The Most Unique Title Ever in This Fanfict
"This is all your fault!"
"If it wasn't for you, this would have never happened!"
"I wish you were dead!"
Faces of people with burnt faces and peeling flesh went in and out of my vision. Some of them I knew- Sana-san, Misuku-san, and Riku-kun- and others I had only seen once- the bus driver that allowed men to use my 'American money' instead of yen, the boy I met who cosplayed as Ryoma Echizen from Prince of Tennis. Some of them made absolutely no sense in the context of what they were saying. For example, I bet my bog didn't suddenly learn Japanese while I was gone.
"Avid! Avid!" A voice chanted, softly at first, then growing louder. "Avid. Avid!!"
"Hey!"
Thunk.
"Oww!" I said as I placed a hand to my forehead. As I looked up I saw Gobuta clutching his head too.
"Gobuta? What in the world are you doing here?" I asked, squinting in the light that was filtering in through the tree branches, "Aren't you supposed to be in the village?"
"Rimuru-sama told us to go and find you! We've been looking everywhere!" he said with his silly grin.
"R-Rimuru? What? 'We'?" I said, sitting up.
"We have been looking all over for you! Rimuru-sama sent almost everyone to look for you!" He said almost seriously, "We thought that you had gotten eaten."
Let me rewind a little bit. I had stayed in the village for many days, and I got asked a lot of questions by the Hobgoblins and the Kijin, but it died down after the third day. Everyone was very kind, and they welcomed me in like I was another member of the village. I enjoyed myself a lot; It was a nice change compared to the busy, cramped, short-lived life I had in Japan, and it wasn't very loud. Then, about a week after I had met the famous slime, the dreams started coming.
The dreams were not like anything that I had ever experienced in my whole life. The dreams were vivid twists to my memories, all turned to the worst. Some of them I wished I never would have to see again, others I didn't recall until the morning after the nightmare. Calvin, a boy that got killed in a hit-and-run, coming back and saying that it was my fault. My O-nee-san holding a knife with blood all around her. Ran, my best friend, blaming me for Kallie's move in third grade. But they weren't even the worst. Every nightmare always ended with a combination of people from my life in Japan and in my homeworld, burnt and charred to the bone, wailing out, calling for me, saying that they were like that because of me and that it was my duty to join them. Every morning I would wake up in cold sweat. Every night I had to do it all over again.
I became moody, and I snapped out at anyone that asked me questions. I could tell they were noticing it, but I wouldn't tell anyone about the dreams. After about 5 days of fitful sleep, as I stared up at the ceiling, I decided that I would do a favor for everyone.
After I made sure that everyone was asleep, I slipped out of the hut that I was in. I had with me a bag that I made using some leather that they provided, filled with fruits and bread and some spare (modest) clothes. Under the cover of the night, after I glanced back at the village and whispered a small thank you, I slipped out into the forest.
It had not been a day too soon, because that night, the dreams came with 100x more intensity. Sometimes I would wake up, just to find that the nightmares had lasted the whole day. I would try to stay awake for as long as I could, but sleep would always find a way to slip in.
I ran out of food kind of quickly, but that was okay because I found that basically everything in the forest was edible. During the daytime, I would gather food and work on gathering materials to make things that I might need. At one point, I had made a really sucky bow staff, but I accidentally smashed it during one of my dreams. I also managed to make a wooden sword, an okay longbow, 7 arrows with a sharpened tip, and a quiver. They all turned out surprisingly well, and they weren't too difficult to make.
The bow I originally made so that I could hunt for meat, like from rabbits or something, but one look in their eyes made it so that idea was dead. It was very useful, though, in defeating some small fry beasts and monsters that tried to attack me, so that was good.
I had been able to survive for 40 days that I was awake for, and who knows how many that I had missed. Gobuta had popped up on day 43 which later on, as I had found out, was actually day 62.
"No way! Rimuru sent out that many people to find me?!?" I cried.
"He did. He sent out almost the whole village. Of course, I knew that you would be found eventually, but he didn't seem to think so." Gobuta said
Just then, who else would appear?
Of course, Rimuru- sama, and by the look on his face, he was NOT happy.
Woah! That was a really long chapter! almost 1,000 words?!? Well, I guess it is a thanks to the 1.3k views! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really enjoy doing this. See ya next time!
