Mariam was looking at her reflection in the mirror. Clad in a pink long night gown. She combed her hair. She huffed and closed her eyes. She placed the comb on the table and turned around. She found Aliza standing there.

Hato humein bhi baal banane hain.

Ali said with a smile. She pushed Mariam aside and came in front of the mirror. She held the comb and was about to comb her hair but Mariam held her hand.

Yeh Kahan ke adaab hain shehzadi Aliza. Kisi ki cheez lene se pehle pooch toh lia kijiye.

Mariam said, her voice was soft yet firm.

Per Mariam, humein ijazat lene ki kya zaroorat jo tumhara hai woh humara bhi toh hai.

Aliza said crossing her arms across her chest.

Mariam left her hand. She took a step towards Aliza and held her by her shoulders. She looked into Aliza,s eyes.

Per ab nahin. Ab sab badal gaya hai Aliza. Ab jo humara hai woh humara hi rahega. Ab humne jo humara hai uske liye ladna seekh lia hai. Har baar hum apni khushiyan dusron ko nahin de sakte.

Mariam said trying to control herself from bursting out on her. She wiped a lone tear that escaped her eye and went from there.

Mariam was feeling really restless. Her heartbeat doubled due to an unknown restlessness. She walked towards the garden taking heavy steps.

Garden

She walked towards the garden with heavy steps and was surprised to find Ali there.

Ali

Mariam called out softly as she tried to hide her restlessness. She walked towards him. He turned around and looked at her.

He gave a small smile to her and averted his gaze.

Ali humari taraf dekhiye.

Mariam said softly. Ali looked at her.

Maaf kar dijiye shehzadi.

Ali said and looked away.

Kyun?

Mariam asked confused.

Mujhe aap se uss tarah baat nahin karni chahiye thi. Mera koi haq nahin banta.

Ali said looking at her with a guilty smile.

Her heart broke seeing him guilty.

Agar aap woh nahin karte toh ab tak hum bukhar mein tap rahe hote aur chehre per dane hi dane hote humare.

Mariam said chuckling.

Mariam held his face in her palms and stroked his cheeks gently with her thumb. Their eyes met. She held his hand in hers and stroked the back of his palm.

Aur humne aapko woh haq dia hai.

Mariam said softly and Ali smiled.

Kya hua Mariam?

Ali asked softly seeing the fear all over her face.

Mariam looked upwards. The whole sky was covered with black clouds. The night looked scary to her. Her heart raced because of fear. She held his upper arm.

Ali yeh raat kitni kaali hai na?

Mariam stopped and took a deep breath.

Kabhi kabhi dar lagta hai ke iss kaali raat ke baad subha ho gi bhi ya nahin.

Mariam said with fear laced eyes. Ali held her hand. She looked at him.

Raat chahe jitni bhi kaali kyun na ho per subha zaroor hoti hai aur dekhna kal ki subha bahot khoobsoorat hogi.

Ali said with a soft smile. Mariam smiled a little. She held his hand.

Kal kisne dekha hai Ali. Aaj issi pal mein ji lete hain na. Kya pata kal ho na ho.

Mariam said. She held his face in her palms. He closed his eyes and leaned into her touch.

Yeh kya ho raha hai mujhe? Mariam ke chute hi kya ho jata hai. Sab bhool jata hoon main. Mariam ke ansu mujhe itni takleef kyun dete hain?

Ali thought

He wiped a lone tear that escaped Mariam,s eye without her knowledge and pulled her in a hug. She hugged him back. Ali rubbed her back with 1 hand and stroked her hair with the other to calm her down. She snuggled more into him and breathed. Shivers ran down his spine. He tightened the hug.
