Train Ride

Clarice Amberton's P.O.V. (D1)

I sit at a fancy table covered in delectable Capitol foods. Sitting across from me is Jean Lawren from my district. To my left is Sonya Sanders from District Two. Everyone was riding in the same train, so we were allowed to go to the other compartments to talk to the other tributes.

"So, should we ask Autumn Winters to join the alliance?" Sonya speaks up.

"I dunno, do you think she's any good?" I ask.

"I'm sure she is. She's spent seven years at the academy."

"Good, you should get her," I say.

"Alright then, I'll go get her," Sonya says as she gets up to leave.

I look at Jean, who is inspecting her nails, "Do you have any suggestions?"

"On what?" she asks casually.

"On anyone you would like to join the Career alliance," I say.

"Nah, not really. But if I were you, I'd go for the people who actually volunteered."

I roll my eyes at her and walk over to the door.

Delinia Spokes's P.O.V. (D4)

I paced back and forth in my compartment. Sapphire, the other girl from my district has already won herself an alliance with Fiona Chase and Rayla Knight from Six, and Mandy Woodsworth from Seven.

Clarice Amberton came in here a little while ago and fetched Autumn Winters.  I assume they are forming the usual Career alliance.

Suddenly, someone taps me on the shoulder. When I turn around, that blind girl from District Seven is standing there.

"Can I help you?" I ask.

"Actually, I was wondering if I can help you," she replies, "You see, I'm in this alliance, and we would like you to join us."

I look over her shoulder and see Sage Salereno smiling at us, "Yeah, sure. I'd love to!"

Brenda smiles, "That's so great! The more, the merrier!"

Or the more, the better chance of staying alive.

Cally Blue's P.O.V. (D5)

"Are you sure?" I ask Sara Higgins, who has just asked me to be her ally in the Games.

"Yeah, totally. I was so sad when I saw you get reaped. I really wish I could've volunteered for you because of your twin, but I had already volunteered. So, I told myself that I would make it up to you by becoming your ally," she explains.

"That's sweet, thanks," I say.

"We are going to get you back to your brother, don't worry about a thing."

Amira Senn's P.O.V. (D3)

Kierra and I sit together in our compartment and stare out the window. I'm glad that we are together. For now anyways. I've seen the Games tear friendships apart before, and that's the last thing I want. Kierra has been my friend forever, and I want it to stay that way.

"Mira," Kierra speaks up.

"Yeah?"

"I'm going to go see if I can find some allys, ok?"

I nod, "Alright, I will too. We'll split up."

I stand up and head to the District Eight compartment. When I get there, I find there is a small group of tributes in one corner. But in another, Crimson Grey sits alone. She is four years older than me, but that's a good thing, right?

"Hey," I say as casually as possible as I approach her.

"Hey," she replies, but she doesn't even look at me.

"I was wondering if-"

She put her hand up in refusal, "Sorry, no alliances for me. You can never trust anyone in the Hunger Games. Don't you know that?"

She acts like I'm some sort of idiot, but I think she's the one who is wrong here. She's right about the whole "trust" part, but being in an alliance really boosts your odds of winning, in my opinion.

I don't even bother trying with her anymore, she's as good as dead with that attitude.

I decide to go back to my compartment to see of any new tributes came in there. When I get there, Kierra is standing there with Flora Cottonweed and Bella Rosewood from Nine.

I heard that those two had a similar story to Kierra's and mine. They are best friends that both were reaped to do the Games together.

I smile as I approach them, knowing that we will work well together.

Grace Price's P.O.V. (D11)

Everyone already has alliances. Lucky them. I don't blame them for not asking me to join. If I were them, I wouldn't want to team up with a criminal either.

I was just doing what I had to do. I've been stealing ever since I could remember. My parents died a long time ago, who knows how, and I've been on my own ever since. I don't know how, but somehow, I got caught stealing stuff. I never get caught. One might call me a cat burglar.

Just then, Kaya Willow and Lydia York walk up to me.

"What do you want?" I ask them.

"We were wondering if you'd like to join our alliance," Kaya asks me.

I look them over. For a moment, I was going to decline. These were some of the youngest girls in the Games. I reconsidered their offer when I thought of the benefits of an alliance.

"Yeah, ok. I'll be in your alliance."

Kaya smiles, "Great, I'll go get Riley."
