Training Day Two (Private Sessions)

Sapphire Lyn's P.O.V. (D4)

I sigh. I wish I could just get this over with already. I'm trying not to show it, but I'm really stressed at the moment. At any moment, I will have to perform for the Gamemakers. The thing is, I don't really know what I'm going to do. Maybe a mace. I really enjoyed knocking those dummies heads off yesterday.

I stood up and walked over to the sheet of paper on the wall that listed the order we were going to be called in.

2. Jean Lawren

3. Sonya Sanders

4. Autumn Winters

Ok, going in eighth isn't so bad. I'm sure they'll be sober enough to see my performance at that point. At least I'm from District Four, which means I get to go in before a lot of the other tributes. I kinda feel bad for the girls from Districts Ten, Eleven and Twelve. They are the ones who really have to deal with the Gamemakers when they're drunk.

In my opinion, they shouldn't even have alcohol when they are judging us like that. It's not really fair, because they could give someone an unfair score just because they were drunk.

Whatever, I'm up next anyways.

Cally Blue's P.O.V. (D5)

"Cally Blue," a nasally voice called through a speaker on the ceiling.

I stood up as Sara walked into the room after her session. She gives me a thumbs up as I pass her. I give her a nervous smile and keep walking.

The Training Center has been completely rearranged. There is a row of dummies leaning against a wall, a table covered in knives and swords and any weapon you can think of, and targets are scattered everywhere. On the walls, the ceiling, the floor, you name it.

"Hello, Cally, I'm Gladius Glemming, the Head Gamemaker. You have ten minutes to show us your skill. Your timer starts...now," he says from the Gamemaker's platform.

I run over to the table and snatch a belt with daggers all over it. I strap it around my waist and look around.

"You wouldn't happen to have any moving dummies, would you?" I ask the Gamemakers.

Gladius raises an eyebrow, "We do, how many would you like?"

"Let's go with three on a medium level."

"Very well," Gladius says.

I notice some of the Gamemakers move forward on their seats. I guess I have peaked their interest.

A man drags out three robot-dummies and switches them on.

All three start running at me at once. For a second, I felt a bit panicked, but I picked up my courage and charged at them full speed.

I did the trick I did yesterday at training when I slid on my knees and sliced the knees. I did this I the first one, making it fall down.

Interesting. I guess these things actually behave like a human would.

I duck as a second robot swings it's sword at my head. I slash it's side, making it draw away from me.

I turn back to the first one, who is now stumbling to its feet.

I step up to it and bury a dagger in its skull. It fell to the ground and went limp.

I drew another dagger from my belt and jammed it into the second ones chest.

Suddenly something hit me on the side. I turned around and saw the third robot.

I quickly grabbed another dagger and slashed it across the dummy's neck with a dramatic twirl at the end.

The dummy dropped dead behind me and my buzzer went off. The Gamemakers stood up from their seats and cheered.

"I'm sorry, but your time is up, Cally. We can't wait to see you in the Games. Well done!" Gladius beams from his platform as I walk out of the room.
