Chapter 39
Marla gave Haytham all the information he needed. She promised him the address of where Aliyah is being kept by the next day.
Jaffar thought she was bluffing but she still did it anyway. She laughed as she counted the money she got. Haytham had paid her half of the money. The deal was that she gets the other half after he finds Aliyah.
The three men parked their car outside a bar they were told he goes to. Haytham was so anxious. All he wanted to do is pound the life out of Jaffar. Hanif was actually feeling sorry for him. How can a man who was born in Islam go this astray?
They sat there all night waiting for him to come but he didn't.
"Come on," Jamal said while yawning. "Let's go back. He is not coming tonight."
"Let's just wait for thirty more minutes." Hanif said while staring outside.
"I am not leaving until I beat that man to a pulp." Haytham was persistent. "If he doesn't show up in thirty minutes, I am going in to find him."
The other two looked at him as if he had poop on his face.
"You know you shouldn't go in there, it's against the teachings of Islam." Jamal tried to reason with him. Hanif was staring outside when he saw someone. He wasn't sure it was him so he asked for the photo of him they were given by Marla. He immediately smilled.
"Jackpot!" He said and everyone stared at him. "There is our man."
A slightly drunk Jaffar was trying to get to his car. He wasn't staggering. He usually just drinks a little. He does it to relieve himself of stress or so he believes.
Haytham got off the car first and ran fast towards Jaffar. A confused Jaffar sized him up and smiled.
"What's your prob-"
Baam, he got punched right in the face. Jaffar was so surprised and the punch brought him to reality.
"What's your problem, dude?" He asked while touching his busted lip.
"I don't know. Maybe I am just a klutz." Haytham said and punched him again.
"Okay that's it!" Jaffar and Haytham got into a fight. Punches and kicks were flying. Both were really strong and it was not clear who was actually winning the fight at first. Some people got closer and watched them.
"Dude, the lion there has real MMA skills." One of the spectators said about Haytham referring to him as a lion because of his full beard and hair that definitely needed a cut.
"Do you think we should stop them now?" Jamal asked Hanif who was having fun watching Jaffar getting beaten up.
"No, let them continue for a while longer. Haytham is doing a good job." Hanif said and Jamal laughed.
"You will tell me where Aliyah is or else I swear I will knock your teeth out. All of them." Haytham said breathlessly. He was so tired he couldn't fight anymore.
Jaffar simply laughed at his face annoying him even more.
"Aliyah? I don't have her." He said and Haytham grabbed him with renewed energy and gave him a series of punches.
"Speak up. Where are you keeping her?" Haytham was angry and had lost control of himself completely.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Jaffar turned to the small crowd and got an idea. "What are you guys staring at? Call the police. I am being terrorised by this Arab freak and you are just watching?"
The crowd started whispering amongst themselves. Some took out their phones and Hanif knew it was time to intervene.
"Come on, that's enough." He tried pulling him towards the car.
"This is not over, Jaffar!" He said and walked back to their car. Jamal had already got on the driver's seat. No way would they let him drive in that state.
Haytham was bloody. His knuckles were bruised, lips bursted and nose was bleeding.
"Never seen you fight like that in my whole life before." Jamal smiled at him.
"Damn he was quite a challenge." Haytham finally spoke. "I will kill him if I don't find Aliyah. By Allah I will."
Jamal and Hanif looked at him surprised.
"Say Astaghfirullah mate." Jamal said while focusing on the road. Haytham sighed. He was afraid of his own thoughts.
"Just drive. We can't follow him. I am sure he is expecting us to." Haytham said while running his fingers through his hair.
They went back to Hanif's apartment. Haytham hit the shower. His jaw hurt so much and he felt exhausted.
"I will kill you Jaffar. I will if I don't get my Aliyah back." He whispered to himself as the water washed the dried blood away.
They went to the mosque to pray Isha. Haytham and Hanif both prayed for Aliyah. Whispering there hearts out to the One and Only.
Both were amazing men. Both loved her to death. Both prayed for her in every dua they made. Both wished for nothing more than being with her in this world and the after. None was more deserving than the other.
