#4 Winters Perspective

Back in their cell, Winter woke up from her faint a few minutes after Arianna left. Groaning, she sat up and tried to remember why she had fainted. When she remembered that they had forcibly taken Arianna, she screamed and ran towards the door, banging on it with all her might. Had it not been iron, if she had endurance, rougher hands, and a touch of luck, she would have continued banging for more than 10 seconds. As it was, she stopped, and threw herself on her bed instead. Still thinking irrationally, and still upset at the guards for taking her sister, Winter took their glass of water and threw it as hard as she could at the door. It shattered, not surprisingly, and shards came back and cut her twice in the arm and once on her cheek. "Ow!" She yelped, wishing she was smarter sometimes. "I couldn't have thought to throw it at the glass window or anything." She looked at their window hopefully, but the glass was thick, and the window was bared. There was no way escape was that way.

Sighing, she tried to think of something to pass the time. Suddenly, she felt déjà vu again. Groaning, she tried to shut it out, but this time it persisted, so instead of shutting it out, she welcomed it, and decided to concentrate on it this time.

She was in a prison just like this one, and she was also bored in this dream/memory. But in here, she was creative, and she decided to count the tones that made up the room and see if there were any unique designs on them.

So, present day Winter did that too; she started counting the stones that made up their cell. After 78 she was done. She fell onto her bed to rest; one cant blame her for being tired, for she and her sister hadn't eaten in almost 8 hours. At least, anything substantial. She also had nothing to do to pass the time. Except sleep. So Winter went to sleep, dreaming of a perfect world where people didn't get kidnapped and all dresses were pale green.

"So," Arianna gasped, hands on knees to catch her breath. "You do have a key right?' The mystery man nodded, and pulled out a key from an inner pocket. 'Wow, he is not even tired. He must run a lot then.' Arianna thought to herself as she straightened up, pretending to have caught her breath, while she was actually just quietly gasping under her breath. The man noticed this and a frown creased his handsome features. "Arianna, please, don't try to impress me; take a moment and rest. You're going to need it as soon as we get Winter." Arianna felt the heat creep up into her cheeks with his words. "I am not trying to impress you! I just... got my breath back quick, that's all. Pfft. Why would I try to impress you? I'm a princess, not a pauper." She watched him closely as he put the key in for any sign of surprise. To her surprise, he just shook his head and smiled, almost a sad smile. Suspicious question marks started rolling through her mind. She still didn't know who this guy was, or why he was doing this for them.

With that last word she remembered Winter and pushed past mystery man to get in their cell. "Winter!" she cried when she didn't see her. "Win –"she started to scream when the strong hands wrapped around her mouth, blocking off all noise. She was going to try to pull them off, when he generously took one off and pointed to a bed. Stopping her struggles, she studied the bed and saw Winter sleeping in there. "Phew," she murmured when the hands left her mouth. She moved over to her adopted sisters bed and sat on it gently. She was going to just shake her to wake her, but she remembered how they would wake each other up in the castle. Smiling, she started to sing in her sweet angelic voice. "Winter, Winter, dawn has finally arrived. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, wont you please open your eyes? Please open your eyes." Arianna giggled as her sister responded to her 'alarm' and sat up yawning. "It never fails. Happy, uh, Wake Up Time or whatever sis. Try to wake up quick though because we have to get going soon." Arianna looked over to the man in the corner with his mouth slightly agape and giggled again. When he realized she was looking at him, he shut his mouth and looked away, the red creeping up his cheeks now. She laughed. He glared at her, then cleared his throat to get their attention. "Uh, very sorry to disrupt this reunion sort of thing, but we do have an entire prison of guards looking for us and only 3 exits, so whenever you're ready, so am I, hee hee."

Winter gasped. "Wait, what? 'Big muscles' over there is breaking us out? Whoohoo! Why didn't you say so earlier! Ya- Wait; where my mirror? Where's my mirror!?" Arianna went to stand by 'big muscles' while Winter searched frantically for her mirror. "Aha! Here you are you silly, don't hide from me again, you had me scared!" The man looked at Arianna with laughter in his eyes. 'You scared me?' He grinned, and a lock of hair fell into his eyes. He frowned and pushed it up, then grinned at Arianna again. "She's adopted." Arianna spat out, punching him. "Ow," he faked, like it had really hurt him. They watched Winter fuss with her blue tinged platinum blonde hair, trying to get it into a bun. "There!" she said when it all stayed on her head.

"Ok," said the man. "Follow me, but if I tell you to stop, run, close your eyes, or anything else, you are to do so immediately with no questions. Understand?" The sisters looked at each other, then Winter said, "Yeah, ok, but why would we ever have to close our eyes? That doesn't really make sense." Arianna nodded her agreement and folded her arms over her chest patiently. 'Mighty muscles' sighed, and without saying anything, he put his hand on the handle of his sword, jus now being noticed by the girls. They gasped and looked at him in horror. "No," Arianna said when she got over her fright. "I won't have us fighting like lowlifes. We are princesses; the only thing we are taught at the castle is knitting, sewing, and diplomacy. I don't know who you are or –"the man cut her off. "Ok, if you really want to know who I am, I will tell you, but is this doesn't work, you must promise not to tell anyone my identity, ok? They'll have my head for sure." "Ok, fine, whatever just tell us who you are!" Winter replied, practically jumping up and down with excitement. Arianna just stared at him with a 'get on with it' look he didn't favor. Taking a deep breath, he spilled it all out, the quick version. "Well, my name is Prince Jasper, and your father sent me to find you......"
