The Next Part
I walked slowly, shivering as the wind hit my back. Nothing ran through my mind except the need for food, water, and possibly warmth.
I didn't know how long it had been since I lost Koe... or how far I had gone from the cave. All I knew was the fact it was currently night and it was a long drop down the side of the cliff I walked along.
I grabbed the rocks beside me as I approached the edge in front of me. On the other side I could just barely see a wider ledge, but it was above me by a little. A risky jump, but an easy climb. I only questioned climbing since it had been a while since I could feel anything but pain in my flanges. Jump it was.
I took a few steps back, before dashing towards the ledge, jumping at the last second. I felt my arms hit the rock, and my legs scrapped the side, but I was still falling slowly.
I moved my numb feet, pushing on whatever would give me leverage, before gaining enough inches to struggle myself up.
I scurried away from the edge on my hands and knees, before laying on the foot or so of snow. I looked up at the white sky, brushing snow from my eyelashes. It didn't help much with the storm and all.
I slowly pulled my shaking self up while grabbing a handful of snow. I formed a rough snowball, before biting into it. It was a good water source, and fooled my stomach into thinking it was food.
I continued my trek forward, stumbling at times. At one point, my clothes had started to freeze on my body, so I tore them off, leaving only my scarf and my hair to keep myself warm. I'd rather be frostbiten than have to pry skin and cloth off myself, possibly making myself bleed.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a cub of some animal jumped out at me. Sluggish, I failed to avoid it, and I fell backwards. Two thoughts came to my mind as it stood on my chest. One, it could be lost, and two, it was warm.
Suddenly, a wave of tiredness hits me, and combined with the warmth on my chest, my eyes grow heavy. I think one last thought of protest before sinking into an empty sleep.
"Ah..." My eyes slowly open, only to be greeted by a mass of fur in my face. It takes me too long to realize that this was abnormal, because I was content with the heat in my body. My eyes closed again, to slip back into the carelessness of sleep, but my mind was against that.
Koe! I thought, moving my hands slowly. Whatever was on me shifted, before getting off of me. I gasped at the sudden wave of cold hit me, and I curled up into a shivering ball of meat.
Koe can wait... I just want to be warm, I breathed into my hands, and felt the heat transfer. Wait- I was in the middle of a snowstorm. What kept me warm?
I opened my eyes again, and saw two beautiful green eyes staring at me. My gaze moved, and I saw bright white fur, ears, and a wet snout inches away from my face.
"Ah!"
Oops, that was short. A way, hopefully next chapter I'll post the picture of Avid. See Ya!! And thanks for 12.9k Views!!!! I love you guys!!!
