39: Meet the war chiefs
The two days were strenuous for Clarke. She still wasn't allowed to touch an actual sword. Due to the lack of time she only had a crash course on hand to hand combat and no experience with a sword or staff. Luckily she still had her handgun. The training with Lexa and sometimes Indra had been intense and when the last war chief arrived she was pretty beaten up.
Now she waited for the meeting to begin.
"Greetings worhedas!" Lexa started the meeting and the room went quiet. "Now that all have gathered Klork kom Skaikru and ai will explain the plan to you. Keep in mind, that the Maunon are our biggest and strongest enemy. We will have to match that with stealth..."
"...That is why we have an inside man in Mt. Weather," Clarke took over the explanation "He will disable the acid fog, so a large army can go right to their front door. A small troop needs to disable the turbines, that give the mountain power. With that we will be able to breach the main door. Our main goal, however, is to get our people out, not to..."
A crackle from Clarke's radio interrupted her explanation and Raven's voice was heard "Clarke! Come in, Clarke!"
"Excuse me, I have to take this, it's probably important," Clarke apologised.
"Do so, Klork kom Skaikru. I will continue with the plan," Lexa dismissed her and Clarke left the hall.
Outside she answered, "I'm here, Raven. What is it?"
"Ah, good. What took you so long? Never mind. It's Bellamy, Clarke. He got in."
For a short moment Clarke felt relief, but than Raven continued, "And he has bad news."
Clarke started pacing and her worried look attracted the attention of a passing Nyko.
"What is it, Raven?" Clarke asked worriedly.
"The mountain wants to launch a missile at TonDC. With that they'd take out all the leaders at once. You need to get out there!"
Nyko, who heard the last part spoke up, "We need to get the people to safety. I will sound the alarm."
"Wait!" Clarke said, "We must d it without risking Bellamy. The mountain must not find out, that we have an inside man! Make it seem unrelated. I don't know, send out the hunters and such things. I'll inform Heda and the war chiefs."
Nyko nodded and went of while Clarke went back inside.
"...so the inside man will free our people when I give the signal," Lexa just finished explaining the key part of the plan.
"Heda," Clarke started with urgency in her voice and all eyes turned to her, "the mountain will send a missile to TonDC to take all of us out. We need to evacuate immediately without raising to much suspicion. How long until we can march. The time frame has just shortened."
Lexa looked to the war chiefs and said, "Trikru is ready."
"Louwada Kliron Kru is ready, too," Kasia answered.
"The Yuileda army will arrive today," Broadleafs war chief added.
"Oskejonkru has already joined Heda's troops," the Blue Cliff war chief told Clarke.
"Azgeda is ready to march," their worheda said with a grim face.
"So is Podakru," The Lake Clans war chief assured.
"And Boudalankru," their war chief boasted.
"Delfikru still needs two or three more days," their chief answered. He looked tired. He must have travelled all night and day from his clan to be here now. And all that, on the command of a single person.
"Trishanakru, too. We have a long way to march. And the people still need to be brought together," the chief of the Glowing Forest Clan added.
"The riders of Ingranronakru will join the army at sunrise or at sun high latest," their war chief informed Clarke.
"Good. I'll get my people toghether as soon as possible, too," Clarke finished the round, "but I have to see how far our mechanics have planned. We don't want a flaw in the plan, just because we acted hastily. Now, how do we get the people out?"
"I know how," Lexa answered. To tell the truth, she didn't. But she was Heda, she always needed to have a plan and she still had a few seconds to think about how to improvise.
Lexa stepped outside, followed by the war chiefs. Outside Nyko spoke to the people. It seemed like the hunters were already leaving.
Go and tell the plans to your armies, Lexa instructed the war chiefs and so they dispersed. Even the ones without an army just pretended to go to them, just to get out of danger.
Some just didn't seem to care for the safety of TonDC and others just trusted Lexa. To Lexa's surprise they all left without arguing or screaming for revenge. This would come after the assault of the mountain.
"...En ai gaf kru geda fisdina in! (And I need people to gather herbs!)" Nyko just said and chose most of the civilians of TonDC. He continued in English, "I need as many herbs as I can get, we are going to war, so bring back at least two baskets!"
Then he turned to Lexa, who was next to him now and started addressing the seconds and their foes, "Ge yu sekons en glong gonakru op! (Get your seconds and join the army!)" Her voice carried and after foes and seconds had left only five people remained.
The fife people came closer. "Heda," one of them said and they all bowed, "we ask your permission to search the woods for the Maunon. If they target the village, this monsters will not be far."
"They will send a missile. Why would they be here, if they can stay in their mountain securely?" Lexa objected.
"No, wait. They are right," Clarke argued, "TonDC is - for a target at least - far away. They might have a spotter near, so they don't miss. The sooner we can take the spotter out, the better."
Lexa nodded, "We head out then. You, she turned to the group, go search, Nyko, get herbs, Clarke, you are with me, we need to get Anya, Indra and Octavia..."
