Training Day

Jean Lawren's P.O.V. (D1)

I walk into the Training Center with my ally, Clarice Amberton.

"So, you want to go ask for more allies?" she asks.

I wave a hand at her, "Knock yourself out. Just make sure you pick good ones."

She nods and runs over to Brendan and Liam from District Two and Tai from Four. Good pick.

I look around the huge room at the other tributes. Nobody really seems to be training. Everyone is talking to one another, making alliances and whatnot. I look at Dean Willow, who is leading his younger sister away from Grace Price. I assume he doesn't trust her and doesn't want her as an ally. Grace frowns and turns away. I notice Blake Richard talking with Flora and Kierra. That is a good alliance to target.

Suddenly Iona taps me on the shoulder. I turn around, "What?"

"I just wanted to tell you that I'm leaving the Career alliance."

How could she? She's one of our best allies. I look over her shoulder and see Jarus Palmer standing behind her.

"So you're leaving to be with that loser?"

She rolls her eyes, "I'd rather be with him than you, Jean. Besides, he's my friend."

"Whatever," I say as I turn away, trying to sound like I don't care. She is going to regret leaving.

I sigh and walk over to the sword station, where I start training. Soon, Clarice returns with Liam and Brendan.

"These two have agreed to join," she reports, "But Tai rejected the offer to be with his girlfriend. Oh well, his loss."

I smile, "This will be good enough."

Clarice looks around, "Where's Iona?"

I roll my eyes and turn back to my dummy, "She ditched us."

"Huh. Too bad," Clarice says, but she doesn't sound that disappointed. She turns to Liam and Brendan, "Let's see what you guys got."

Mason Paits's P.O.V. (D7)

I walk aimlessly around the crowd of tributes. I realize that the bad thing about there being three Games is that a lot of the alliances are splitting up. Just like Jarus and I did. So now, I'm on my own, I guess.

I sit down at a table, alone. Brenda Long and Sage Salereno are sitting at the table across from mine. I notice them whispering to each other and glancing at me.

Sage stands up and walks over to my table, "You want some allies?"

I think for a moment, but then I reply, "Definitely."

She smiles, "Great! Brenda, come on over. We have some plans to make."

Blake Richard's P.O.V. (D3)

Kierra and Flora stand before me, looking me up and down.

"You say you knew Amira?" Kierra questions.

"Well, sorta. You see, I knew her sister, Polly Senn. We were really good friends."

"Then why did you volunteer if you had such a good friend back home. Just think of how much she probably misses you!" Kierra says.

I raise my hands, "She knew I was going to volunteer. Yeah, she was pretty upset, but she supported my decision."

Kierra raises her eyebrow and looks at Flora. Flora gives her a single nod and she looks back at me, "Alright, you're in."

I smile, "Really?"

Kierra holds up a finger, "Only if you tell us why you want to be in our alliance."

I look at the ground in embarrassment, "Well, it's kind of a secret for now. I just need some time to figure out how I want to tell you."

Kierra smiles, "I'm just messing with you. You can tell me when you want to."

I sigh, "Thank you so much."

Delinia Spokes's P.O.V. (D4)

"Del!" a familiar voice shouts from behind me.

I turn around, "Tai!"

He runs up to me and throws his arms around me, "I missed you so much!"

"Me too..." I say as he releases me.

"What's wrong?" he asks.

I look at him, "I'm just sad that we both have to do the Games. I'm glad you're here though."

"It is a shame that we are both going in, but if I had another chance to go back to the day of the Reapings, I wouldn't hesitate to volunteer all over again."

I smile slightly, "Thanks, Tai. I'm so glad you made it through round two. I was so worried."

"Me too. I thought I was gonna die at the Bloodbath."

"Well it's a good thing you didn't."

He smiles, "So, is it just us? Or did you get some allies?"

I shake my head, "I left my last alliance. I wanted to be with you instead."

"We should ask at least one more person to join, just in case."

We look around the group of tributes. I notice Grace Price walking away from Dean and Kaya. I guess Dean told her to leave. She looks upset. I nod in her direction and Tai gives me an agreeing look.

We both walk over to her and stop in front of her, blocking her path.

"What do you want?" she asks.

"We saw that you don't have any allies anymore and we thought we'd ask if you would like to join us," Tai replies.

She raises her eyebrows, "Sure, why not?"

"Good. Now that we have enough, we should train," I say.

Then we all walk off to the survival stations.
