They're crying...

As I watch one of my closest friends break themselves down into a puddle of guilt, despair, and total sadness, I notice that my body kind of moved on its own.

I immediately move to pull F/N into the biggest hug possible, just letting them cry for a while, saying any and every comforting word that came into my mind, all while apologizing to them. Sometimes, just letting someone cry is all you can do.

I can't even begin to imagine what they're going through.. Just thinking about it killed me inside. Somebody you put all your trust and love into betrays you in an instant or so, and they're nothing you can about it at the time.

It turns out a few seconds feel like a few hours when you're with someone you care about. Just making sure that they're ok and making that your one priority, it changes the time for you.

I turn to look at F/N, who was still sniffling a little bit in my embrace, finally getting a firm grasp of their emotions. It was...strange. I wasn't uncomfortable or anything, but kind of at ease. It felt.. nice? Good even? As I smiled, a rosy glow came to my cheeks, and I ran my finger through their hair a little bit. That action kind of led to them laying there just a tad longer, as if it put them at ease, making the moment itself just a little better.

Suddenly, as if we've been snapped back into reality, we sat up quickly and moved away from each other. I peek towards my side and notice that F/N had a deep red color brushed all across their face. I don't acknowledge it, cause I'm guessing that they're a tad embarrassed at the current situation. If I were them, I absolutely would be too.

In an effort to break the unbearable silence, I spoke up.

"So, um, are you feeling any better??"

They looked at me and chuckled a tad.

"Y-yeah, for sure. I'm so sorry about all of that..,"
"It's no problem, really! You're my best friend, and I'm here for you, don't forget that."

I grinned while playfully punching them in the shoulder, causing them to laugh.
Then they turned and a genuine smile, the most happy I've seen them in a while, beamed across their face.

"Thanks. I really appreciate it."
