Rey's POV
We land the Falcon on ground all to familiar for me.

Excitement takes over and I dash off the Falcon with Apollo running after me.

The ramp can not lower fast enough, as I duck my head and jump the last little bit to the ground.

I intake with a deep breathe of crisp, fresh air and feel the warm sun hit my cheeks.

"Wooooow." I hear Apollo say in awe.

"It gets better." I say while not daring to remove my eyes from the beautiful lake in front of me.

"I forgot how beautiful green is." Kayla says coming up behind us.

"It's my new favorite color." Apollo smiles.

I crouch down to his eye level. "Do you like it here?"

"Yeah. Is this our new home?"

"Hopefully. We just need to find a home and new jobs."

"I didn't bring enough supplies to set up shop here." Kayla tells me.

"We don't expect either of you to work."I say looking up at Kayla. I look back to Apollo. "Your job is to keep our cover. Can you do that?"

"Yes mommy." Apollo smiles and I take him into my arms.

"What about Maz?" Ben asks walking up behind us. "She'll recognize both of us. Even if we change our appearances, the moment we step foot through that door, she'll sense our presence."

I remember that time I first came here and she announced 'Han Solo' after we had barely stepped through the door.

"Okay, so we avoid her." I reply.

"Any idea how far away the next village is?" Ben asks.

"Shouldn't we have just kept flying?" Kayla asks.

"Can't fly around, looks suspicious. This was the safest spot we could think of." Ben informs her.

"Well I like it." Apollo smiles.

"Me too." I smile back.

Just then a fleet of X-wings drop out of hyperspace and quickly make their way to land nearby.

We watch carefully, trying to sense who is aboard. Apollo in just pure awe.

"Why are they here?" Kayla asks, breaking the silence.

"No idea." Ben replies.

Beep. Beep.

My head shoots towards Ben, as his head shoots to his boot. The commlink.

Beep. Beep.

He reaches down and retrieves it. We both stare unsure, but we only know one person who has this commlink's sync number.

Beep. Beep.

Poe Dameron.

"Answer it." I tell Ben.

He clicks it on. "Hello?"

"Did I spy a certain bird in the area?" Poe says casually.

"You may have." Ben smiles.

"Well we needed to stop and refuel. More of the Resistance is coming, including Luke and General Organa. Now as much as I would love to see you guys. You may want to leave."

"Or stay hidden." I chime in.

"You said more are coming?" Ben asks.

"Yeah." He confirms.

"We should probably hide than. Would hate to run into anyone on the way out." Ben replies.

"Yeah I guess." Poe says. "Hey was that Rey I heard right?"

"Yeah, I'm here." I smile and inch closer to the commlink.

"Well I was told to tell you that you're missed." Poe informs me.

"Awwww. I miss you guys too."

"What about me?" Ben counters.

"Yeah you too, but Finn told me to specially tell Rey that."

BB-8 begins beeping in the background.

"Yeah, hold on buddy." Poe tells him. "BB-8 wants to see Rey. Can we meet?"

"Hold on." Ben says immediately.

I down at Apollo, then to Ben. "Is it safe?" I question in a whisper.

"Who's all coming?" Ben asks.

"Probably BB-8, myself, and Finn." Poe replies.

"Okay. No one else." I tell Poe.

"Deal. Now where can we meet?" Poe asks.

"Well where are you guys?" Ben asks.

Apollo tugs on my pant leg and I crouch to his level. "What's going on?" Apollo whispers.

"You're going to meet some of our friends that just came in those cool ships." I tell him.

"Can I stay with the ship?" Kayla asks.

Ben gives her a silent quick nod.

"Cool. Will we go exploring as well?" Apollo asks.

"We're by Maz's Castle, her new one that is." Poe says.

"Tell him to tell BB-8 to run away into the forest like he is being chased by stormtroopers with me." I tell Ben and he relys the message.

"Who's BB-8?" Apollo asks as Kayla gives a small wave goodbye and I nod in acknowledgement.

"A little droid I meet a while ago on a dessert, he got me dragged into this mess."

"How?"

"Well he was looking for someone and needed help."

"So you helped him find that person?"

"Yeah, but it was quite the journey. I saved him from becoming scrap metal a couple of times too."

"Wow. You really are a hero." Apollo smiles brightly.

"Ready?" Ben asks us.

"Yeah!" Apollo grabs my hand and Ben's, leading us forward blindly into the forest.

He stops a couple feet into the thick greenery. "Where are we going?"

"That's a good question." Ben smiles down at him, then looks to me to answer. "Where are we going?"

"Just go like you are running away from something and you'll find the path you're looking for." I tell Apollo.

"But how will I know it's the right one?"

"You may not know it at first." I say looking at Apollo. "But once you become familiar with the path, you'll know the corners
and your surroundings,

that's when you know it's the right one."

"Okay." Apollo's grip tightens ans he leads the way again.

I can feel Ben's eyes on me and turn to look.

What? I ask Ben using our bond.

I love you.

I know.

A/N: So I finally read that new article for Entertainment Weekly, the one with Rey on the cover... I got some ideas... Brace yourselves, because this flows perfectly with how I plan on ending this book.
That's right, I'm in the stages of beginning this book to a close sadly... But not more sadly than my final kills 😂
Any who, I'm working on another book that isn't the third in this series and you may have to wait until after The Last Jedi for the third book, that's already named, but I'm not telling you guys 😜
