Chapter Two: A Reasonable Choice
My lungs started to burn for the need of air, I struggled beneath the thick ice. Alexander pushed me deeper into the ice, I closed my eyes, heart beating rapidly. This is it, I'm going to die. I would have rather died maybe a few days after the Hunger Games started, not as soon as the games started. So much for victor. I took a deep breath to clam myself. After a few seconds of me just breathing, my eyes shot open. I was breathing, meaning I wasn't under the ice. But how? Crawling over to where I had moments ago had fallen I peeked over the edge. My fingers were still shaking as I was dripping wet. The ice, a huge hole was in view. Millions of questions races through my mind. I looked around wildly for Alexander, he could be anywhere. Sighing, I got up. As I was leaving going for the cornucopia I noticed a few blood stains on the ice. Everything pieces together now, Alexander hates tight spaces, possible with the adrenaline rush he had produced by fear he punched a hole in the ice and escaped. I stopped at the cornucopia, the blood bath had been long over. I went inside, looking around for a bow and some arrows. My eyes landed on a silver bow with some arrows tucked away in the corner, almost hidden from sight. I rushed over quickly grabbing it and a backpack and ran to the north, to safety.
