The top 16 is off to a roaring start! Itsuki may have lost but he's put on one heck of a performance, that's for sure! But, let's be real, do any of you think he could've beaten Todoroki? And, we have the awesome battle of Kirishima and Ayuma. It was so fun to do their fight. I really had to push Ayu to her limits though. And it really showed. She basically gave up but the voice of friends beats anything in front of you. You know, standard anime ability. And now, the first match of the quarter finals is set. Ayu will fight Todoroki in a battle for the ages. It's gonna be wild. But, we've still got 6 more fights to go. Enjoy!

-POV: Krystal-

"And with that, Ayuma advances to the quarter finals and will be facing Todoroki in the opening match!" We heard Wrath Queen announce from inside the infirmary. 

"She did it! YES!!" We all cheered as we stood around Itsuki's bed. He had regained consciousness but was badly damaged in his fight. But, thanks to U.A's head nurse, he was going to make a full recovery in a few hours. 

"She..... did..... it....." Itsuki said as he rested his head into his pillow and smiled. 

"Make way, people. We've got some injured coming through." Some paramedics said as they brought in two people on stretchers and laid them down on some empty beds. One was a boy with spiky red hair and sharp teeth, and the other was Ayuma. She was placed next to Itsuki and we all surrounded her. 

"We knew you could do it." Alex said as he took her left hand and held it tightly. Ayuma was in rough shape. She had bruises all over her body and her right arm was burnt a bit. 

"I didn't think I would win, honestly. That Kirishima..... his spirit was overwhelming. He could've won easily." Ayuma said as she rested her head back. 

"It was really that close? Now I wish I got to see it." Filo said as she made a pouty face. 

"I'm sure we all wished we could've seen it. But even so, that's in the past now. Ayuma kept the mission alive, and now, it's our turn. We've gotta keep winning, otherwise, we'll have failed Melromarc. Krystal, you're in the next battle. I'd suggest you go and prepare yourself." Alex instructed me as I gave him a nod. 

"I'll win one for us too, Ayuma. I'll follow in your example. You can count on me, everyone!" I said to them all as I waved them off and left the room to head to my entrance gate. 

"Okay, everyone! After a short break, it's time to resume our battles! I don't know exactly how we're going to top that last crazy one between Ayuma and Kirishima, but you never know! We've seen plenty of surprises already, and i'm sure more are on their way! Now, let's move on to match 3!" Wrath Queen announced as the crowd roared with anticipation. 

"I'm with ya, Queen! Now, let's introduce our next two fighters!" Present Mic shouted as the crowd responded with a massive "YES!!!"

"Next up, he's the silent samurai of the night! A strong contender each year in the sports festival, could this be his year? Let's find out! From class 3-A, the bird boy with his pitch black shadow, it's Fumikage Tokoyami!" Mic announced as I watched Tokoyami walk into the arena. He was my height, with the average body of a muscular teenager, but the only strange thing was his head. He had the heed of a bird. It was black in colour with a yellow beak, and he had red eyes. It reminded me of a crow. 

"And his opponent! She dazzled everyone in her opening match, and she's aiming to do it once again! The one who wields the light quirk, the exchange student all the way from Italy! It's Krystal" Wrath Queen introduced as I walked into the arena. I waved to the crowd with joy as they did the same for me. It's not every day you get to do something like this so it's best to have fun with it. 

"It's a true battle of light vs dark right here, people! Who do you think is gonna come out on top!? Let-" Mic tried to say but Wrath Queen interrupted him. 

"3.... 2..... 1...... BEGIN!!!!" She shouted. 

"Hey! That's my line!" Mic said to her. 

"Oh come on! I want to do it a couple of times too, you attention hog!" Wrath Queen said to him as me and Tokoyami began to run at each other. 

"Dark Shadow, appear!" Tokoyami yelled as, from his chest, a black bird-like monster came flying at me. 

"A quirk that lets him manifest a monster..... and it's got power, too. I saw it easily best his first two opponents, which means it won't be easy for me to overpower it! But even so...." I thought to myself as I formed a 4 foot rod made of light in my right hand. 

"I will not be bested by my exact opposite!" I shouted as I swung my rod at the shadow monster. It reached out with one of its claws and quickly grabbed onto the rod. But, the moment it grasped it, a sizzling sound could be heard. It was coming from the monsters claws. 

"Aaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!" The monster shrieked as it let go of the rod. 

"So, light must be its weakness. Which means i'm Tokoyami's natural enemy! He can't beat me if that's the case!" I shouted as I swung at the monster again. I hit it hard with the rod and it retracted itself back over to Tokoyami. 

"You're indeed correct that light is my weakness. Light is the only thing that can cause harm to Dark Shadow. But, I've had plenty of time to train against different light based enemies, and you won't be any exception. Prepare to taste defeat." Tokoyami said to me as he sent Dark Shadow flying at me once again. 

"As source of thy power, I order thee! Decipher the laws of nature and bombard my target with a bright and shining light! Glimmering Flash Pellets!" I shouted as I used my magic to form 4 floating balls of light that hovered around me. I sent them all flying at Dark Shadow and I hit it with all four of them. Dark Shadow wailed in pain but it kept on coming. It was tougher than I thought it was, despite me wielding its weakness. Tokoyami wasn't lying about training to fight against light users.

"Face the unrelenting fury of my Dark Shadow! Pitch Black Claws!" Tokoyami ordered Dark Shadow at it extended its claws out to me. I wasn't expecting it to be able to do that so it caught me off guard. Before I could even react, Dark Shadow grabbed both of my arms and began to push me back to the edge of the arena.

"I will not let you beat me so easily! Twinkling Blink Flash!" I shouted as I shut my eyes and then opened them wide. I used my magic to project a massive flash of light through them which hurt Dark Shadow, making it let go of me just long enough for me to attack. 

"Glimmering Flash Pellets!" I shouted as I fired four more balls of light. Tokoyami retracted Dark Shadow back to his side and then dodged the balls with ease. 

"It seems you're skilled in all aspects of combat, from short to long. But even so, you will taste the sting of defeat!" Tokoyami shouted as he came running at me with Dark Shadow also ready to strike. I began to run at him too and, in both of my hands, I made another light rod and a circular shield.

"Then come at me! Show me what you can do!" I shouted as I clashed with Dark Shadow. It grabbed onto my shield and rod and the light began burning it. But, Tokoyami seemed to have planned this. Since I was busy facing Dark Shadow, he was easily able to approach me. 

"It's much harder when you have to face two opponents at the same time!" He yelled as he performed a roundhouse kick and struck me on the left side of my face. He made me stumble and I dropped my rod. Dark Shadow then capitalized and began to push me back again, using both of its claws to push against my shield.

"Don't think i'm restricted to making simple weapons out of my light!" I shouted as I poured more mana into my shield. Spikes grew out of the face of the shield and impaled Dark Shadow's claws, making it let go and scream in pain. 

"I wouldn't expect anything less from someone like you." Tokoyami said to me as I took a throwing position with my shield in hand. I poured even more mana into it and light razor blades appeared around the edge of my shield. I tossed it with all my might right for Tokoyami and Dark Shadow. Tokoyami brought Dark Shadow back inside himself and then jumped out of the way before he could be hit. 

"You have excellent control of your quirk. And, it's incredibly versatile. I wouldn't be surprised if you could contend with some of the top heroes today." Tokoyami said as I formed a new weapon in my right hand. Nunchucks. 

"Thanks for the comments, but they're not gonna distract me in the slightest. I'm here to win and that's exactly what i'm gonna do. You won't stop me. Your big three won't stop me. Hell, not even Cry's gonna stop me." I told him while twirling one half of my nunchucks.

"We shall see. I've yet to use the full extent of my quirk though. And, I believe now is the time to show you what i'm really made of. Dark Shadow, it's time." Tokoyami said as Dark Shadow appeared from his chest again. 

"Ultimate Technique: Abyssal Black Body!" Tokoyami roared as Dark Shadow enveloped his entire upper body, giving Tokoyami his own set of claws and essentially a layer of armor over his body. 

"Finally going all out, eh? Let's see what you can do, then." I said as he began charging me. 

"Piercing Twilight Claws!" Tokoyami shouted as he reached out with both of his claws. He extended them out just like Dark Shadow does which caught me off guard again. 

"Holy!" I said as I swung my nunchucks at him. His claws and my weapon collided and we blew each other away a few feet. But, we both remained standing. 

"Blinding Light Whip!" I shouted as my nunchuks changed to a whip. I swung it at Tokoyami and it wrapped around his left claw. I pulled on it hard and he fell over onto his chest. I kept on pulling fast until he was right up on me. 

"Lightspeed Kick!" I shouted as I created light around my right foot. I raised up my leg and brought it down on him. But, he blocked the attack by crossing both of his arms in front of him. However, the light on my foot was burning away the part of Dark Shadow that was covering Tokoyami's arms. This means that, with enough light, I can get rid of Dark Shadow and force him to retreat back into Tokoyami, then he'll be wide open. 

"Get off of me!" Tokoyami shouted as he raised up his left leg and struck me in my left arm. He nearly made me fall over but I was able to stay on my feet. But, he did make me walk off of him, allowing him to stand back up. 

"I know how to beat you now, Tokoyami. This fight's over. I'd say "give up now," but I know that's the last thing on your mind, isn't it?" I said to him as I brought both of my hands together and moved them to my right side. 

"Indeed. A hero must never give up, no matter what the situation may be. I'm not down yet, so this fight's far from over." Tokoyami said as he started running at me. 

"Oh, we'll see about that!" I shouted as I started pooling mana into both of hands. 

"If that's what you believe, then i'll end you with this next attack!" Tokoyami shouted as I thrusted both of hands forward. 

"As source of thy power, I order thee! Decipher the laws of nature and obliterate my target with a light that burns all shadows! Sparkling Heaven Star!" I roared as, from both of my hands, I fired an enormous beam of light that struck Tokoyami. He reached out both of his claws to block the attack but it was so strong that it quickly began to push him back. 

"It's...... It's too much!" He shouted as Dark Shadow retreated back into his body. Tokoyami was engulfed by my attack as I kept it up for a few more seconds. When I felt I was done, I stopped and waited for the dust to clear. 

"Now that's what I call an attack! Krystal displays what might be her most powerful move against Tokoyami who looked like he was struggling to hold on! But, was it effective in beating him!?" Mic announced as the dust was blown away. Coming into view was Tokoyami was laid on the ground, not moving one bit. His eyes were a blank white now, which meant this fight was indeed over. 

"Tokoyami has been knocked out! That means Krystal is the winner! She advances to the quarter finals!" The official shouted as the crowd began to cheer for me. They chanted my name and it honestly felt so nice to hear it. 

"Effective is an understatement, Mic! Krystal annihilates Tokoyami in a display of power! She's made a clear statement that she's a force to be reckoned with! No matter who she faces in the quarter finals, they'd batter watch out or they'll be facing the light!" Wrath Queen said. 

"We'll need a paramedic to take Tokoyami to the infirmary! But please, give both of these combatants a round of applause for putting on such an amazing show for us all!" Mic announced as the crowd began to clap for us. A paramedic arrived and took Tokoyami away while I left the arena. I kept us alive, just like I said I would. But now, it was Filo's turn. And she was going to have a much harder time that both me and Ayuma. She was facing one of U.A's big three. The one named Midoriya. 

-POV: Filo-

"And the winner is Krystal! She advances to the quarter finals!" I heard Wrath Queen shout as everyone cheered in excitement.

"Yes! That makes two now. If me and Filo can win our next matches, than that'll mean we'll take up half of the remaining combatants in the quarter finals." Alex said as everyone agreed with him. 

"Filo, your fight is next, right?" Bow guy asked me as I gave him a nod. 

"Yep! That's right! I'm fighting some guy named Midoriya! I don't know who he is but he's going down!" I cheerfully said as I raised my fists into the air. 

Well then I suggest you go and get ready at your entrance gate. Your fight will start soon. Good luck, Filo." Alex said to me as I gave him a smile and a nod. I skipped over to the doorway and left the infirmary, going down the hallway to find my gate. 

About 10 minutes later, I was...... well..... still looking for my gate. 

"That's weird. I thought it was this way. Or was it....... this way?" I tried to figure out as I was walking past several hallways.

"Oh man, I can't remember! I'm lost and i'm going to be late! No!" I cried as I scratched my head in confusion. 

"Hey, uh, are you okay?" I heard someone ask me as I turned around to look at them. It was a boy, taller than me with dark curly green hair and green eyes. 

"Hey, you're Filo, right?" The boy asked me as I gave him a nod. 

"Are you lost?" He asked as I gave him another nod. 

"I can't find the gate i'm supposed to wait at for my next fight." I told him as he chuckled a bit. 

"Here, I'll help you out. We're not too far from one of the gates, actually." He told me as he walked over and took my right hand. We started walking down the hallway and down a few flights of stairs before finally coming to one of the gates. 

"This gate is actually mine but i'm sure they won't mind if we both come out of it, right?" The boy said to me as a bit of shock came over me. 

"Wait, this is your gate? Then, does that mean....?" I began to ask as the boy gave me a nod. 

"Yep. I'm your opponent in this next fight. My name's Izuku Midoriya. It's nice to meet you, Filo. I hope you give it everything you've got in the fight. Let's show everyone a battle they'll never forget!" He said to me as he reached out his right hand to me.

"Yeah, you bet, Midoriya!" I cheered with him as we shook hands. 

"All right, everyone! After a short break, let's move on to match 4 of the round of 16! Whether they win or lose, these exchange students are sure putting on an incredible show, aren't they, Queen?" Present Mic announced. 

"That's right, and we've got yet another one in our next fight! So, let's bring out our next combatants! First up, he's one of U.A's big three! The cyan blur who dashes around the battlefield, going by the hero name "Deku," from class 3-A, it's Izuku Midoriya!" Wrath Queen shouted as the crowd cheered for him. Midoriya took my hand again and we both started to walk into the arena. 

"And his opponent! Coming all the way from Germany, she's small but comes packed with HUGE power! The little angel who's here to blow past the competition, it's Filo!!!" Mic introduced as me and Midoriya walked through our gate, waving to the crowd. 

"What's this!? It looks like both fighters came out of the same gate together! And look, they're holding hands! I don't know if I should call it good sportsmanship or just plain old adorable!" Wrath Queen said.

"These two dazzled everyone in their opening fights with displays of monstrous speed! Their opponents were barely even able to land a single hit on them, but I think that's all about to change very soon. Everyone watch closely, because this fight could be over in the blink of an eye!" Mic explained as me and Midoriya took our positions on the battlefield.

"Looks like they're ready to go down there, so let's get things started! 3.... 2..... 1..... BEGIN!!!!" Wrath Queen roared as the starting buzzer went off. I immediately transformed into my Filolial form and began to rush Midoriya. 

"Full Cowling: 20%!" Midoirya shouted as his whole body began to glow with an intense cyan coloured outline with a few small bolts of lightning going around his body. He came running at me too but at twice the speed I was moving at. It was so fast that I had almost no time to react. He readied his right arm by reeling it back and I went to counter by guarding my chest area with my wings. Midoirya struck me with a monster punch that sent me sliding backwards on my talons. But, I was able to stay standing and remain inside the boundaries. 

"They were right when they said you were fast too. But, i'm faster. And, if I can hit harder too, then i'll be taking the win!" Midoirya shouted as he came running at me again. 

"If you think that's all the speed I've got then you're wrong! I'll show you just how fast I am! High Quick!" I shouted as I pooled mana all throughout my body and took off. My speed had quadrupled and this time, I was the blur making a dash for Midoriya. I came right up to him before he could even react at all and I swung one of my talons at him. I slammed it into his chest and sent him flying over to the edge of the battlefield. But he stayed within the boundaries when he landed. It took him a few seconds to get back up to his feet, but he was able to and gave me a smile when he did. 

"That's some quirk you've got there, Filo. I never would've imagined turning into a giant bird could give someone such a speed and power boost. It really is amazing!" Midoriya said to me as he clenched his fists tightly. 

"Thanks! Master says some of those things to me too!" I told him. 

"I'm sure this master of yours is watching you right now, isn't he?" Midoriya asked me. 

"No, he's away in some other place at the moment, so he can't watch me. But, i'll make him proud by winning this fight! High Tornado!" I shouted as I thrusted both of my wings forward and shot a miniature tornado at Midoriya.

"So you use wind too, just like that Clair girl and Itsuki. Let's see what happens when both of our collide! Full Cowling: 40%!" Midoriya shouted as he began to glow an even more intense shade of cyan now. He threw a punch forward and, from the force of it, he unleashed a high pressure wind blast that struck my tornado. They ripped each other apart until nothing was left. Our attacks were evenly matched. 

"High Wind Slash!" I shouted as I waved my wings across my body and fired off two fast waves of wind. 

"Like Kirishima, i'll just bulldoze my way through to you!" Midoriya shouted as he began to charge my attack. He leaped into the air and propelled himself forward using the strength in his arms in legs. 

"New York Smash!" Midoriya roared as he performed a powerful drop kick against my wind slashes. He easily broke through them and still kept coming towards me. He struck me with both of his legs and he drove me backwards to the edge of the battlefield. The edge was nearing fast and I had to come up with a way to get out of this before he pushed me out. I transformed into my much smaller human form and Midoriya kept on flying above my head and closer to the boundary line. 

"Delaware Smash!" I heard Midoriya shout as he bent one of his fingers back and flicked it forward. He created another wind blast that stopped his momentum and allowed him to stay on the battlefield. 

Now that was a close call! Midoriya narrowly avoids knocking himself out of the competition! But now, he's left himself open to an attack by Filo! How can he recover!?" Mic announced as I made my move on him.

"Zweit Tornado!" I shouted as I raised my hands up in front of me and launched a more condensed tornado at point blank range. I struck Midoriya and the power of my tornado was quickly pushing him back to the edge. 

"I'm not gonna lose here! I will be the next greatest hero! Detroit Smash!" Midoriya roared as he drove his right fist into the ground until his entire forearm was lodged inside. Sticking his arm in the battlefield stopped him from being pushed so I stopped my attack and walked back a bit to prepare for his next move. He dislodged his arm and grasped it a bit before taking a ready position.

"For someone who looks like a child, you sure are pretty smart, Filo! I'm glad I got the chance to face you today!" Midoriya said to me. 

"Thanks, Midoriya! You're not half bad too! But still, i'm not going to lose!" I said to him as his body began to glow even more intensely than before. 

"Full Cowling: 50%!" Midoriya shouted as I could now feel the energy coming from his body. It was monstrous. 

"This is my maximum output that i'm capable of to this day. Time to find out if you can handle me now! Delaware Smash!" Midoriya shouted as he flicked another one of his fingers and sent a blast of wind straight for me. 

"Zweit Tornado!" I shouted as I fired another tornado to meet his attack. But, that increase in his power was more drastic than I thought. His attack blew right through mine and struck me, sending me careening across the battlefield. I extended my wings and out and used my momentum to correct my flight and go upward, keeping me inside the boundaries. 

"Here I come!" Midoriya shouted as he leaped high off the ground, heading straight for me. 

"I won't lose to you!" I shouted as I started to descend towards him.

"High Quick!" I shouted as my speed increased drastically. We were both moving towards each other like bullets and, when we neared one another, we went in for our strikes. 

"High Wind Slash!" I shouted as I waved my hands across my body and sent two waves of wind at Midoriya. But, he kicked the air below him and soared right over my attacks and right above me. 

"Washington Smash!" He roared as he flipped his body forward and struck the back of my head with the heel of his right foot. His axe kick send me hurdling down to the ground. I crashed and the impact cratered the entire battlefield. I was still conscious somehow, but my body felt like a big bruise now. It was hard to move at all. Midoriya landed about 20 feet away from me and stood in place to see if I could continue or not. 

"Is that it!? Did Midoriya deliver the final blow!? Can Filo get back up and continue this epic fight!?" Wrath Queen anounced as I struggled to move. I moved my arms underneath my chest and, shakingly, I began to lift myself up. It took nearly a minute but I got up to my knees, and, after another minute, I stood up on my feet. 

"I'm not done. I'll never quit. My master is counting on me to succeed here, so I can't afford to lose! I have to win to save everyone! So that we can work together and save my home!" I shouted as I clenched my fists and began pooling mana into a single point on my right hand. 

"I don't know what you mean by that, Filo, but i'll acknowledge your strength! You're tougher than anyone else I've faced before! And, as such, i'll give you everything I've got right here and now!" Midoriya shouted as he began to charge me. His body stopped glowing except for his left arm. It was glowing so brightly now, and the energy he was producing was so strong. This was his final attack. 

"If he's giving it his all...... then i'll just have to go beyond your power!" I roared as I channeled all of my mana into my right hand. Like before, when I fought Fitoria, my entire hand transformed into three long sharp glowing claws that radiated with energy. I charged Midoriya as well and we both reeled back our arms to strike one another. 

"Holy crap! The power these two are putting out is insane! Everyone, hold onto your seats! This may get rough!" Mic shouted as the crowd went silent before we made impact. 

"I'LL BEAT YOU! I'LL WIN AND MAKE MY MASTER PROUD!!! SPIRAL STRIKE!!!!! DETROIT SMASH!!!!!!" Both me and Midoriya shouted simultaneously as we collided our attacks into one another. The shock wave was immense that a wind storm was being created, threatening to blow everyone in the stadium away. At first, we both seemed evenly matched in strength, but that thought quickly dashed. As we both gave one last push, Midoriya channeled even more power into his attack and, all at once, he shattered my magic claws to pieces and drove his fist into my face. He forced it downward and smashed my head into the concrete floor of the battlefield. And explosion of wind ensued when he struck me, displaying the might of his attack.

"UNBELIEVABLE!! Midoriya breaks right through Filo's assault and has struck her down! Will she be able to get back up after this one!?" Mic questioned as I laid in a smoking crater of rubble. I could feel I had a black eye on my left side, and it felt like I had broken a few bones too. I couldn't move anymore, no matter how much I tried. I used too much of my energy and exhausted myself. An official came onto the battlefield to inspect me and see if I could go on. 

"I have to..... keep going..... for Master Naofumi...... I need to..... for everyone's sake..... I can't...... lose......" I cried but no matter what I did, I still couldn't move. 

"Filo is unable to continue! The winner is Midoriya! He advances to the quarter finals and will face Krystal in the second match!" The official called as the crowd began to cheer in awe and excitement from that amazing fight. Meanwhile, I began to cry at my loss. I just failed everyone, after all. And not just everyone I came to this world with, but everyone back in Melromarc and the other worlds too. Our chances of succeeding here just got drastically smaller because of me. I couldn't help but cry over it all. 

"Hey..... That was incredible....... Our fight...... Let's do it again, sometime." I heard Midoriya say as he walked over and stood next to me. His left arm was broken. He used so much power that he hurt himself. If I had won that struggle at the end, then he would've been through. I was so close.

"Thanks....... You were amazing....... Midoriya...... another fight....... that would be nice.......!" I said as I cried some more. Midoriya chuckled away as he crouched down next to me and helped to sit me up. He took my right hand with his own and he raised it up into the air. 

"There's that showing of good sportsmanship from U.A's Midoriya! Whether he wins or loses, he's always got a smile on his face and so do his opponents!" Wrath Queen said as I felt moved by Midoriya's actions. He still cared so much about his opponent, even though I helped break his arm. I couldn't help but smile too. We both began laughing and Midoriya picked me up with his good arm and carried me off the battlefield. He took us both to the infirmary where almost everyone from my team was waiting.

"Oh Filo...... we're sorry you didn't win." Krystal said to me but I just laughed it off. 

"That's alright. I had lots of fun out there fighting, so you don't have to feel bad for me." I told her. 

"Yeah, Filo here nearly beat me in that final exchange. I could feel her power pushing me back and, if I hadn't overcharged my quirk, she probably would've beaten me." Midoriya explained as he walked me over to a bed and laid me down in it. 

"It was that close, huh? Now I wish I could've seen it. But regardless, it's over now. And that means you're facing me next, buddy." Krystal said to Midoriya. 

"I'm looking forward to it. I watched you face Tokoyami. Not just anyone can take him down so easily. But, as one of U.A's big three, i'm not letting you take me down like you did him." He replied to her as he sat down on the edge of my bed.

Midoriya went on to talk to everyone else from my team except for Alex who wasn't here at the moment. He was probably going to his gate to prepare for his next fight. Ayuma had fallen asleep as well, probably from her exhaustion. And, bow guy was up and moving again too. He looked totally fine now. He wasn't talking to Midoriya either, and instead came over to the other side of my bed and crouched down next to my head.

"Hey, Filo, once you get all healed up, do you wanna help me out with something?" He whispered into my ear as I gave him  a curious nod. 

"What are we gonna do?" I asked him. 

"I'll tell you later. For now, just get some rest. You did a fine job out there." Bow guy said to me as he shook my hair.
