Chapter Fifteen Part One: Running and Fleeing To The Door

Rita's POV

I ran when I heard the announcement as I was shocked. I was on a small island and had to jump from island to island. I saw the cornucopia blow up and I ran further south. I just saw the mountain, the ground was blowing up behind me, I took one last leap and - I was there. And alive.

Some others were there too, but we took no notice of each other. We all obviously thought we'd all been through enough and couldn't be bothered to fight it out. I was cool with that, I was so tired from running that quickly. I sat down and decided to get some rest.

Carina's POV

I finally made it to the South Sector to meet up with Chara when the announcement came on. A loud speaker boomed through the arena telling us to get to a metal door inside of a mountain in the South Sector.

"Well, aren't we just lucky!"

I exclaimed to Chara as we began our search for the sacred 'metal door'. We were already in the South Sector, so getting to the door first wasn't going to be the hardest task, and there may even be some benefits of being the first arrivals!

Chara opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by a mighty roar, the quake had begun.

We paced around the icy mountains, trying to find the door.

I paused for a moment, and called Chara's name.

"We haven't had a drink in a while! Come here I have an idea!" I shouted through the booms and shakes of the earthquake.

I led her to the base of a snowy mountain and took an scoop of icy sleet and let it dissolve in my mouth. It felt so good to finally be hydrated. The soft icy melted across my tongue and spread through my whole mouth making me feel alive again.

I gestured for Chara to get some and she immediately did the same. She has a blissful expression on her face, as I imagined I did as well.

We took some of the sleet and put it in a spare medical bottle within the medical pack. Even if it melted along the way, it's still water.

We continued to sprint through the icy mountainous terrain still searching. There were only a few, and they weren't that big, so you think it'd be easy? With the quake jerking us left and right, it was one of the most difficult things I've done in the games yet, besides killing innocent people, that is.

The land stool shook furiously and I was thrown to the ground my the force. I quickly stood up again, and regained my balance, before we both continued.

As we were jerked along, Chara suddenly grabbed my arm and stretched her hand outward, pointing.

"Look,"

She whispered in my ear.

There it is."

I looked at what she was pointing at and caught a glimpse of the shiny material.

I slowly nodded with an eager smile on my face, and we began to bolt toward the metal door.

As we got closer and closer I could make out more of what it looked like, it was a big rectangular shape, with a big "The Capital" logo engraved on the front of it.

I felt flustered just thinking about those rich, insane people, who think they own us, and believe me, they don't!

We arrived, staring straight up at the giant, shiny door. I looked at Chara, and gave a relieved smile, we got here first! No one was here to try to slit our throats! We were safe!

I looked out at the arena from where we were, but started to hear a loud CRACK!

The arena was crumbling, and we weren't going down with it.

More may be added..if you can get yours in :)
