Hetera, My New Sister

"How much longer?" I asked the beautiful creature beside me. It looked at me for a few seconds, before shaking its' head, telling me we still had a while. I sighed, before resuming the jog of the wolf-like creature.

An unknown time had passed since I had ran away from that... Thing that attacked Koe and I. I had no clue what in the world happened to Koe, or the beast, but what I did know was I narrowly excaped my second or third death. Not that I'm keeping track or anything.

I looked ahead of me, squinting to try and peer past the few feet ahead of me. The blizzard was still going on, dispite the fact it started most likely days or weeks ago. The wolves, I decided to call them for a lack of another name, seemed to use some other method to know directions and location, but they didn't want to share.

Just as I was thinking this, one of the smaller ones bumped against my side. I looked down to my right, my eyes immediately thinking that nothing was there, dispite the sheen of its silvery fur. The cub licked my hand, and I couldn't help but smile. This one I called Hetera, simply due to the fact that her eyes were heterochromic- the left being a dark silver like most of her pack's, and the right being a forest green.

Hetera was my main companion in this pack, for she was the daughter of the mama wolf that found me. My guess was that Hetera had adopted me to be her sort of sister- an honor for me that I didn't expect. From then, we stuck together.

"What is it, Hetera?" I asked, petting her head. She looked into my eyes, and I could immediately tell what she wanted me to know.

We are stopping for the night, and the mothers are going to hunt, She told me. I glanced around, and noticed from what I could see, we indeed were.

"Thanks for letting me know," I slowed down, before coming to a stand still. I then kneeled down onto the fresh snow, feeling the coldness dimly. My clothes had gotten extremely torn, so aside from my jewelry, I was in my birthday suit. It doesn't bother me now as much as it did in the beginning, for my body entered 'polar bear mode'.

"Hetera," I patted my lap, which she promptly curled up in, "Where do you think we are?" She looked at me, but her answer was unclear, as my past questions were. Sighing, I hugged her. She was toasty warm. "Thank you," I still said, as my eyes closed into a light sleep.

The last one before everything would be changed, forever.

The last rest until it awakened.
