Last chapter was so nice to do. Got to reveal Drake's big secret and his and Leena's backstory. But honestly, out of the 4 members of team DLTA, Temair probably had the most tragic backstory. I'm not going to get into it, but if you want to find out what happened, you can go read my Team DLTA story. It's on part 5 in the RWBY storyline as of right now. Anyways, 2 chapters have passed for that team, meaning we switch over to team 1 again. It's the start of the quarter finals and the first match is one I've been so hyped to do for a long while. Ayuma and Todoroki will clash, and I guarantee you will never guess what happens. Enjoy!

-POV: Ayuma-

When I woke from my long rest, the round of 16 had ended. Now, only 8 of us remained, and there was still 3 people from our team in the competition. Itsuki and Filo had gone off somewhere but no one knew to where, but we weren't concerned with them at the moment. Right now, I was more concerned with my upcoming fight because I was first up. 

My next opponent was one of U.A's big three. He's the one who knocked out Itsuki in the previous round. Shoto Todoroki is going to be an incredibly difficult opponent based solely on the fact he has more than one ability with his quirk. His strategy in all of his fights so far was to overwhelm his opponents, then either catch them with his ice or blast them with fire. I have to think fast during this fight, otherwise, I'm going to lose. 

I was currently trying to come up with a plan of attack in my waiting room. I told everyone else to leave me alone so I could focus and they allowed me my privacy. 

"Let's see..... I can't put on the same pressure Todoroki can with my powers. He can use his much faster than I can so I can't overwhelm him like he'll do to me. But, he doesn't move very much when using his powers. If I can somehow avoid his attacks and then capitalize on that opening, that may be my chance to strike him." I thought to myself as Present Mic and Wrath Queen were getting the crowd hyped up again.

"It's time, all you roaring sports festival fans! Yes, it's time we kick off our quarter finals!" Mic announced as I figured it was time for me to go. I exited my waiting room and went to my entrance gate to wait for my name to be called. 

"Before we start though, let's give a quick recap on who's still left in the competition! If everyone here would please focus your attention onto the big screen, you'll see who's battling in the next four matches!" Wrath Queen said as I saw everyone turn their heads to look at the jumbo TV screen. 

Match 1: Ayuma vs. Todoroki

Match 2: Krystal vs. Midoriya

Match 3: Alex vs. Bakugo

Match 4: Cry vs. Tetsutetsu

"Every member of U.A's big three is still in the running to take the crown this year! And we can't forget about our reigning champion! That's right, Cry's still here as well and he's looking to make it three years in a row! But, he's gotta get past his best friend, Tetsutetsu in his next match! It's looking to be a spirited match between the two!" Mic announced. 

"And, in our third match, the calm and collected Alex faces the unstoppable Bakugo! Can Alex's mastery of metal withstand the brute force of Bakugo's explosions!? Or will Bakugo rampage past his opponent and move on to the semi finals for a third year in a row!? I surely can't wait to find out!" Wrath Queen said as the crowd cheered with her. 

"But before that, we'll see U.A's curly haired speedster, Midoriya, go blow to blow with the light wielder herself, Krystal! And let me tell ya, I've got no clue who to cheer for in that one! It's looking to be a dead even battle to the finish!" Mic said as Wrath Queen took over once more. 

"But first! It's our opening fight! Let's bring out the contestants!" She roared into her microphone as the crowd got super pumped up. 

"Sounds like the crowd's ready! And so are we! For our first fighter, rumor has it if she removes that eye patch on her face, her true powers will be revealed to the world! Her friends call her "Princess," but she is definitely no damsel! All the way from the United States of America, it's Ayuma!!!!!" Mic introduced me as I walked into the arena. I waved to the crowd as I normally would but I kept my focus more so on the battlefield. This battle was much more important that all my others to this point. If I can beat one of U.A's big three, then that'll make one hell of a statement.

"And her opponent! Being the son of the number one ranked hero in the world, that makes him the prince of the heroes! With a masterful control of two opposite elements, you know him, you love him! From Class 3-A and one of U.A's big three, it's Shoto Todoroki!!!!" Wrath Queen introduced him as he came walking into the arena. Like all the times before, he didn't wave to the crowd and only focused on the opponent in front of him. Me. 

"I look forward to our battle, Ayuma. May the best man win." Todoroki said as he cracked a small smile. 

"Thanks, but i'm pretty sure the woman's going to win this one." I jokingly said to him. 

"It's prince vs. princess! Who's gonna win in this clash of the titans!? Let's find out fight now! 3.... 2.... 1........ BEGIN!!!!!" Mic roared into his microphone as Todoroki made the first move. Like in all his matches before, he started with a barrage of ice spires that shot up from the ground. They approached me fast but thanks to Itsuki's match, I know what it'll take to shatter his ice.

"Barbarian Shock Wave!!!" I shouted as my fists began to glow with a black and white aura. I threw a hard punch that made contact with Todoroki's ice, and almost immediately, I blew it all away, turning the ice into teeny tiny crystals that floated down in the sky.

"You're gonna have to use a lot more ice if you wanna take me down!" I shouted as I threw another punch at the air in front of Todoroki. I fired a shock wave from my fist that flew straight for him. 

"That won't work on me!" He shouted as he crouched down and put his right hand on the battlefield floor. He made a huge ice wall rise up in front of him as my shock wave made contact. It seems he underestimated the strength of my attack though as it blasted through the ice and struck him right in the chest. I sent Todoroki sliding backwards on his feet but he was just able to stop before he slid out of bounds. 

"Ha! Like Present Mic said, this Princess ain't no damsel! Now, bring it, tough guy!" I shouted as Todoroki stepped back over to his spot he started in. He collapsed the ice wall down in front of him and then ignited his left side.

"It seems you're much stronger than I thought you were. Although, you were able to defeat Kirishima in his unbreakable mode, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. But, let's see if you can handle this!" Todoroki shouted as he waved his left arm forward and launched a huge stream of flames at me. 

"Yeah, let's see if I can, shall we!?" I replied to him as I fired another shock wave from my hands. It collided with his flames but was quickly overpowered. He broke through the shock wave and the flames just kept on coming towards me. I thought quickly and spread both of my wings and started flapping them. I took off into the air mere moments before being roasted by Todoroki.

"Your speed and power is quite formidable, but only having those two qualities doesn't make a good hero!" Todoroki shouted as he started making ice from his right foot again. Only this time, he was making a gargantuan wall that was sliding right for me. It was too high and moving too fast for me to fly over, which meant I could only go through it. 

"I can't tell how thick it is, which means I need something much stronger than my shock waves! Magic Combine! Blazing Plasma Fists!" I shouted as I produced flames in my right hand and electricity in my left. I brought them together to make pure plasma, a matter hot enough to melt right through his ice. 

"Let's see if your ice can stand up to this!" I shouted as I dove straight for the ice wall. I placed my hands in front of me and made contact. I was already starting to be pushed back to the edge but, slowly but surely, my plasma was melting through the ice. And, as I was just about to go over the edge, I went right through the ice wall. 

"And Ayuma just barely avoids a ring out! I know the match has only just started but that was way too close for me!" Mic announced. 

"Todoroki's shown us all why he's one of U.A's big three, but how will Ayuma respond to his immense power!? What does the exchange student from the U.S have up her sleeve!?" Wrath Queen shouted into her mic as I landed back on the ground.

"Looks like you've got all areas covered for me, Todoroki. On the ground or in the air, you know how to deal with me." I said to him as he let out a small chuckle. 

"I thought long and hard about how to deal with you and your abilities. This match is eerily similar to the finals when I was a first year. Myself and Cry fought each other and, at the time, he had some similar powers compared to what you currently have. I wasn't able to best those powers then, but I can now!" Todoroki said as he crouched down again and put his right hand on the battlefield. I was anticipating him to make another ice wall in front of him but nothing happened. At least, nothing happened in front of me. Instead, Todoroki made an ice wall rise up behind me and it started pushing me over to him fast. It was moving so fast that my arms could barely move. The speed force was pinning them to the wall."

"Sheer Cold Fist!" Todoroki shouted as he covered his right hand in a layer of ice. He reeled back his arm as I closed in on him and, when I was close enough, he threw his punch right into my face. He was so strong that he made me burst through the ice wall. It shattered completely as I landed hard on my back.

"Todoroki seems to be overwhelming Ayuma! The battle's looking a little one sided at the moment, but as we all know, surprises occur around every corner! I'm sure Ayuma's only begun to brawl!" Mic announced as I got back up to my feet. 

"As source of thy power, I order thee! Decipher the laws of nature and call upon the mighty creature of the thunderous clouds! Thunderbird's Shriek!" I shouted as I fired a bolt of lightning from both of my hands. I struck Todoroki and sent him flying across the battlefield where he landed on his side mere feet from the boundary line. 

"Woah! Ayuma retaliates with a shocking attack! Perhaps the tides are about to turn in her favor starting now!?" Wrath Queen said as Todoroki got back up. 

"I was too close to you to be able to dodge that lightning. I got careless. I can assure you that won't happen again." Todoroki said as he ignited his left side in fire again. 

"I've been thinking for a while now, Todoroki, that you may be the only person in this world who can wield both the elements of fire and ice. It's an absolutely devastating combination, for sure. But what would happen if someone with the same power combo appeared? How would you fight them?" I said as I started making flames in my right hand and an icy mist in my left. 

"Whether you have the same abilities as me, the outcome won't be any different. I've had more training with my quirk and have a better grasp at controlling it than you do. But, if you truly want to see who can wield the two elements better, than I accept your challenge!" Todoroki said as he waved his left arm forward and shot a huge burst of flames at me.

"As source of thy power, I order thee! Decipher the laws of nature and create a wall of ice that will never melt to any flame! Ice Titan's Barrier!" I shouted as I touched the ground with my left hand. I formed a circular ice shield appear in front of me that was easily 3 feet thick. Todoroki's flames made contact but I kept on adding more ice to the shield so he couldn't melt it all.

"That's an impressive defense but it won't last forever!" Todoroki shouted as he amped up the power and output of his flames. The wall of fire he launched at me grew even larger and it was threatening to blow away my ice shield.

"I can't.... hold this..... for much longer! Gotta.... move fast.... and use his power..... against him!" I shouted as I stopped creating ice for the shield. I waited for Todoroki to burst through the shield and, after about 3 seconds, the flames melted it away. They came at me quickly and I had only a few seconds to react. 

"Fiery Fist Formation! Flame Manipulation!" I shouted as I thrusted my right hand forward. The instant Todoroki's flames touched my palm, they stopped in midair. 

"Wait, what!? Ayuma's somehow just stopped Todoroki's flames dead in their tracks! How in the world is that possible!?" Mic questioned as Todoroki looked shocked at my choice of attack. 

"That shouldn't be possible!" He said in disbelief as I started waving my right hand around again. The flames followed my hand and swirled around my body. 

"It's alright if you don't believe what you're seeing. But just know that what you normally think isn't possible, can be! Nothing is impossible, and i'm proving it with this!" I shouted as I thrusted my right hand forward again and sent Todoroki's flames back at him.

"Ayuma's taken control of this battle by throwing Todoroki's strongest offense back at him! How is the flaming ice wielder going to respond!?" Wrath Queen announced as Todoroki started making ice from his foot again. But, instead of making spires or a wall, he covered the entire battlefield floor in a sheet of ice. It was incredibly slippery and I was losing my balance quickly. And, after enough time, I fell over and lost control of the flames. The fire dissipated before it could strike Todoroki and we were back to being in a stand still. 

"I must say, this battle has been more entertaining and challenging than I thought it would be. I thank you, Ayuma. But, i'm also sorry. Because every good battle must eventually come to an end. And that starts right now! I'm ending this and emerging victorious!" Todoroki shouted as he started producing both fire and ice from his body. 

"He can do both of them!? I thought he could only use one at a time! I didn't take this into account, so I don't know what's coming! I have to meet him head on with something equally as strong!" I thought to myself as I began to produce electricity in my right hand and a shock wave in my left. Meanwhile, Todoroki was making an ice wall behind him that was much larger than the ones he'd made before. And, the flames on his left side were becoming much smaller due to the cold of the ice, but i'm sure that would change very quickly. 

"It looks like Todoroki's planning to end this fight with his signature finishing move! We've only seen a small handful of people survive it before, but can Ayuma withstand it's awesome might too!? Hold onto your seats folks, because things are about to get wild!" Mic shouted as I began to charge up my own finishing move. 

"As source of thy power, I order thee! Decipher the laws of nature and grant me the power to merge two into one! Magic Combine! Shatter Bolt!" I shouted as I brought my two magic types together. And, on the other side of the battlefield, Todoroki's flames has begun to grow to immense size, melting the ice around him. 

"He's expanding the air! It's making his flames even hotter than normal! He's going to hit me with a huge explosion!" I thought to myself as I took off into the air and dived bombed for Todoroki. 

"Ultimate Move: Flashfreeze Heat Wave!" Todoroki shouted as he raised up his left hand and unleashed a colossal explosion. I met his attack head on by unleashing a huge golden beam of lightning. Our attacks collided with a vengeance in the centre of the battlefield and we were both holding our ground. 

"I..... WON'T...... LOSE!!!!!" We both shouted as we both amped up our power. The force of our attacks impacting was creating shock waves within the stadium itself that made it feel like an earthquake was occurring.

"HOLY S**T!!!! Somebody stop these two before they destroy this whole place!!! These attacks are off the charts!!!!" Present Mic screamed with insanity as our attacks finally ceased, creating a smokescreen large enough to fill the entire stadium. But, I knew I was still within the boundary line, and that I could still go on. And i'm sure Todoroki could still fight as well. I landed on the ground back over on my side of the battlefield as the smoke was cleared away. Both of us were revealed to the crowd and we both looked utterly exhausted. 

"THEY'RE STILL STANDING!!!???? WHAT THE ABSOLUTE HELL!!?? IN ALL MY YEARS OF HERO WORK, I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYONE TAKE ATTACKS LIKE THAT AND KEEP ON GOING!!! THESE TWO ARE SIMPLY INCREDIBLE!!!! AND WHAT A SPECTACLE THEY'VE PUT ON FOR US ALL TO WITNESS!!! THIS BATTLE, FOR ALL WE KNOW, COULD CROWN THE NEXT TOP HERO!!!!" Wrath Queen announced with pure excitement as she was practically leaning against the window to her booth. 

"Besides Cry..... Midoriya..... and Bakugo..... you're the first to withstand that attack of mine. I give you..... my utmost respect..... Ayuma....." Todoroki said while panting very heavily. 

"Thanks..... But, i'd say it was..... more lucky that I survived it. I didn't know..... if my attack could match yours..... You're really..... amazing..... you know that, Todoroki?" I said to him as he nearly lost balance and fell over. 

"So.... are you..... but..... i'm still.... going to beat you..... I've got one last..... move.... up my sleeve..... so here I come...." Todoroki said as his entire left arm burst into flames. The flames were getting bigger and bigger and changing shades to signify the intense increase in heat. 

"That's kinda funny..... because I've got one move left too...." I said as my right arm burst into dark red flames. The flames burned for only a moment before they took the shape of the dragon like before, wrapping its body around my arm and merging its head with my fist. I started stumbling my way to Todoroki as well and eventually we both found our footing and ran at one another. 

"WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, STOP!!!! BOTH OF THESE TWO ARE GOING FOR THEIR STRONGEST MOVES!!! THEY COULD TOTALLY WRECK THE STADIUM!!! WE ACTUALLY NEED TO STOP THEM THIS TIME!!! CEMENTOSS, MAKE A BARRIER OR SOMETHING, FAST!!!!" Present Mic shouted with fear as the cement hero placed his hands on the side of the battlefield. He made a thick wall of hardened cement rise up between us, and then another, and another, until we were separated by easily 10 feet of cement. But, even so, we both still kept on going. 

"A HERO NEVER BACKS DOWN FROM ANY CHALLENGE!!! THEY FIGHT 'TIL THEIR LAST BREATH AND UNTIL THEIR LAST DROP OF BLOOD IS SPILLED!!! I WON'T STOP! NOT NOW! NOT EVER!!!" I screamed as me and Todoroki both threw our punches at the cement walls. We blew threw them each with just one punch and now, only the one in the centre remained. We'd meet each other at last with this one final strike. 

"This technique was handed down to me by my father, the world's current number one hero! I used to regret carrying his power, but I've learned to accept it and him! I'll make him proud by achieving victory with the quirk he gave me!!!" Todoroki shouted as the flames on his left arm turned a bright and intense white colour. 

"Ultimate Move: Flash Fire Fist!!!!!" Todoroki roared as he unleashed his final attack. He struck the cement wall and blew it apart as I went for my final attack. 

"DRAGON HEART QUAKE STRIKE!!!!!" I roared as I threw my dragon fist with all my might at the cement wall. Our attacks blasted the cement apart with ease and, when our fists collided, the stadium..... no, the entire ground around us shook violently. 

"EVERYBODY RUN!!! IT'S NOT SAFE ANYMORE WITH THESE TWO GOING LIKE THIS!!! EVACUATE!!!!" Mic screamed as the spectators all rushed to leave the stadium.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Me and Todoroki roared at the top of our lungs as we both desperately tried to push the other back. But neither of us wanted to quit. So much was on the line for the both of us. But all things must eventually come to an end. With one last push by us both, our attacks created a monumental explosion that didn't just fill the entire stadium, but the smoke reached almost all the way up into the clouds above.

-POV: Krystal-

What we just witnessed was simply incredible. Actually, that's an understatement. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! The battle we just witnessed was awe inspiring but, because of the unstoppable force both Ayuma and Todoroki used, we were forced to evacuate for our own safety. And, I really don't blame them for making us leave. That final explosion was huge. It probably would've killed a fair amount of people had we all have stayed.

"Okay, everyone! Things are finally starting to calm down inside the stadium. Just give us a minute to clear up some of the smoke, then you can all enter and find out what's going on with our two combatants." Wrath Queen told everyone as we all stood the entrance to the stadium itself. 

"Do you think the battle's over?" Alex asked me as I just shrugged my shoulders. 

"No clue. I would hope so after a blast that big but looking at who was fighting, it's safe to say they could still get back up after all that." I said as Alex agreed with me. 

"Well, if the battle is finally over, let's just hope that Ayuma was the one who emerged victorious." He said as I nodded in agreement. 

"Okay, everybody! We've got the green light to go back inside!" Present Mic said as everyone started to make their way into the arena again. We found our way back to our balcony but, when we looked out and down to the battlefield, it was still covered in a thick cloud of smoke. We took a look around the stadium and saw the concrete walls had several large cracks in them. The giant TV screen was fine but it was glitching out. Overall, Ayuma and Todoroki didn't bring the whole place down and it was okay to continue with the other fights after this one concludes. 

"Hold on, the smoke's beginning to clear down there! Let's see what's happened to our two fierce fighters!" Wrath Queen announced as one of the two came into view. 

"And first to appear is Todoroki!!" Mic shouted as we got a good look at him. He was still within the arena bounds but was laying on his back. He wasn't moving an inch either and he was covered in blood. It came from his arms and his head. No doubt he received some serious injuries in that final exchange. 

"It looks like Todoroki's down for the count! He doesn't look like he'll be getting up anytime soon! But, what's become of his opponent!? Where is Ayuma!?" Wrath Queen questioned as the rest of the smoke cleared. Ayuma came into view and we all saw she was still standing up and still inside the boundary lines. 

"YES! SHE DID IT! HELL YEAH, THAT'S OUR AXE HERO!!! WOOHOO!!!" I cheered as everyone in the crowd began to cheer as well. 

"SHE'S DONE IT!!! AYUMA HAS DEFEATED TODOROKI IN ONE OF THE MOST BONKERS FIGHTS WE'VE EVER WITNESSED!!! SHE'S MOVING ON TO THE SEMI FINALS!!!!" Mic announced as the official came onto the battlefield and walked over to Ayuma. He adjusted the headset he was wearing and spoke into his microphone. 

"Both Ayuma and Todoroki are unable to continue! This battle is a draw!" The official announced as the entire crowd went silent.

"Wait, what!? But she's standing up! How can she be knocked out too!?" I questioned as we all looked to the big TV screen and saw it zoom in on Ayuma. Her body looked like it was in pieces. Severe burn marks on her chest, legs, arms, and face, blood coming out of her mouth and head. It didn't even look like she was breathing. Her eyes were a blank white colour as well and she carried a fierce smile on her face. 

"She overworked her body and knocked herself out....." Alex said in disbelief. I had no words to say. I just stood there and watched as our best chance at winning this tournament stood there completely unconscious. 

"WHAT A SHOCKING EVENT THAT HAS JUST OCCURRED! AYUMA IS DOWN FOR THE COUNT AS WELL!!!! THESE TWO GAVE IT THEIR ALL IN THAT FINAL EXCHANGE AN KO'D EACH OTHER!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!" Mic announced as if his brain was melting from all the insanity. 

"These two will have to be taken to the infirmary to have their wounds treated. When, or, if they wake up, they'll have a small contest to decide who moves on to the semi finals. That contest will be decided at a later time." Wrath Queen said as paramedics rushed onto the battlefield and took the two unconscious fighters away to be healed. 

"Amazing! Who could've predicted that one, folks!? Not me, that's for sure! Let's just hope those two can make a full recovery in time before the semi finals. Now, let's move on to match number 2!" Present Mic announced as the crowd agreed and cheered away with excitement. 

"Guess it's my turn then. Go make sure Ayuma's alright for me, okay, Alex?" I asked him as he gave me a stern nod. 

"I will. Good luck out there, Krystal. And please, win one for us. Ayuma fought too hard for that kind of outcome, so show everyone that it's not just her and Todoroki who have immense power." Alex said to me as I simply responded with a nod before leaving him and heading to my entrance gate. 

"Alright! After one crazy and nail biting opening match, let's move on to the second battle! Our first combatant, she shined like the sun in her second battle against Tokoyami! Her mastery of light itself is truly something to behold and i'm sure she's yet to show us what she's really made of! Here to keep her win streak alive, from the gorgeous country of Italy, it's Krystal!!!" Mic introduced me as I walked into the arena. I waved to the crowd as I normally would but this time I kept myself more focused forward. Now, the stakes were much higher. I have to live up to Ayuma's example. If she had to fight that hard to tie with one of U.A's big three, then that means i'll have to go even further in this next match. 

"And for her opponent! He displayed monstrous speed and strength in his previous bout against Filo! It was a close one but this student just narrowly claimed the win! Now, he's ready to continue that win streak! From class 3-A, and one of U.A's big three, it's Izuku Midoriya!" Wrath Queen introduced him as he came into the arena. He looked more focused then his last match, just like me. 

"He wants to live up to Todoroki's example, just like I want to for Ayuma...." I thought to myself as it was written all over his face.

"I know how you must feel after that last fight...." Midoriya said as I was a little surprised at what he just said to me. 

"Believe me, i'm concerned for both of them as well. Seeing them both nearly kill each other like that was honestly pretty scary. It's hard to focus in this fight when our friends lives are in limbo. But, even so, we have to fight on. We have to push forward and prevail! I'll win this battle for Todoroki's sake!" Midoriya roared with confidence as he gave me a thumbs up. 

"I see. I understand how you feel too, Midoriya. I too will give it my all in this fight. I'll battle on behalf of Ayuma, just like you with Todoroki. But, I can assure you that I will win." I said to him as we both took our ready positions, just waiting for the battle to start.

"If both combatants are ready, then let's get this party started! 3.... 2..... 1..... BEGIN!!!!"
