Chapter 1 - The Demon Slayer Corps -
Y/n had spent 8 days with Pyua and so far they enjoyed it, Pyua was very sweet and kind, and only really scolded Y/n when they needed to be. She got the child small gifts, be it sweets or toys, and got them new clothes, and now they wear matching kimonos.
But something was bothering the small child.
The sheathed sword that rested on the wall, facing left. A sign of war.
Was Japan at war?
The sheathed blade was the pinnacle of temptation for Y/n, the constant want to hold the blade, the constant want to use it as their own.
It was thrilling to Y/n. To be a swordsman, to be a protector and a threat to those who did wrong.
Pyua was currently in the kitchen of her small home making herself and Y/n food. Pyua ate a lot of food and because Y/n was a child she did too but Y/n stomach was like a void for sweets. One dango after another and Y/n finished 7 packs.
(Usually dango comes in a set of 3 so Y/n finished 21 dango)
Though with that aside a subconscious question lured at the back of Pyua's brain.
Should she tell Y/n about the Demon slayer Corps?
The child seems very strong willed and loyal. Pyua would see how Y/n stared at her Nichirin blade, she could see the want and wonder in Y/n's eyes as she looked at them.
Pyua missed her fellow comrades, Urokodaki Sakonji, and Kuwajima Jigoro but she also remembered the newer Hashira's, Himejima Gyomei, and Kocho Kanae. Though Kocho arrived just before Pyua's retirement from the organization.
Pyua remembered Himejima well, he was the one who took on her training to get stronger and successfully did so. He was a kind man always striving for others safety, Pyua knew without a doubt in her mind that Gyomei would be the strongest after her leave, and from what Kaguya has said, he is, and a want in Pyua's mind wanted Y/n to be strong like that, she could see the potential Y/n had, even though they've never picked up a sword.
___________
After thorough thinking Pyua finally decided it was best to tell Y/n about the Demon Slayer Corps.
Though currently the small child was stuck staring at the clouds above, one of them reminded them of a horse, and another a bunny, or maybe a sheep.
Pyua looked at Y/n from the porch of the small home, the dazed look in their eyes almost made Pyua want to not call them over, but she proceeded anyway. "Y/n! Come here please." Y/n looked at Pyua with a small smile and got up and walked towards the older lady.
Pyua held out her hand to Y/n in which they gladly took as the white-haired female led them inside, Pyua led Y/n to the small table as the both of them sat down. "Y/n do you know demon's exist?"
There was really no other way Pyua could put it.
Of course Y/n knew demons existed, their family tried to sacrifice them to a demon and had successfully done so to their brother right in front of them. Yeah they knew demons existed.
Y/n gave a small and simple nod for an answer, and Pyua's eyes held pity, most likely realizing what the child was running from the night she found them.
"I'm so sorry little one, no demon slayer was there to save you were they? As long as I can my little one I will make sure you are strong and protected."
'Demon Slayers?' Y/n didn't need to put too much thought into what demon slayers are; it was quite literally in their name.
"With the look on your face it's safe to guess you've never heard anyone even mutter about them, demon slayers are part of the Demon Slayer Corps, they defend everyone they can from demons but sometimes they fail, and there isn't anything that they can do besides move forward." Pyua got up and walked to the wall that held the blade and picked it up off its holder.
Pyua walked back to Y/n and offered the large blade to them. The blade was easily bigger than Y/n themselves but despite that Y/n still took the blade, which to them was surprisingly light, with the wonder and curiosity taking over them, Y/n pulled out the blade a tad bit and saw the kanji engraved in it. "Destroyer of Demons" already mesmerized Y/n did their best to pull out the rest of the blade, a beautiful thin like blade that had golden colored birds flying up the middle while the rest of the blade was pure white.
"Pyua? Can-..can I be a Demon Slayer?"
Before answering Pyua took a good look at the child before her, she could sense the want to kill from Y/n ever since Pyua mentioned demons at the beginning of the conversation, then she saw the way Y/n easily carried her blade though Pyua's weapon wasn't exactly like other slayers blades it still wasn't light or shouldn't be to five year old child.
"Haneochi Y/n, from this point on I, Haneochi Pyua, the former Heaven Hashira will be your trainer."
______________
Y/n rested as Pyua sat writing a letter under the moonlight that shone through her window.
'Dear Master Kaguya,
I, Haneochi Pyua, have taken in a child who I believe is from the L/n clan in Yokohama. They are kind hearted and pure, but I can see it in their eyes, the sadness of loss, the hate they have rests behind their soul. But their potential reminds me of that of what you tell me of young Tokito Muichiro, but if they really are a part of the L/n clan, I will ask the assistance of Iguro Obanai. May this letter find you good health Master.
Haneochi Pyua.'
