READER'S CHOICE BEGINS + CONTEST UPDATE
Hey everyone, Raven here.
I apologize for the delay on releasing the form for this category, though reader's choice officially begins today. After trial and error with the fan vote in the WHO Awards, I've decided a week is a fair voting window, that way you don't have to wait long for results but it's still a long enough time for fans to see the link. This is also because a week from now is Thursday, and I have more free time on Fridays, so I can post the results ASAP if the form closes at the end of day on Thursday.
Voting will end on February 21st, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
The EST is very important. For anyone not from America in these awards, please keep in mind that means you are several hours to a whole day ahead of me, so it may close on February 22nd for you. Please do the time conversions to make sure.
General rules and info to remember:
Vote spam is not allowed. Only one vote per person. You can vote for yourself, though I encourage you to rather vote for another author and take the opportunity to leave nice feedback for them.
Any suspicions of vote spam will result in instant disqualification.
The vote is 100% anonymous through a Google Form. It will only ask for your email to help battle vote spam and ensure one email = one vote, though emails are not collected. No private data will be seen by me.
Do not go around posting on the message boards of people who do not know you or allowing fans to ask non-fans to vote for you. This is the reader's choice, not the stranger's choice. If I catch you promoting on the message board of someone who is not familiar with your work, then you will be disqualified.
You're allowed to post about the vote on other websites, though the same rules apply where anyone posting on random profiles to farm votes will be disqualified. I have like every writing site under the sun, Quotev included, so I will monitor other websites for this as well.
Please just be fair. Remember this was a free entry that didn't count against your other submissions, and you didn't need a book to apply to it. You still have plenty of other chances in this contest, so please remember winning is not everything. Building a community and engaging with other writers is a bigger win than any first place could ever be (unless you're getting a gold medal in the Olympics or smth), so please be respectful and respect the rules.
Contest Update:
This contest is now closed. There were only four slots left, so I closed the entire contest. More categories that are being judged will be announced soon, and the best short film is still in progress. We're still on track to getting two results out before the end of the month.
The next biweekly progress update is February 17th, later in EST. That is this Monday.
