Chapter Seven: Nothing But Mist And A Cannon
Dimond's POV
Blood splatters everywhere ending at my bush. I focus my eyes on the figure before me. Kirmina stares at her victim, not moving an inch. She doesn't know I am behind a nearby bush, watching, which is a good thing. I wonder to myself "Kill or not kill" then think who would make it out alive if I chose kill. I mean I am faster, meaner, and more skilled, but she is taller and older which most likely means stronger. Even with all my calculations we both have a 50% chance. I glance over at her again, but by accident crack a nearby twig. Her ears pipe up and, in alarm, she shifts her eyes over to me. Her shoulders then relax and she calms down, thinking I am not a threat. Then flashes me a murderous smile. I look upon her wondering what she might do. Run? Attack? No, something way, way unexpected. She acts like I am a rabbit she is trying to catch. "Come here. It's okay. I don't bite." I roll my eyes and reply smart with "Well I do." She gives a unbalanced growl before leaping forward and tackling my leg. I yelp in alarm, as I try to shake her off. I am about to yank my bow, when something catches my head. Behind Kirmina, covering the rolling hills, comes a purple mist. And it is moving fast. I gasp as the birds sink and the animals become quiet. I shove Kirmina but she won't budge. I know what I have to do. I grab my bow and hit her over her head, while getting up. She falls backwards and gives off a hiss. Soon smoke surrounds me. I start yelling, shooting arrows in all directions as it becomes thicker. I don't know if I shot Kirmina, the only information I know is that when the mist starting pulling in she was on the floor coughing. I start slowing down and my aim becomes wobbly. The mist hits my face making my throat dry, my eyes sting, and my ears clogged. Soon I freeze and fall down. But before the purple mist takes over I spot the careers. A cannon explodes in the distance.
TyperGirl has dropped out so she died.
