Chapter 16
--Girl's POV--
I slowly walked over to the couch to watch tv. I decided I'd watch the news. But I wasn't hoping it'd be good, since nothing on the news seemed to interest me. It was always about those stupid politics.
I grabbed the remote and turned on the tv, then turned it to the news channel. I then gasped with shock as I saw a large Indoraptor in a cage.
A man was there, holding a microphone. He was dressed in a fancy suit. The Indoraptor behind him growled and roared, its nostrils flaring in anger. It had blood-red eyes, and long, sharp claws. It was very big, almost too big for the cage, and its talons clicked on the floor.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome. I am Doctor Henry Wu," the man introduced. "And no, this Indoraptor is not the one that escaped. Instead, this Indoraptor is a newly created one. It is the perfected one. I have kept this secret, going under the code name 'Project Perfection'. I never told anyone about this until now," Henry explained. He turned to the Indoraptor, and the camera zoomed in on the large hybrid.
This Indoraptor wasn't black, instead it was white. The long blood-red stripe running down its head all the way to its body matched the color of its eyes.
"This Indoraptor isn't a prototype, instead, it is the full, complete creation. It is as big as the Indominus Rex, our first hybrid. It can camouflage, control its body temperature, has a high range of smell, is very smart, and is very fast. We have trained it well, more well than you think," Henry explained, looking back at the camera. "We haven't used it yet, but now, we must use it to hunt down the escaped Indoraptor, and end these killings." Henry then turned to his side, looking at someone. The camera panned right. It was Owen. "Now, Owen, what do you have to say about this?"
Owen looked pissed. "Kill this thing. Trust me, it will go rogue once you let it out of the cage. If you don't raise it right, it will end up like the first Indoraptor."
"Whatever. This creation is mine," Henry growled. "And he will mate with Blue to make more perfect Indoraptors. Then, we won't have a need for the military!"
Owen clutched his fists. "You're a damn madman! You think turning this thing into your slave will make the world a better place? Well no, it can't! Open your damn eyes for once!" He yelled.
Henry raised his arm and flicked his hand. "Security! Get this fool out of here now," he sighed, putting his hand on his forehead.
I turned off the tv, shaking. Ebony was in trouble. He really was. Whereever he is...
--Ebony's POV--
Days had passed since I'd dreamed about Ripper, who was trying to manipulate me. All I wanted was to get home, not take revenge on the humans that tortured Ripper.
The hot sun was glaring down on my back, heating my thick skin as I trudged through the blaring heat. I couldn't be far from the baby hybrids, could I?
I then felt my stomach rumble in hunger. Shut up, I growled silently, I'll get food when I actually need it. I then saw a lone tree standing to my right. Ahead was the thick patches of trees, along with the shade provided by them. I stood alert as I recognized this forest, the one where I was chased out of by those raptors.
"Feather? Cilo?" I called out, lifting my head. I rushed forward, heading towards the trees. My tail streamed out behind me as I ran forward, my claws stirring up grass. The wind whipped my sides and carried the scent of blood. I ran faster as a new horror crawled up my spine. They're dead!
Panic struck through me. I called out their names again. But I didn't hear a response. I wasn't paying any attention to where I was going and then tripped over something. My fears had been right. To my horror, looking down, I saw the decaying body of a baby Indominus Rex.
Grief choked my throat, and I couldn't speak. And I could do was stare at Fear's corpse and watch as maggots ate him out. I noticed a slash in his throat, and I could see that his red eyes were wide open and dull. I noticed a bite mark on the back of his neck, and parting my jaws to taste the air, I smelled wolf.
I turned around and saw a wolf, who was crouched in the undergrowth, its lips curled back into a snarl, its fangs bared at me.
I snarled at the gray-furred creature, flexing my claws. I could tell it was mad at me. Maybe it was eating the corpse. Anger flared through me like wild fire. I lunged at the creature, but then realized it was turning away. My claws caught it by the shoulder, and they slashed all the way down to the tail, drawing three deep gashes.
The wolf howled in pain and stumbled, blood spilling from the wounds. Its eyes were wide with pain, and scarlet liquid pooled under it.
I was about to clamp my jaws shut around its throat and shake it like prey, but I heard three howls behind me. I turned around and saw three more wolves standing by Fear's decaying body. I roared with anger and stood to my fulll height. But these wolves wouldn't back down.
One wolf lunged forward, its jaws clamping around my leg. I yowled in pain as agony seared in my arm. I leaned forward and sank my teeth into the wolf's back and clamped my jaws tight. I was about to throw the creature when suddenly I felt another wolf lunge for my arm. Then, the last wolf went behind me and clamped on my tail.
I roared with anger and threw the wolf clamped on my leg. The wolf soared through the air and roughly hit the trunk of a nearby tree. A loud cracked echoed, and the wolf twitched once before going limp, its eyes dulling.
I then reached for the wolf on my arm. I raised my other arm and swung down, my talons piercing its eyes. The wolf whined in agony as blood spewed from its eyes, but it still wouldn't let go. I swung my talons at its face again and drew long gashes across its wounded eyes and snout. It finally decided to let go.
I turned around and lunged for the wolf at my tail. My talons struck its shoulder and the wolf immediately let go. But I wouldn't let it go so easily. I lunged for it and clamped my jaws around its and twisted until I heard a nasty snap. I lay the limp creature on the ground, panting. Blood stained my jaws and claws, and blood trickled from the wounds I had received.
I rushed back to Fear's body and dug my snout in his body. "Fear," I mumbled. "I'm sorry, I was too late to save you," I whined, closing my eyes.
Guys, they're hiding the perfected Indoraptor in Area 51 👽
