30: When all is lost, then all is found - Part 2
A/N: Here is an extra part since I technically split the chapter. Next update will come on Monday.
-------------------------------------------------------------
While Lexa and her group started their search for Octavia, Raven helped Sinclair coordinate the radio calls while Clarke helped Kane with the planning.
It wasn't easy to pick up a trail after so many people had left through the hole in the fence. Because of this Lexa was glad to have so many skilled trackers with her. They could cover a wider area and hopefully find Octavia.
Indra was the first to pick up a trail. She had to admire the young Skaikru girl. She definitely wasn't easy to find, but now they at least knew where to start looking.
More than one time Gustus had to hold back Bellamy, so he wouldn't destroy the trail in his clumsiness. He had no clue why Lexa had allowed him to come. The Skaikru were loud, obnoxious and had no clue how to move in the forest.
And so Gustus was mostly babysitting while the women tried not to lose Octavia's trail again. They had already searched for almost an hour, nobody had found Octavia and moral began to wear low. One group had already returned to Camp Jaha empty-handed.
Lexa's group had lost track multiple times and right now it didn't look like they would find it again. Bellamy kinda freaked out again, but this time nobody held him back. There was no trail to destroy anymore.
Indra admired the young girl once again. She had managed to adapt to moving in the woods without a trace, something her brother didn't. Linkon had had quiet the influence on Octavia.
Meanwhile Bellamy had wondered off. A surprised scram escaped his throat. All eyes turned to him and Gustus and Anya rolled their eyes. He was behaving like a goufa (child).
"I know where we are!" Bellamy exclaimed excitedly. He would recognise this skeletons everywhere. They were chased through here before, he led a search party for Octavia through here before and he had dragged Linkon through here before. Why didn't he remember this earlier. He had a very good idea of where Octavia was, now.
"Congratulations," Anya gave a snarky comment, "and here I thought, every Skaikru is totally lost in these woods. Wouldn't be the fist time."
Indra snorted. But Bellamy couldn't care less. He started walking and took the radio from his belt, "Raven, come in, over." He knew Raven was on the radio, since he had heard her talking to other groups before.
Lexa looked at the radio, as Clarke had called it. It was a strange device, letting you talk to people that weren't really there. She just had to ask Clarke about this later.
Anya looked up at the mentioning of Raven's name. She found it quite unnerving to hear voices from that black-box-radio-thing. She didn't know how it worked and she didn't like the idea, that a small Raven might be trapped inside this box. She had to find Raven back at the Skaikru camp and ask her about it.
"What's up, Bellamy?" Raven's voice came from the radio, "You sound like you found something."
"I think I know, where she is!" Bellamy exclaimed.
Silence.
"Aaaaand...?" Raven prompted him.
"You remember this cave, Octavia was in. Where we found her?"
"I remember you talking about it," Raven answered.
"She is probably there."
"Okay, keep me posted, over."
And with that the radio went silent again.
Raven turned to Clarke and Kane, "Hey, should we call back the other tams or do we wait until Bellamy has found her?"
Clarke and Kane looked at each other and Clarke answered, "Keep them out there, just in case."
Raven nodded and turned back around.
Bellamy took the wrong turn twice and they had to go back, but eventually they found the cave and entered.
And there she was, staring into the empty fire pit with a kettle hanging over it.
Bellamy ran over to her and hugged her, "I've been so worried about you. You were just gone this morning!"
"He is gone," Octavia didn't indicate that she had heard, what Bellamy had said, "and he will never return. He was taken by the Maunon. He will never come back to me."
Octavia didn't cry, didn't look sad. And that worried Bellamy the most, she was just...empty.
"But we can fight against the Mountain. And then you can get Linkon back," Bellamy tried to get through to Octavia. But to no avail.
"He is gone. No one ever returns from the Mountain."
Anya, Lexa and Gustus looked at Octavia. She was broken. Heartbroken, because the love of her life was taken from her. And she couldn't even say her goodbyes.
Lexa knew exactly how Octavia was feeling.
But Indra didn't just look, she stepped forward. "Hey girl," she said, "I knew Linkon. He was like a son to me once. I know, how painful his loss is to you, but we can't give up. He sacrificed himself for you. Now get up and fight for him. He didn't go down just for you to drown in self pity. Be a true gona (fighter/warrior) and get up! Or die in here like a bushhada (coward). He betrayed his clan for you, his family and friends. Let this count for something."
Suddenly Octavia's eyes lit up. But not in a lively way, but in an angry way. Bellamy backed away from his sister.
Octavia picked up a stick, that laid near the fire pit and swung at Indra, screaming, "You betrayed him! You left him! He is gone because of you!"
Indra dodged. Octavia swung again and Gustus wanted to storm forward, but Lexa held him back. This was between Indra and the Skaikru girl.
This time Indra caught the stick, turned and twisted it out of Octavia's grip. A kick and Octavia was on the ground, panting heavily.
Indra threw the stick away, but Octavia wasn't done yet. She got up again and attacked Indra with her fists.
To the ground she went again, this time Bellamy tried to intervene, but Gustus stopped him and held him back.
Again and again Octavia got up, attacked and was thrown to the ground, beaten by Indra. Finally, she didn't get up anymore, heavily panting on all four, bruised and spitting blood to the ground. That was when Indra stepped back and Gustus released Bellamy, who rushed to his sister and helped her up.
Then they headed back to the camp.
