The Death Toll (Day Two)

Kaya Willow's P.O.V. (D12)

I unroll my sleeping bag and lay it next to Grace's. I don't trust the rest of our allies. I think Grace made the wrong move asking to be in their alliance. Think about it, it's almost day three, and there is only one more death until this Games is over. I have this strange feeling that one of them will get tired of waiting and want to get out of here sooner, so they might try to kill one of us, since we're new to the alliance.

I hope Grace knows what she's doing, is all.

If none of them do turn against us, then we should be good for the rest of the Games, because we plan to stay up here, at the very top of the mountain, until the Games are over. I don't think any of the other tributes are about to waste two days on climbing a mountain, or else they probably already would've.

Suddenly, the Capitol seal appears in the sky and the anthem starts to play. Then the faces of the dead appear.

The first is Autumn Winters, another Career. I'm pretty happy that two Careers have died so far. That means there will not be so many for the final round of the Games, hopefully.

Next is Bella Rosewood from District Nine. I feel bad for her friend, Flora. They were really good friends, I hear. So was Amira and Kierra. I hate to see good friendships be ruined.

The last face belongs to Sapphire Lyn, from Delinia's district. Delinia raises her eyebrows and says, "Huh, she had a higher training score than me."

Everyone just shakes their heads and lays backs in their sleeping bags.

I sigh as I do the same.

It will all go down tomorrow I'm sure.
