When Refrences Fill Your Mind With Knowlege
"W-what?" My voice shook as the word escaped my mouth. Why am I crying? The man's embrace was so warm, so loving, but that didn't explain why tears were slowly going down my cheeks.
The man let go of me and took a step back. In the back of my mind, I didn't want to leave his warm arms. "My child, what do you remember?" I looked up at him into his golden eyes.
What I remembered..? I frowned. I remembered leaving Rimuru, and making the journey with Koe, but... There was a blankness in my memory from the moment we entered the mountains.
"Sumimasen, demo... I am not sure what you mean," I said hesitantly, rubbing my thumb against the palm of my hand. The man scratched the back of his head and opened his mouth to respond. But before he could, another body came streaking past him, plowing into me with such force, I fell onto the cold ground.
"Ow... What's with people running up and tackling..." I looked down, and to my- surprise? No, I was past surprisement, maybe mild interest? No... Anyway, it was not one person that tackled me this time, but two children.
"...me?" The kids appeared to be the same age, maybe 6 or 8, and were obviously twins. They had sandy-gold color hair, though one had it in long, curly brand, and the other in short and fluffy.
"Onee-saaaaan!" One said, both moving a few steps back to let me sit up. I looked into the one who spoke, and saw it was the short haired one. A boy, I guessed. Wait...
"Onee-San? You mean... Me?" Now, let me get this straight. It wasn't them calling me older sister that surprised me. I had younger siblings in my past life, my original life, but two children that I don't belive I'd seen before? That was strange, to say the least.
"Onee-San," I turned my gaze to the other, a girl. She appeared shyer than her twin. "Do you not remember us? It's me, Hestia, and Helios!" Her eyes watered with tears, like a dam about to break.
Think of something quick, Avid!
"He-Hestia? Helios?" My mind raced, but thankfully, being a reader was a pro for this situation. I smiled as brightly as I could, and said, "Of course I do, silly! How could I forget my adorable little siblings?" I reached out, rubbing their heads. Immediatly, I saw a reaction.
"Krystal-Nee-San!!!" They exclaimed in sync, and hugged me tightly around my waist. I gave a soft sigh before slowly wrapping my arms around the two. I looked up, and saw the man looking down at me, in deep thought.
A few moments later, I was sitting on the bed in the bedroom from before. Hestia and Helios were laying on the bed behind me, sleeping. Apparently during the whole process, the sun had gone down, which meant bed time for them. The man, who the twins called Papa, sat beside me, was staring at a ring on his right hand.
"Do you truly remember them, my child?" He suddenly asked, catching me off guard.
"H-huh? Um..." I looked away from him, before muttering an answer.
"What was that? I'm sorry, could you please speak up? I didn't quite catch that." I mentally groaned, but raised my voice.
"No, not really," I looked of to the side, "Well, it's difficult to explain, you see, it's like I know the feeling about them, and I feel warmth in my chest when I see them, but..."
"You don't quite remember them clearly, is that right?" I winced, before nodding my head slowly. Why'd I feel so bad about all of this?? It's like I was caught steeling cookies or something. "I see," he scratched his beard. "If you do not remember your siblings, then do you remember me at all?"
I turned my head, taking in all of him. His appearance, how he talked, how he held himself like a great burden was on him. It did spark a memory somewhere...
"Pffft," I struggled to hold back laughter as I realised who he reminded me of. Undertale references, now?? I wiped tears from the corners of my eyes.
"My child, why are you laughing?" He asked, confused. I waved him off, smiling from the image. He's like a fantasy human verson of him, holy macaroni, he was still looking at me strangely as I took a deep breath in.
"It's nothing. But anyway, it's a similar feeling with you. Like I should know you, but the memory isn't there." He placed his hand under his chin, stroking his beard.
"I see..."
"Um... Anyway, could you tell me what is going on? Or how I got here?" I asked, but he held his hand up, stopping my questions.
"Tomorrow, when the day is ripe. For now," he stood up, walking towards the door, " Rest, even if you just woke up. I shall send a servant to retrieve your siblings." He walked out the door before I could reply.
I sighed, trying to process this all. "Oh, whatever," I gave up, and layed down next to the twins.
Something told me tomorrow was going to be a hectic day.
