Bonnie

       WARNING: EPICNESS

When Bonnie lifted her head off of the chilly ground, she looked drearily down the hallway. It was lit up by a single blue light. She pulled herself up groggily by her arms and still sat, her legs trailing to the side.

Where was she? The area looked quite . . . strange; even though there was just a hallway and a room at the end. What was creating the light? Bonnie had to find out.

She slowly got up to her feet and walked down. Pure silence rang in her ears, other than the small ambiance of her feet tapping the floor. It startled her with every touch, but she kept her focus on the room that grew as she drew nearer to it.

Bonnie passed through the end of the hallway and found herself in a circular room. The walls were the same as the hallway, the floor was the same as the hallway, but from the edges of the room, the floor slanted down slightly towards the center.

The center was what caught Bonnie's attention most.

It was a blue orb sitting on a bright blue pedestal, bleeding bright blue light in the dark room. It was the only source of light. Bonnie wondered what its purpose was. She wondered why she was here. Why touching that one painting would bring her . . . here.

She remembered what happened when she touched the painting. She was transported here--wherever here was. What would happen if she touched the orb? What if it was all a dream? She couldn't die in a dream. That was impossible--unless she had some sort of a heart attack.

Bonnie reached towards the orb, her face illuminated by the light, as though she was watching TV. Her fingers touched its smooth surface--

That was when everything around her changed.

She gasped as she looked around. The sky above her was a beautiful blue, dotted with clouds. When she looked down, that was what surprised her most.

Bonnie was on the edge of a giant skyscraper in a city that looked like New York or Chicago. Her breathing went almost as fast as her heartbeat as she stumbled backward onto the pavement on top.

She was definitely dreaming, but it all felt so real. It didn't feel hazy like a dream was. It didn't feel like she was asleep. She knew the difference between dreaming and being awake. She was awake.

Bonnie trembled as she tried to get into the middle of the top of the building. How would she get back to the orb? How would she get back to her friends? Would she ever? These thoughts plagued her mind as she simply looked around at the veins of the city. Bonnie wanted to cry.

        The building started shaking.

It started as a mild hum, but quickly grew into an earthquake that took her off of her feet. She could hear herself breathing with voice, pure terror stabbing at her like a knife. She was laying on the cold cement, on her stomach.

How do I get out of this? she thought frantically, searching for a way out. There was no way out other than to jump off of the building.

Maybe it really was a dream. But it wasn't. It felt so real.

But dreams do feel real anyways.

Ignoring the shaking, Bonnie scrambled to her feet and sprinted towards the edge of the building, her body acting before her mind.

Maybe it wasn't a good idea.

        Was it a good idea?

Bonnie had no time to answer these questions as she landed a foot on the edge. With a leap and a grunt, she was falling, seeing the city rush up towards her.

Suddenly, the building she had just jumped off of exploded into blocks. Bonnie screamed as the blocks rammed into her with immense force. She screamed as she looked around and saw nothing but blocks around her.

Soon, the blocks were forming a platform under her feet. She stared at them with curiosity as soon she was standing on some flying machine. She screamed as it drew closer to the ground. Any longer and she would crash and most likely die.

At the last second, the platform slowed to a stop, letting Bonnie get off. She gladly skittered off of it and stood on the street, looking up with fear as the billions of blocks were crashing towards the Earth.

I've gotta run, she thought tensely. She turned and broke into a mad run, ignoring the blocks behind her as they all crashed into the ground.

Bonnie didn't know the truth of the situation.

If she would have looked behind her, she would have seen the ground exploding into more blocks as each block made contact with the ground. They were multiplying.

Bonnie's heart stopped when she looked in front of her. She saw the ground slowly flaking away quite a few paces away. More and more blocks filled the air. Bonnie was trapped.

Her head flicked left and right, trying to find a way out of the situation. She couldn't find anything, as she was completely trapped.

All she could see were buildings.

        Buildings.

Bonnie sprinted to a building to her right and flung open the entrance door. There was a beautiful lobby with stairs that were closed off just a few paces away. It was peaceful, even though everything was literally falling apart outside. Bonnie's legs pounded the floor as she made it to the stairs, flying up them faster than she ever had.

There was a large window beside the stairs. When she looked outside at the blocks, she curiously found that they were forming giant cubed balls. She grew in speed and agility as she made her way to the second floor, the third, the fourth--

CRASH! The ground shook under Bonnie as she looked down at the first floor. It was all completely destroyed. She could see the back of a ball hurtling out and crashing into the next wall. The balls were going to destroy the building. She zoomed up the stairs even faster to the next few floors until--

CRASH! Another giant ball crashed into the building, but this time overhead. Bonnie stopped and looked up a the destruction. She could see that the roof had been torn open, letting in sunlight. The sky was now a smoky gray. Bonnie started up the stairs again, until another ball was sent hurtling into the building. This time it was closer to Bonnie--actually on the same floor as her. The building went dumb as Bonnie felt it begin spinning around. She could now look outside from where she was, as the ball had completely demolished the wall. Blocks were everywhere, floating like new snow.

How could she get out of this? Everything was being destroyed. It all was--

BOOOOM! Another ball was sent hurtling into the building. This time, Bonnie was face-to-face with its blocky surface. She didn't even have time to gasp as it slammed into her and kept her on the surface. She was plastered by centrifugal force, flying through one of the gashes the ball had created in the building.

Unfortunately, there was another building right ahead. Bonnie would be crushed if she didn't do something.

The amount of force being put on her by the traveling ball felt almost exactly like gravity's pull. With that realization, she got on her hands and knees and crawled to the corner of the ball, where it was most blocky. She peered over and saw the back of the ball dissapating into blocks. It was her only chance at survival if the blocks floated.

She stood up on top and ran madly towards the end. Half of the ball was already gone. The force of the ball being sent forward made Bonnie fall off. She screamed as her foot missed the ball and was sent falling towards the ground.

When Bonnie hurtled into the ground and pain was all she knew, the scene changed and she was back in Room 13, Level B1.

When she looked back to everyone else, they didn't seem to notice her.

All she could think was: What just happened?
