Don Jandin's P.O.V. (D9)

I throw the core of an apple into the muddy water around the cornucopia. My allies and I are sitting on the rock island which the cornucopia rests on, waiting for the death toll to start. The sky is already dark and crickets have started making their annoying chirping sounds.

I can't believe Jarus didn't just kill Tai earlier when he had the chance. Mason and I had Damon under control, and Anthony was supposed to be taking care of Liam and Brendan. He told us that he could handle both of them. I guess he was wrong. Anyway, if Jarus would've killed Tai, we would've finished off Damon and the two friends from District Two no problem. Now, they are out there somewhere in the arena, preparing to come back and strike at any moment.

They are the only real threats here. Because of them, our alliance can't leave the cornucopia to kill other tributes. The moment we leave, they'll come and take over the cornucopia again, leaving us with nothing.

"Guys, I think we should go hunting tomorrow," Jarus says, breaking the silence.

I turn to him, "Are you crazy? The so called 'Careers' are probably out there right now just waiting for us to leave."

Jarus raises his hands, "Alright, fine. I was just making a suggestion."

Before anyone says anything else, the sky lights up with the Capitol seal and the anthem plays loudly.

The first face to show is Kiel Raxer, from District Ten.

I'm not surprised one bit. I saw him as a bloodbather from the very beginning. I'm surprised the rest of his alliance didn't die with him in the Bloodbath.

Bryce Landon from District One shows up next. I turn to Mason and give him a high-five for his kill of today.

The next face is Oliver Dange from District Six.

Ah yes, the wimp that jumped off his pedestal too early. If he didn't die right away, he wouldn't have made it far. The kid had no allies. He didn't stand a chance.

Anthony's face appears next. Everyone in our alliance stays silent as we stare at him. He was a strong ally. It was a shame we lost him. Liam and Brendan will pay for killing him.

The last face to light up the sky is Jackson Toures from District Three.

Oh, so someone else from Kiel's alliance did die today after all. Now all that's left of that alliance is Conner and Brad.

So that makes five deaths today. Not bad for the first day. That means that there are only seven more tributes that need to die for me to make it to the final round. Oh, I can't wait.
