As Dianna drifted off, she dreamed of her high school prom.  She saw herself in the pink prom gown.  She still had the gown in her closet.  All these years later, she couldn't bear to get rid of it.  She saw Danny in his tuxedo with a pink carnation in his lapel.  She saw the pink carnation hand corsage he bought her.

She had to talk him into taking her to the prom.  They had been dating for four years.   He didn't like to dance but finally agreed to take her to the prom to make her happy.  He was four years older than her and was enrolled at the community college taking courses in criminal justice.  After the prom they were invited to a party.  She told her parents it would be an all night affair and would be home in the morning.  Pictures were taken when Danny showed up.  She felt like a princess when he walked her to the black stretch limo.  When they got to the prom, Danny told the driver to wait.  They walked into the prom, handed in their tickets and said hello to each of Dianna's teachers.

After about 15 minutes, Danny said enough already.  You were at the prom.  Lets blow this joint.  She didn't want to leave so early but he insisted.  It's not like your going to be crowned Queen of the Prom.  They were both laughing as they ran back to the waiting limo and were off to the Blackstone Hotel.     

The night at the Blackstone Hotel was a night she'd always remember.  After eating dinner in the room together, Danny took her in his arms and made love to her.  He told her his dreams of becoming a cop one day and then a detective.  He told her he loved her and wanted to marry her when he became a cop.  He wanted children with her.  She promised him back to always love him and to have his children.

Weeks later, Danny told her he was transferring to an out of state college to get his degree.  Only 2 more years till I graduate and then we can get married he told her.  They kept in touch by phone and emails.

Then Dianna realized she was pregnant with his child.  She planned a trip to his college to surprise him and tell him in person.  One day before she was to leave, she began having cramps and miscarried.  Her parents did their best to comfort her but she couldn't get over her grief.  She couldn't talk to anyone about it especially Danny.  She just couldn't tell him.
