Training Day One

Jean Lawren's P.O.V. (D1)

I glance around at the pathetic excuses for tributes surrounding me. I can't wait to get in the arena so I can show them who's boss. They will be in for it.

I walk over to our Career alliance, if that's what it is. They are all intently watching the Head Trainer as she gives them stupid information. I don't need to listen, because I can handle myself.

While the Head Trainer babbles on about whatever, I review my plans for the Games. I know that we only have to make it to the last twelve to make it through the girl's Games, but what about when we make it to the final Games. I have a feeling that I'll stick with my alliance for the first Games, no matter how unbearable they may be. In the last Games, I'll either just leave or kill one or two of them, then leave. It's risky in an alliance of five. You never know who could be watching you, so I should try to act as unsuspicious as possible.

Now, for who I trust from our alliance? Probably mostly Clarice, but she could flip her lid. I think I can trust Sonya and Autumn, but I can't rule them out yet. As for that girl from Eleven that we asked to join earlier, Iona I think it was, I don't trust her one bit. The only reason we asked her to join was because she was a volunteer and one of the older tributes. Whatever, I can pick her off easily if it comes down to it.

"Jean, what station are you going to first?" Clarice asks me, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Pick a weapon, and I'll give it a shot," I say with a grin.

"How good are you with a sword?"

Brenda Long's P.O.V. (D7)

"Go on, you don't have to stay here and pamper me," I say to Sage, who can't seem to leave my side.

"Are you sure?" she asks.

"Totally, I'll just go to the plant station," I say, pointing in the direction I'm guessing the station is.

"How did you know that plant station was over there?" she questions me.

"Let's just say I have really good hearing. I can also smell things, like, how it smells fresher in that direction, proving that there has to be some form of plant life," I explain.

"Wow, that's really cool. Well have fun."

"Bye."

I hear her run over to a station that sounds like the archery station or spear station, judging by the whizzing sounds. More likely archery, because the "thud" isn't as loud when it hits the target as it is with a spear.

I walk over to the plant station. The rustling of leaves in a corner indicates that someone else is here.

"Hello," I say.

"Umm hi...how did you know I was here? Aren't you...you know...blind?" a voice asks.

"Yes, I am 100% blind, but I'm not deaf," I joke.

"You mean, you heard me?"

"Yeah, you are clearly working on something like camouflaging or something," I say.

"Wow, your good. That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm learning how to build shelter and camouflage it to look like a-"

"A pile of leaves," I finish for her.

"You're amazing, do you already have an alliance?"

"Yes, actually, do you?" I ask.

There was a second of silence, but I could tell she was still there from her breathing, "No."

"I'm sure you could join ours," I say with a smile.

"Really?! That would be so great, thank you!"

"No problem, Brenda Long by the way," I said, holding my hand out to shake hers.

She grabbed it, "Hayley Summers."

Sara Higgins's P.O.V. (D5)

I grab a dagger with a small handle and hand it to Cally.

"Let's give this a try," I say as I grab a dagger for myself.

I walk over to a dummy and slash it across the face, leaving a visible tear. Then I stab it in the gut two or three times before giving Cally a try.

She runs up to it and actually surprises me when she slides on the ground on her knees and slices at the dummy's legs as she passes it. She stands up quickly and punches it in the back of the head hard, making it fall over. Then she jumps on it's back and stabs her knife into the back of its neck.

I stand there with wide eyes in surprise, and cough, "Wow, that was actually really good. Almost better than me," I say, nudging her with my elbow, "You're a natural."

"You think so?"

"Definitely."

Bella Rosewood's P.O.V. (D9)

I sit with my alliance in the cafeteria part of the Training Center.

"There are a lot of really good alliances we have to worry about," I say.

Everyone nods in agreement.

"Yeah, I say we should make our plan. Everyone else is probably doing that right now," Kierra speaks up.

"Yeah... Ok so do we split up? Do we go into the Bloodbath? Do we just run? Do we grab a pack or two first?" I suggest.

"I say we go with that. If you see a pack that is close enough to your pedestal, and you think you can get there in time, please do. We are going to need all the supplies we can get," Flora says, "If you can't get one or don't think you can get there in time, please don't risk it and get away from there as soon as possible. Now, does anyone have a suggestion of where we should meet?"

"It depends on the arena," Amira said.

"I have an idea. If one if us sees somewhere good while we're waiting for the gong, just motion towards the direction of where you think we should meet," Flora says.

Somehow she always has good plans.

"Good idea, I vote Flora to find somewhere suitable," I say and everyone agrees.

"Ok, now all you guys will have to do is look for a pack, and watch me for my signal, got it?"
