Neela, move! NOW!" Tetsa shouted as she reached from behind me, grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me out of the sphere before it exploded.
"Her magic, or, I guess curses are called "Territory." She has the ability to disrupt the very space around us. If you get caught in one of those attacks, she can rip you to shreds on an atomic level. You have to be careful around her at all times." Tetsa explained to me as she stepped up to my side and used her magic to form her dark bow and some arrows. She drew and arrow and took aim at Kyoka behind Minerva.
"One shot. That's all this will take." Tetsa said as she released the arrow which flew so fast it actually went right over Minerva and headed right for Kyoka who was busy inputting more stats to speed up the activation process of Face.
"I don't think so! You're facing me and me alone!" Minerva said as she reached behind her with one of her hands and stopped the arrow dead in its tracks by trapping it inside one of her spheres. She crushed it until nothing was left and then she aimed her other hand at us.
"Die, you scum!" Minerva roared as she made a huge sphere in the air that she then sent flying at us.
"I've got this!" I said as I stepped forward. But, Tetsa put her arm out and stopped me, going forward herself to deal with the attack.
"No. This one's mine!" Tetsa screamed as her whole body began to radiate with a dark aura.
"Second Origin: Ancient Godly Vigor!" Tetsa roared as she morphed into her dark armor like before.
"Shadow God Slayer Secret Arts: Catastrophes Light!" Tetsa cried as her hands changed into large black and purple claws. She then leaped straight for the incoming attack and, with one swing of her claws, she slashed right through it and landed right in front of Minerva.
"Even when i'm injured and you have the powers of a demon, you still can't defeat me! You'll never beat me, Minerva! Not now! Not ever!" Tetsa shouted as she grabbed Minerva's right arm and then, with all her might, she threw her over her head and over to me.
"Neela, take her down, right now!" Tetsa shouted to me as I brought my hands together.
"As source of thy power, I order thee! Decipher the laws of nature and rain down thunder and lightning on my opponent! Grand Bolt!" I chanted as I launched a massive thunderbolt from my hands that struck Minerva. She screamed in absolute agony as I kept up my assault for a few seconds before she fell to the ground. I finally stopped then and saw her body was smoking. Her body was shaking, meaning she wasn't dead yet. And, I moved in to finish her off once and for all.
"Heavens Bolt Blade!" I said as my sword made of lightning appeared in my hands. I walked right up to Minerva and held my blade over her, ready to strike her down. But, before I could move it, Tetsa reached out and grabbed my wrist to stop me.
"As much as I hate her, I can tell she's still human within that demonic body. Even she doesn't deserve death. She just nothing but a sore loser. Spare her, Neela." She said to me as I gave her a nod, making my sword disappear as we left Minerva to lay there on the ground.
"Bravo for defeating one of my newest underlings, girls. Now, how much time do you think has passed since you began your little struggle with little Minerva?" Kyoka asked us as we both became worried.
"Only one minute left before all the Faces go off. Do you think you can beat me in time?" Kyoka asked us as she giggled away.
"Just one minute? Then I see no reason for us to worry. We've got all the time we need to take you down, Kyoka and stop the countdown to Face's activation!" Tetsa roared with pride as Kyoka then became curious.
"Oh? And how will you do that? It took you 9 minutes to best Minerva and i'm much, much stronger than her. Whatever can you do to defeat me in so much less time!?" Kyoka asked with a twisted laugh as Tetsa's body began to emanate and even darker aura.
"With a single attack that no foe can withstand." Tetsa said as her whole body became pitch black in colour and began to reshape itself. Two scale wings with claws attached to the ends of them grew out of her back and latched onto her shoulders. That same scaly pattern appeared over the rest of her body as well, and her hands and arms became sharp claws and talon. And to complete her transformation, horns grew out from where her eyes were, black and purple in colour. This reminded me of miss Ayuma's transformation into a demon, but the aura she gave off was not sinister like hers. The aura I could feel..... it was absolute power!
"Battle Goddess: Black Sekhet!" Tetsa roared as Kyoka became interested.
"So, the god slayer is capable of turning into an actual war goddess, I see. How very amusing, but not even a war god can match my demonic power!" Kyoka bragged as Tetsa brought her fists together, one on top of the other and began pooling all of her magic energy into them.
"Whether this transformation is strong enough or not, the attack it allows me to perform is unmatched, even compared to the strongest wizards on this planet!" Tetsa cried as an enormous object started to form itself within her fests and in front of her body.
"No matter how strong you claim to be, you will not survive this next mighty blow! Because this attack cuts through dimensions!" Tetsa roared as the object became complete. Tetsa held a gigantic black sword which she proceeded to lift over her head.
"Dimensions!? No! That's not possible! No human wizard is capable of such an act of strength!" Kyoka shouted with fear in her voice.
"GOD SLAYERS ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE: BLACK EXCALIBUR!!!!" Tetsa roared as she swung her mighty blade down, unleashing a huge wave of black magic that struck Kyoka.
"This magic.... this power..... it's..... it's too much!!!!! I can't...... Stop it!!!!! Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!" Kyoka screamed as the magic split her in two.
"As long as I still breathe, I will never allow you to activate Face." Tetsa said as her black sword disappeared, as did her transformed body. She turned back into her normal clothing and then collapsed to her knees in exhaustion. I crouched down next to her to make sure she was alright.
"We did it..... we stopped..... her from.... starting Face....." Tetsa said while breathing very heavily as we suddenly started to hear Kyoka giggling again.
"I never said defeating me would stop the countdown. Even if you've struck me down, Face will never be stopped! You lose, wizards! Demons will reign supreme in this world!!!" Kyoka's two halves cheered in victory as they both shattered into nothing but dust in the wind.
"No..... that can't be..... she must be lying..... she was linked to all the bombs herself, and we killed her! That link should stop all the bombs from detonating!" I said in complete disbelief as, all of a sudden, the ground began to rumble violently.
"It's too late..... We lose...." Tetsa said as she slumped over forward and completely fainted.
"Tetsa! TETSA, WAKE UP! YOU'RE NOT DEAD! YOU CAN'T BE!" I shouted as I picked up her upper body in my arms and shook her gently a bit. But, no matter what I tried, she wasn't waking. And then..... everything came to an end for us. All at once, I felt a huge wave of energy rush through the air and penetrate me. It was brief, but right after it went through me, I felt absolutely nothing. No magic at all was coursing through my body anymore.
"They did it..... Tartaros succeeded..... Face has gone off.... and now.... all the magic on the continent.... is gone!!!!" I cried as tears rolled down from my eyes. I can only imagine what is happening to my friends right now as they were all battling throughout the castle. All their magic would've simply vanished in an instant. And with it all gone..... they're all going to die.
"We can't win now.... we can't defend Melromarc either. It's all over for us..... We've failed...." I cried to myself as I just sat their with Tetsa's seemingly lifeless body in my arms.
"At last, the world becomes a place where only the strong can reside in. I see no place where trash like either of you can be in this world of ours. Begone!" I heard a familiar voice shout as I turned my head to see Minerva standing behind me, launching one of her spheres at me. It struck me right in my back and exploded on contact, sending me flying and ripping up the skin on my back. I landed about 20 feet away from where Tetsa laid, and Minerva now stood over her with her right foot pressing down on her head.
"Get away from her, you witch!" I shouted to Minerva as she formed another sphere in her right hand, but then changed its shape into that of a black katana.
"This girl has been a monumental thorn in my life since the moment I met her. And, in the brief time we've encountered one another, so have you. You both infuriate me beyond comprehension and I wish for nothing more than to end both of your pathetic, miserable lives. And now, with all the magic on this continent ceasing to exist, I can now do just that! First will be the ruiner of my entire life! First will be Tetsa! And then, it'll be your turn, Neela! Prepare to die!!!!" Minerva roared with absolute fury as she raised her sword up into the air and then began to thrust it down at Tetsa.
"SSSSSTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I suddenly blacked out.
-POV: Third Person-
As Minerva prepared to end Tetsa's life once and for all, Neela let out one final cry to beg her to stop. However, due to her cruel and unforgiving nature, Minerva ignored her cries and moved in to kill Tetsa. With magic now non-existent, Neela had no way to stop Minerva from slaying her new friend. And, as Minerva brought her sword down onto her, Neela's body froze.
"I DIAS POTS!!!" Neela suddenly shouted in a much deeper voice than normal as she raised her right arm straight out and pointed at Minerva. As her sword was about to pierce Tetsa's body, Minerva suddenly froze too.
"What!? What's going on!? Why can't I move!?" Minerva questioned as she tried desperately to drive her katana into Tetsa. But then, she looked over to Neela whose body was shaking. Neela raised her head up to reveal her eyes had become pitch black in colour and the veins within her body had become black as well.
"What are you!?" Minerva asked her as Neela began to raise her up arm, making Minerva also start to float up into the air.
"Uoy truh eht seno I dloh raed ot em. Dna rof taht, uoy tsum eid!" Neela roared as she began to close her hand into a fist.
"Aagh! I.... I can't...... breathe! Please..... stop! I can't..... I can't....." Minerva struggled to say as Neela telepathically choked the life out of her.
"Hsirep ni eht lanrete kcalb semalf fo lleh flesti!" Neela shouted as her right hand burst into black flames, as did her hair and eyes. Minerva's whole body combusted in black flames as well and she screamed in absolute agony from the burning pain engulfing her body.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! STOP IT! STOP IT, NOW! PLEASE!!!!! I BEG YOU TO STOP!!!!" Minerva wailed but Neela kept up her relentless assault on her.
"I deggeb tsuj ekil uoy did, tub did uoy niarfer? ON! Uoy t'ndid! Os rehtien lliw I!!!!" Neela howled as Minerva continued to burn. Her body was becoming charred and an unnatural smoke was emerging from her mouth and eyes. Neela made the smoke fly over to her and she opened her mouth to swallow the smoke and absorb it into her body. Minerva's demonic features were disappearing off of her body, and after just a few seconds, she now looked human again.
"Fi uoy did ton eid, neht tel taht eb eht ycrem I evig ot uoy." Neela said as she released Minerva from her deathly black flames. Minerva dropped to the ground and slumped over on her side, unconscious from the punishment she had just received. Her body charred beyond repair as Neela walked over and stood over her. Minerva was still breathing though, so Neela had granted her the greatest form of mercy. Life.
"My, my, what a marvelous display of raw power." A new spectator said as they entered the room. Neela turned to face this new person and her furious eyes met with a man. He had long black hair in the style of a bushy ponytail, he dawned a black and white jacket with grey pants to match and black leather shoes. And, in his hands was a dusty, partially ripped book with the letters E.N.D engraved on it.
"It seems despite Face finally activating, you somehow were able to keep your supernatural abilities. You've made me quite curious, indeed." The man said to her as Neela ignited her hands with her black flames.
"Ohw era uoy!?" She shouted to him.
"Who am I? Oh, pardon me, whatever happened to my manners? I am the underworld king of this world. I am Mard Geer Tartaros." He introduced himself as Neela's rage began to grow.
"Os uoy erew eht eno ohw detrats lla siht? Rof taht, I llahs dne uoy htiw siht rewop I dleiw!" Neela roared in a fury as she aimed both of her hands at Mard Geer and unleashed an enormous channel of flames from them.
"End me, you say? I think not, little girl. No, in fact, neither of us shall die today. You've peeked my interest with this dark power you possess. It reminds me of another who came to meet me not long ago. A black demon of another world." Mard Geer said as he raised his right hand up and held it flat in front of him. Mere inches before the flames hit him, they stopped in their tracks and Mard Geer waved his hand to his right and made the flames follow, redirecting them around him.
"Os, ti saw uoy ohw ti emac ot tsrif, saw ti? I wonk ti dereffo uoy a ecnahc ot rueqnoc a wen dlrow fi uoy depleh ti. Uoy dna eht tser fo eht snomed fo siht dlrow dluow nioj s'ti ymra dna yortsed ym dlrow! Llew, I lliw ton tel taht neppah!" Neela spoke as her body began to change even more. Her black veins were nearly popping out of her body now, as the entire left side of her upper body, including her arm was changing shape. Black scales were forming over that part of her body, and her arm and left hand grew sharp spines and claws. And, a single black dragon-like wing burst out of her back.
"I see there's more for you to show me. My, you are so fascinating. A mere humanoid creature that houses the soul of a demon. I've never seen anything like it and it raises my spirits through the roof! If I had a soul of my own, it would be ecstatic! Now, show me what you can do! What can a hybrid creature like you do to the underworld king!?" Mard Geer roared as his body began to generate a dark aura.
"S'tel dnif tuo!" Neela replied as they both unleashed powerful attacks at each other. Neela fired another stream of black flames while Mard Geer countered by creating a wall of thick thorny vines. The two attacks collided and an explosion filled the room. Neela jumped in front of Tetsa's unconscious body to protect her from the shockwave, but Mard Geer capitalized during the opening.
"A fierce attack to match my own! But, I've merely begun to show my power! Show me more!" Mard Geer shouted as he leaped through the smoke cloud from the explosion, reached out with his right arm and grasped Neela's face. He forced her head into the floor and then he began dragging her across the ground.
"Teg ffo fo em!" Neela shouted as she grabbed onto Mard Geer's arm with her left arm and dug her claws into his skin. Neela made Mard Geer stop as he grunted in pain from her desperate attack. He let go of her and stepped back a bit so he could grasp his arm.
"It appears you resort to tactics befitting of a wild beast for the moment. Will that change as we continue our battle? It's all very intriguing, indeed. The first known human, animal, and demon hybrid in this world. I'm sure your body is just aching from you fighting that demon within! Let it out, girl! Let your hatred guide you and show me what you're really capable of!" Mard Geer roared with excitement as he waved his right arm across his body.
"Rose thorns." He said as several black roses popped out of the ground and grew larger and larger by the second.
"Rose explosion!" Mard Geer shouted as the roses suddenly blew up and sent Neela flying against a wall. But the attack didn't seem to phase her at all she she got back onto her feet and started walking towards Mard Geer.
"Rof lla eht live sdeed ev'uoy dettimmoc, rof lla eht tneconni elpoep ev'uoy derethguals, I lliw ekirts uoy nwod dna dne siht hsimriks ecno dna rof lla!!!! Eraprep ot eid!!!!" Neela roared with righteous fury as her and Mard Geer charged one another once again.
After encountering Kyoka who had restarted Face's countdown sequence, both Tetsa and Neela did everything they could to slay her before the timer reached zero. And, in the midst of their battle, a horror from Tetsa's past reappeared in the form of a woman named Minerva who had turned herself into a demon. But, after Neela briefly put her out of commission, Tetsa took charge and used all her might to strike down Kyoka just as the timer was reaching its end. But, while their efforts at first seemed successful, they were far from victorious. Face still went off and now, all magic on the continent ceases to exist. And then, when an injured Minerva attempted to slay Tetsa, the inner demon within Neela finally surfaced. She removed all features of the formerly demonic Minerva and absorbed them into her body, which caught the interest of something much more sinister. The underworld king, Mard Geer. Now, Mard and Neela are locked in combat. A hybrid demi-human and demon collides with the demon king. A fight that could determine which side wins and which one loses begins.
