If there is something I hate,
That is false hope.
When the real disappointment comes in
It is hard to cope.

They say be positive,
But where does that get you?
All it does it blur the line
Between what is a lie
And what is true.

They say being negative
Is not good for your  mind.
But at least the lines of reality
Are well defined.

I have tried being positive
But it has never worked out.
I rather be sure
Than be filled with doubt.

I think the reason I feel like this
Is because I am scared.
People tend to feel that way
When their hearts are being bared.

Would you like to have
All of your hope and dreams crushed?
It was all thrown down the toilet
And twice flushed.

Maybe I will change my perspective,
Maybe I will not.
My life is my story
And I control the plot.
