I woke up the next day along side Lightning, but before I could ask anything, she left immediately before I could ask what was going on, I tried asking Sazh but he refused to talk either, it's been a few hours since then and now, we're heading over to the Dragon hourglass to get a view on the time left until the next wave

once we arrived, it seemed that Naofumi and Raphtalia are already there taking a look at the hourglass, now in new and improved armor

Not wanting to be a stranger I decided to make my presense known

We walked back over to the inn, mostly in silence, the shock and oddity of what just occurred still sinking in in our minds, I mean damn Sazh, you really got dark that moment, I get that it would piss you off, but to that level, still in wonder I decided to break the silence

I take a turn and wait by the entrance to the Kings Castle, only to hear a thud as someone lands right next to us

I look around to see several adventures all geared up and prepared for the next wave, Raphtalia seems to be conversing with Naofumi whilst the other heroes are nowhere to be seen

Hope: 'Light, Sazh, Y/N, the Wave is about to begin, you better have everything ready because once that clock hits zero, there's no turning back'

Y/N: Yup so we all know the plan right?

Sazh: yep, focus on Lute village and protect the people

Lightning: Assist with that, but return to the palace before everyone else

Hope: 'Whilst I monitor all your status and let you know if anything out of the ordinary comes up'

Y/N: It's the point of no return people, let's give everyone a bright future to look onto

Sazh: lets just hurry it up and get this last adventure over with, the glory's fun and all, but I got a son to get home to, might be nice to finally relax after all of this.

Y/N: really I got a couple plans already, its really just a matter of if we can pull this all off

Hope: 'you can gawk at it all you want at another date, but right now, you need to head over to Lute village before that place get's burnt to the ground'

[Lute Village] [Naofumi POV]

Meand Raphtalia are currently in the Village of Lute, whilst Raphtalia is evacuating everyone, while make sure that all the monsters focus on me. Damn those three heroes, they can't even do their damn jobs right

Naofumi: GO ON, GET OUT OF HERE, NOW

Raphtalia: MASTER NAOFUMI LOOK OUT

Naofumi: huh?

I turn around and see that there's another Zombie that I didn't see, I have no time to react so all I can do is brace for impact

???: THUNDER

the monster got zapped by lightning from and was completely paralyzed, then another figure jumped over and shot him a couple times with what looked like guns, 

???2 Alley-oop

but that's impossible, gun's don't exist yet, looking up I find it's that strange party again with that weird kid, Y/N, I think it was

Y/N: you okay?

Naofumi: Yeah, I'm fine, but what are you guys doing here

Y/N: saw the village in danger and came over to help

Lightning: and we could use a lot more of it, do you have our backs

I was skeptical, these people are the first few to actually have my backs, but why, right now though I can't worry about that, the best thing I can do is swallow my worries for now and accept

Naofumi: fine, Just don't get in my way

[Third POV]

Little Girl: Mommy, help me

Y/N and Naofumi turn to see a swarm of wasps heading towards a mother and daughter, Y/N changes into his Techno Oracle subclass [Clothes get yellow stripes on sleeves and Hopes toolbelt] Naofumi casts a spell and Y/N pulls out his Boomerang as an Electrical Charge Courses through it

Naofumi: SHIELD PRISON

Y/N: Shotlocked

Naofumi's Shield prison protects the civilians and the Boomerang zooms around it hitting the wasps and killing them

Naofumi: Nice Shot (though he owes me an explanation for all of this later)

Y/n: thanks, but there's still more coming so keep moving

Meanwhile Lightning, Sazh, and Raphtalia are busy clearing the path for others to escape

Raphtalia: *slices Zombie* everyone this way

Sazh: *shots multiple wasps* dang, these things just don't quit now do they *shoots another behind him* is there anything we can do to speed this up

Hope: 'perhaps you should try using Fire magic, Zombies typically are weak to that attribute and bugs are normally attracted to light'

Lightning: *shoots one in L'cie form with gunsword* It's not like we have any other choices *changes to Savior* Sazh NOW

Sazh: on it, *charges magic* FIREAGA

Sazh fires his magic into the air, attracting the wasps away from them and causing close by Zombies to decay

Sazh: looks like he was right *turns to Y/N and Naofumi* YO KID, you might wanna get your hands on some fire

Naofumi: ON IT

Naofumi slides down a burnt piece of wood and pulls it out, using it like a torch

Naofumi: THIS WAY YOU STUPID ZOMBIES 

Y/N switches to Piloteer form [aviator goggles in F/C and a green aviator jacket] and shoots a few down with fire magic

Y/N: WHAT'S THE MATTER YOU CAN'T TAKE THE HEAT

Y/N and Naofumi begin to run away with the fire in hand as the monsters continue to charge at them

Naofumi: why am I risking my life to defend total strangers

Y/N: because it is your duty as a hero?

Naofumi: oh really, and what about the other three

Y/N: heck no, those three fight with their ego, believing they're some special chosen ones that can win any fight. You fight knowing that even this fight could still be your last, but still choose to fight, that's what makes you separate and a true hero

Naofumi: well thanks for the input, but silly titles aren't going to help us kill these enemies, we have to defeat while minimizing the damage to the village

Y/N: what about the Watcher tower over there, we can safely get them all to us and then strike

Naofumi: *nods* AIR STRIKE SHIELD

Naofumi's Air Strike Shield gets summoned directly underneath a Zombie, wasting no time, the two of them jump off from the shield and directly onto the tower, ringing the bell to get all of their attention, they all begin charging toward them, but they're beginning to move more ferociously

Naofumi: Damn, the waves are showing no signs of slowing down, in fact, it's almost as if their speeding up, what's going *tower shakes* ghh

the Monster begin to rapidly shake the tower and Naofumi loses his grip on his torch

Y/N (on comms): 'Hope, what's happening, not stopping is one thing, but why are they speeding up

Hope: 'I'm  getting signatures of a chaos Infusion back where the Three heroes are, you might wanna get over there, and fast'

Y/N: 'On It' (we just need to get out of this situation first)

Joey: 'ey I think I got an Idea, but but I need to take over'

Y/N: Alright *switches to Risky Duelist* do whatever you gotta do *switches to Joey

Joey: yo, so I may have an Idea, but it's kinda Crazy

Naofumi: I'm listening

The monsters continue to climb up towards the two of them, but Naofumi begins to spill a bunch of oil around them

Naofumi: NOW LIGHT EM UP

Joey: good thing I god the Hand I need and just da Monsta for the job, I SACRIFICE MY MEOTOKO TO SUMMON FLAMING SWORDSMAN

and just like that, the Silhouette of a purple cyclops like creature formed, only to dissipate with a white light taking it's place and forming a new monster

Joey: now Light Dat Place Up

Flaming Swordsman then slashes at the oil with his sword, lighting the whole thing ablaze as they all jump, swinging off a dangling piece of wood, escaping barely

Naofumi: *groans* well that was close, you're not Y/N are you

Joey: nope, I thought I told ya, da names Joey, and I'm his otha half

Naofumi: whatever, just let him know that I want an explanation later

Joey: alright fair enough, welp parties over, you can rest for now Flaming Swordsman *Flaming Swordsman Disappears into his card* and you can take over again Y/N

and with another Glow, Y/N is back in control, the civilians that they thought escaped returned to check on them both

Civilian: Sir Shield Hero, Sir Hero, are you two alright

Naofumi: what are you doing, I thought I told you to get outta here

Civilian: we all changed our mind and returned after seeing how courageously you and your friends fought back the waves, Lute is our home, it's all we have, we're not going to just abandon it, so we shall fight with you

The Civilians all begin to charge and take down the smaller Zombies, however a larger one begins to come forth, it nearly strikes down one of them had it not been for the Shield Hero protecting them

Civilian2: Sir Hero

Shield Hero: Forget it, you guys can't handle these ones, think about you're families 

Y/N: you've done enough already, just leave the rest to us

Civilian2: *sigh* alright, but be careful, all of you *begin to flee*

Naofumi: LETS FINISH THIS, *punches Zombie* RAPHTALIA

Y/N: LIGHTNING

Lightning & Raphtalia: ON IT, *speeds towards Monster* HAAAAAAA

The two of them slash together, leaving an "X" Wound on it's chest as the two sheath their blades on the other side

[Kirito = Lightning, Asuna = Raphtalia]

Y/N: nice one you two

Raphtalia: *giggles* thank you

Naofumi: but killing one doesn't do us any good, their numbers are still as big as they were before, now what?

Lightning: *turns around* hm, *Gasp* EVERYONE GET DOWN

They turn around to see a fire spell being casted, Y/N already knows what's about to happen and charges towards Naofumi, Sazh and Lightning in tow

Y/N: NAOFUMI SHIELD PRISON, NOW

Naofumi: got it, SHEILD PRISON

Whilst in the Shield Prison, a lot of fireballs hit the shields as Naofumi Hugs Raphtalia close to protect her, thankfully the Shield holds and keeps them safe, they remove the Shield prison only to see the royal guard walking forward, their Captain laughing Manaically

R.G.C.: Heh, we burned them all to death in a single strike

Lightning and Sazh were pissed at their negligence towards others safety, while Raphtalia was still flustered and still being hugged close by Naofumi, and Y/N, well, he already knows how it happens and is paying more attention to Raphtalia trying to figure out how to get her and Naofumi together.

R.G.C. [Royal Guard Captain]: Hm? well if it isn't the Shield Hero, you're pretty tough to have survived that onslaught, same goes for your little friends there

Sazh; You IDIOTS, DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY COULD HAVE DIED HAD WE NOT EVACUATED THEM

R.G.C: hey, what's with all the hostility, were all just doing whatever possible to stop the waves

Lightning: Tch, even if it means killing a harmless civilian

Naofumi: They didn't even care about us or if anyone else was still here

Raphtalia:

Y/N: (oh dang, Raphtalia is pissed, it's never good when you piss of the cute ones)

Raphtalia in a fit of rage charges at the Gaurdsman, utterly pissed

Raphtalia: did you know that Master Naofumi was here, ANSWER ME OR I'LL HAVE YOUR HEAD

R.G.C.: damn demi human, don't you know that we are the royal knights of the Kingdom, we can have your head for such a remark, how dare you point your sword at us

Raphtalia: What kind of knight neglects the people they're supposed to defend

Y/N: Raphtalia calm down, they're not worth it

Raphtalia: but sir, they-

Naofumi: He's right Raphtalia, just let it go

Raphtalia was still very pissed, but reluctantly lowers her sword

R.G.C: Good choice filthy Demi, so long as you stay out of our way, we don't have to make any mistakes

Y/N: fair point, but isn't remaining distracted from making snarky remarks at us rather than focusing on the large zombie behind you a mistake in it of itself

Naofumi: not exactly, it be much more entertaining to watch it munch on these morons

R.G.C: *turns around* huh, what the hell are you-

and to the surprise of absolutely no one, a Zombie came and attacked the knights, barely being protected by Naofumi, however, to the surprise of everyone, the Zombie began to chant magic

Large Zombie; Zweite Darkburst

And then just out of his other hand, an orb of pure darkness shoots out, hitting Naofumi in the shoulder and sending him skidding backwards

Raphtalia: Master Naofumi!

Naofumi: DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME, TAKE HIM DOWN

Raphtalia: Right

Raphtalia charges, jumping on top of its arm and jumping to its head, slicing it straight down

Raphtalia: are you alright Master Naofumi

Y/N: Here *gives Potion* take this

Naofumi Thanks, *gets up and turns towards knights* listen up, we're going to buy you some time, use it to get into formation, *turns to Y/N* think you can do that

Y/N: *switches to Piloteer* ah hell yeah, SAZH surpressing fire

Sazh: 10 - 4 man

Sazh and Y/N then begins to fire left and right hitting every enemy, whilst allowing Raphtalia, Naofumi and Lightning to focus on the larger targets

Naofumi: Raphtalia, NOW

Raphtalia: ON IT

Raphtalia and Naofumi began working in perfect harmony, with several enemies falling at their whims, the other knights watch in amazement, however the Captain remains displeased

R.G.C.: *grumbles* let the shield handle this, We'll offer reinforcements to the three heroes

Majority of the guardsleft with him, but a small few including Ake chose to stay behind, watching the shield hero, they made their choice

Guardsman: PHALANX FORMATION TO SUPPORT THE SHIELD HERO

Knights: PHALANX FORMATION

Guardsman: CHARGE!!

The Knights charged in, fighting off the monsters with the help of Naofumi and Raphtalia

R.G.C.: Idiots, forget em, lets go

The Royal Captain departed and even then, the other knights, Naofumi, Raphtalia, Y/N and his team fought Valiantly

[Meanwhile] [Motoyasu POV]

Me and my sidekicks are fighting the wave boss, a chimera, soon to finish it off

Itsuki: WIND ARROW

Ren: CRIMSON BLADE

Motoyasu: I'll End this, TAKE THIS, LIGHTNING SPEAR

The monster soon disintegrated into ash, and the sky began to blink a red and blue, Take that Naofumi, we didn't need you for this, we don't need you ever, this wave was

Motoyasu: a walk in the park

Ren: this wave was a piece of cake

Itsuki: yep, you said it, the next one is probably going to be easy too

agreed, even without Naofumi, we can do anything, we are the chosen ones after all, though...

Motoyasu: by the way, has anyone seen where Naofumi

I don't care about him, but I do want to get those prisoners out of his clutches, I'm sure that he definitely brainwashed them somehow

Malty: I'm glad he wasn't here, he would've held us back and we wouldn't have had as much fun

Motoyasu: *chuckles* for sure

That's definitely true, there's no way Naofumi would be of any help, after all, he's just a pathetic shield

R.G.C.: Heroes *panting* job well done

Ren (sarcasm): gee, thanks for the help

R.G.C.: Now now, don't be like that

Motoyasu: yeah, after all, they were probably working double time to make up for Naofumi not being here

That kid has a lot of points, did we really think any of this through... are they... really heroes, I doesn't matter anyway, because I'm still one, I don't need anyone, I'll do this on my own if I need to

just then, the blinking stopped, and instead, spread a sky of checkered black and grey throughout the sky

R.G.C.: w-w-What's going on, this isn't a wave

Motoyasu: oh come on, *smirks* well, this is going to be another easy win

more monsters began to spawn, but what I assumed to be the wave boss was definitely going to be everything but easy

Motoyasu: HAAAAAAA

*sigh* here we go again

Wave Boss(?): *grabs spear*

Everyone: *SHOCK*

Motoyasu: ohhhh, heh heh heh, nice kitty

Wave Boss (?): throws him down

well, this may be a bit harder, I'm beginning to regret not thinking about those kids points sooner

[Meanwhile] [Y/N POV]

This, This wasn't suppossed to happen, this is beyond what was ever precedented

Hope: 'Light, Y/N, things are getting really bad, you have to get to the source of whatever's going on and take it down'

Naofumi: Y/N, Light, Sazh, Raphtalia the hell's going on

I'm still in a state of shock and whatever their saying, I can't hear them

Lightning: Y/N are you okay

Joey: 'Y/N!!!!'

Y/N: *snaps out of it* huh, oh sorry, just dazed from this, this is not what was suppossed to occur

Naofumi: huh? What is this then

Y/N: something that changes everything
