Day 12: It's Over?

What happened on day 11:

I panted for breath as we all sat on the land of the cornercopia. I kept turning my head over my shoulders always checking the surroundings. A breeze went through the whole cornercopia. I opened my bag to get some water. I grab the bottle and drank some of the remaining water left. Soon there was no drops of water left in the bottle. I shooked and pounded on the bottle trying to get more water.

A blasted sound of a cannon went off startling all the birds. Dove threw her spear into the sand which got all of our attention.

"We are going to need to split up. It's for the best. I'm not looking forward to killing you guys." Dove said in a hushed voice.

I noticed Ace not looking at anyone. Instead he was focused on the ground. We all did not say a word but we agreed. I opened up my bag and stuffed the bottle deep inside of the bag. Without saying a word we all stood up and shook each other's hand saying a silent thank you. A thank you for keeping me alive. To be honest I did not even think I would last this far into the games. Day 10, my goal was to at least to get to day 2, but here I am at day 10. Everyday is a day I could die in.

"We have an announcement:   Some of you may be declining my invitation. But this is no ordinary feast. Each of you need something desperately. Each of you will find that something in a marked with your district number. Think hard about refusing to show up. For some of you, this will be your last chance." Claudius Templesmith boomed over the whole arena.

We were just about to go when we heard this. All of this looked surprised. Guess they are finally bringing out the feast. Which means the girl from 10, and the careers will be coming to the Cornercopia. Without thinking all of us ran in different directions and ducked behind bushes and trees. I laid close to the ground staring at the cornercopia. I could see the feast laid out on the ground all around the tree in the middle.

After a few minutes I could hear the sounds of feet moving through the bushes. I held my breath trying to not make a sound. What would be in the bag for 6? Only one from 6 is getting it. I took a minute trying to make out the numbers on the bags. 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 I read in my head. I grabbed some knives out of my bag and held them close to my head. The sun started to set and I tried to see who else was crawling through the bushes.

"Look!" I heard someone yell.

Next thing I saw a arrow shoot through the air and cut through the leaves in the tree in the middle. Is someone in the tree? Another arrow was launched. The arrow came from the right of me. That must be the Carriers. They must be shooting at Ryleigh. Another arrow was shot. Right after it was the sound of a small but loud squeal. Did they shoot her?

"Do it again." I heard a familiar boys voice said.

Another arrow shot into the air. Then all I saw was a young girl's body hit the ground. From here I could see the bright blood trickle from her mouth and the arrows in her leg and chest. A cannon went off startling the birds once again. This time all of the birds flew up making a dome around the arena.

"That's strange." I said whispered to myself.

Another arrow shot up into the sky hitting and killing one of the birds in the dome. That was a dumb move. All of the birds started to squawk and dive down to the archer. The sounds of screams filled up the whole place.

"Run!" I voice hollered.

I could only imagine what the birds are doing to that archer. Then another cannon went off. I held my breath as I watched the Careers run out of the bushes and into the middle of the cornercopia. Oliver was there, Adriana and Jay was there to. I guess Ruby died.

"They should be here!" Adriana said.

"But they are not." Jay said in a calmer voice.

There was something in his hands. I recognized it, it looks like darts.

"We'll just wait for them then." Oliver said as he sat on a rock and used his sword to support him.

From the looks of it they probably wiped out many of the tributes. There was scratches all over there bodies and blood on there foreheads. Adriana had a lip cut right open and Oliver's right arm looks really wounded. Jay has cuts all over his body. What did they go through to live?

Soon it became dark. Jay was on watch and Adriana and Oliver was asleep. This is my chance, I will be able to kill them while they sleep. But that's more easier said than done. I started to crawl on the ground trying to find a good angle. I picked up one of the knives and aimed at Jay. I was ready to throw the knife when I stopped. Something kept stopping me from killing. The feeling terrified me. Soon it terrified me so much that I actually threw the knife. I covered my eyes just before the knife hit Jay. All I heard was the sound of flesh being cut open and the thump of the body hitting the ground. One last cannon went off before they showed the dead tributes.

Day 12:

The sun started to rise. I was still surprised the cannon did not wake them up. My heart pounded. I just killed someone. Jay probably could've gone home and live in lux but I just stripped that away from him. With blood on my hands I'll never be able to look at my mom again. My heart pounded as I looked over at Oliver and Adriana sleeping still. I did not have enough courage to kill them. I couldn't cry, even though I felt like it, I couldn't breath right, even though I tried. Is this what it's like to kill? I hate it, I really hate it! I put my hands on my head and rocked back and forth on my bottom.

"Jay? Jay!" I heard Adriana yell. "Dammit Jay wake up!"

"He's dead." Oliver said. He crouched down to examine the wound. He pulled out the throwing knife from his neck and looked at the knife for awhile. "Whoever did this has exceptional aim." Right after he said that he smiled. He knows it was me.

"You know who did it, don't you." Adriana galred.

Oliver nodded in a reply. "And they are here as we speak." He smiled after that sentence. "Bailey! Come out wherever you are!" He extended the words making it sound creepier.

I held my breath trying to make no sound. I watched Oliver scan all over the arena trying to spot me out. I laid close to the ground trying to blend into the ground. My breathing became slower and heavier. Maybe I could kill him now? Or distract him. But if I miss the shot he will know where I am. My lips quivered in fear as I heard his footsteps slowly getting closer to me.

Soon enough I saw his feet right in front of me under this bush. I held my breath and grabbed another throwing knife and waited till he was close to me. He moved one more step. This is my chance. If he moved any more he could probably see me.

"Adriana while I take care of this little fly why not you check the bags?" He smiled.

This is my chance, I grabbed my knife and swiftly stabbed his foot. I heard him scream in pain. I smile painted onto my lips as I quickly pulled out the knife from his foot and stabbed the other one. With this much pain in his feet he won't be able to move as fast. He fell on the ground yelling and cursing my name. Next thing I saw was a spear fly out of the bushes and stabbing Oliver right in the chest. A cannon went off and my heart dropped. That's the work of Dove. Adriana stopped looting the bags and turned around and saw Oliver's corpse.  Swiftly she grabbed her bow and shot in the direction the spear came from. No sound was made. Then I heard a small scream and the arrow came flying back hitting Adriana's arm. Adriana dropped her bow and squealed in pain.

I should move from this spot. I grabbed my knives and crawled to a rock for shelter. I moved my leg and the little skin I had touched a plant. The little touch startled me and I quickly looked over my shoulder to see the plant that touched me. I recognized it, Poison Ivy. Shit. What I learned the effects won't appear yet. It will start taking effect in 4 hours or so. I got time. I watched Adriana grab the knife that Oliver was holding and used it as protection. Since she trained to be a career she probably knows how to use lot's of weapons, Throwing knives are a basic.

I watched her throw the knife in that same direction. Shortly after a Cannon went off. No.. No.. That's Dove. She can't die. I blinked back tears. She can't have died.. No. It's impossible. I felt a strong hot feeling building up inside of me. It was like fear but it was stronger, Rage. I clutched on my throwing knife and stood up ready to kill her. As much I hated the feeling I needed revenge. It was a craving. Just before I was about to throw the knife another Spear shot through the other side of the cornercopia. Ace. Just before the spear hit Adriana saw the spear coming and threw the knife in the direction of the spear. Two Cannons went off. My eyes widen and shivers went up my spine.  Adriana, Dove and Ace.. Are dead. Can't be.. Tears swell in my eyes. I'm so close to losing my emotions. Soon I saw John walk out of the bushes and stared at me.

Johan stared at me without saying a word. This is the final. By this time tears were starting to stream down my face. I grabbed my knife and pointed it close to my heart. I'm ready to die. I don't deserve to win. I don't want to win to be honest. I never thought I'll be going into these games. Thought it will be far from possibilities. Just one pull and it will be over. It will be over. I Started to pull in and close my eyes-

"Stop." I heard a weak voice say. A dying voice.

I stopped and saw Johan, and Oliver's sword was stabbed into his chest. I dropped my knife and cover my  mouth. Tears gushed down my face.

"STOP! I DON'T DESERVE IT!" I cried. "STOP STOP IT!"

Johan fell onto the ground breathless. I stood in shock and fell to the ground. In relief? In Shock? Soon enough I remembered I will still on live TV. I wiped the tears and made myself look more presentable.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to present the victor of the 48th Hunger Games, Bailey Weiss! I give you the tribute of District 6!" I heard Claudius announced.

I got up and raised my throwing knife in the air and tears streamed down my face once again while the Hovercraft made it's way done. I won? No. Impossible. I DO NOT DESERVE IT!

"Congratulations tribute!" A lady said while walking out of the hovercraft and helped me up.

She also helped me up on the hovercraft. I sat by a window and slowly the arena, the prison, the death go away.
